  1. Trivial Thing but: Can somebody clear something up for me regarding final rider scores. I had in my programme last night that Barker finished with 8+2 and Garrity 10+1, but on walking down to the pits, Barry Wallace announced that Barker scored 9+2 and Garrity 9+1. The Diamonds website has the scores as I had them as does updates but the BSPA has them as Barry Wallace announced them. I was sure that Garrity was third in Heat 15 and I think this is where the error is coming from (albeit my potential error). Totally trivial thing but it's annoying me. In terms of the meeting, great results and great meeting, particularly the last 3 heats. Great to see so many Redcar fans in attendance, really added to the atmosphere and the stunned looks on the Redcar fans faces after Heat 15 was great but they took it on the chin, respect to them. Great performances by Garrity and Barker (Suicide Squad!!! ), always enjoy watching them. Looking forward to the B fixture.
  2. Ah but, Ranting Roy would get excited about two raindrops running down a pane of glass, I think he does seem to over egg things sometimes. Great at what he does mind you.
  3. Personally I think we should tell the Poles to F*** O**
  4. I dread to think who the guy in the monkey suit is who used to just out or hang on the back of the car!!!! Answers on a postcard :D
  5. I don't think the problem is with Newcastle, it is the riders who come to Newcastle and can't ride the track properly. If all tracks were the same it would be pretty boring. Cookie, Worrall (both), Lambert and Wells never seem to struggle and nor does Ben Barker. You can see the riders that adapt and have adapted to the shape of the track and they are rewarded for doing so. The Redcar track over the last few years has been terrible, a complete gate and go track, it is much better now. You cause has just been helped on Sunday by the fact we have no Lambert and no facility to cover him. Bloody Poles!!!
  6. By reading the article it sounds like it will be a NL rider in his place. "without the services of number 1 Robert Lambert and with no facility to cover his absence. "
  7. Why, he's not with holding his services and it is beyond the control of Newcastle and the SCB/BSPA. If he does not ride for his Polish club I dare say he will suffer some sort of consequence and the same may be levelled if he does not ride for Newcastle. I don't see how he can win. I think the not being released is in relation to the Holder incident at Peterborough.
  8. Shocking return from Ludvig tonight. We can't keep carrying him away from home!! Well done to Alfie, get his signature on a contract for 18!!
  9. No I think he will select someone from out of the crowd or a member of the track staff!! Everyone will be given a ticket when they arrive with a number on it, this will be draw out of Ged's pocket and if you number comes out, your at No. 1, any other slots will be filled using the same format!!! I was not aware of injuries worries for BWD and Simon Lambert, fingers crossed they are fit to ride. Give Lasse these guys number, they are local and should be able to sort him out!! http://hatherplant.co.uk/ I know what you are saying and it saddens me as well that a few clubs/promotions/riders are dragging this fantastic sport further and further down.
  10. See we are thinking ahead and saving the club money, I'll let you put the suggestion to George, I'm off to make a boat load of custard pies in preparation for next season and fill my buckets with glitter!!
  11. So the following riders will be missing for Newcastle and Peterborough, I apologise if I miss any: 30/08/17 1930 Belle Vue v Rye House (SGBP) - Steve Worrall, Stuart Robson and Chris Harris 30/08/17 1930 Poole v King's Lynn (SGBP) - Robert Lambert, Paul Starke and Jack Holder (I am just guessing on that one, assuming he will be allowed to go and play tiddlywinks by his promotion ) So we go into this meeting without 3 of our top four riders, seems like a pointless fixture to me!!! Why arrange a fixture for this date, I don't understand the point, almost as bad as the Swindon Somerset match the other night.
  12. Did you get any sort of discount on your tickets for ordering well in advance of the 1st round!! I'll be shocked if you didn't and I would demand a refund!! :P
  13. Cool, racesuit design sorted for next year. Big clown shoes, red nose and squirtly flower. Teams can come out in funny clown cars as well. 😂😂😂
  14. I'm sure George said that we did not have enough riders for 1 big league at the announcement meeting, might have been wrong.
  15. I can't see either Robert or Stevie staying, personally. I think Robert's was a two year thing from what George said at the meeting when the team was announced. I think a lot will depend on the structure of the league or leagues next year. I think we are heading for a north and south league either next year or in the not too distance future with cup competitions being between northern and southern teams so we see some form of variety. I would love to see both Robert and Stevie back but I can't see it and if we have Stevie and Richie, won't we be in the same boat as this year, having a long tail. We must not forget the Magic Man either, I can't believe that after Newcastle shelled out money for him they are just going to let him sit on the shelf. Is it too early to start a Newcastle 2018 thread!!! :o
  16. True but if he gates and sticks his leg out, nobody will get past him on the inside at the first corner and if they try he could always spray them with water from his flower!! :P
  17. Ask who?? I'm not arsed, he can race in a clown suit for all I care as long as he keeps doing what he is doing!!
  18. Its probably a case of Robbo has ridden for us on numerous occasions over the years and the race suits are made by the same person/company every year, they will probably hold his sponsor designs and measurements on file and so could make the suit a lot quicker than having to design/put together Alfie's suit from scratch as it is. Jut a guess.
  19. Agree and I've been really impressed by Alfie, he's very raw but never gives up and I think he should be considered for next year. I find Ashley really frustrating, you can see the talent and determination but the scores just don't seem to come. He always has a bad first ride and it takes him a while to recover, excellent gater and so I think he should be scoring more, great to watch though.
  20. And a fictional 1980's computer arcade game, used by the US government allegedly!!!! Anyway. The team led by two up and coming young Brits 😉 looked like it could deliver silverware but so far has failed too. All Diamonds fans when the team was announced saw that we had a very long tail end and the hope was Phillips would kick on this year. Before his injury he was showing glimpses but never really looked like he was gonna be the rider we needed (in my opinion). Our achilles has once again been our shocking away form and inconsistency by some riders away from home. We still have the chance of silverware in the Cup!!! and the pairs and PLRC so not all is lost yet, except that elusive league title, 2018 maybe😉
  21. I was at the Diamonds meeting before the start of the season and I believe he contacted George asking for a team slot!!! What happened after Heat 10, we were doing OK up to that point and then .........
  22. Why does the Diamonds website say 'It will be difficult with The Tigers in red-hot form and top of the league but Ludvig Lindgren and his team-mates are determined to put up a better showing this time around.' Makes it sound like Ludvig is riding.
  23. I see Lambert got an 18 point max in the U19. Would have been good to see Holder at Brough but he sees his future outside of England.
