  1. Hope he's ok Be a shame if his British career was ended in a pointless fixture.
  2. Looking at the weather forecast for Southern England from Friday to next Thursday, 70% chance of heavy rain at times each day and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday they'd best get a bloody big tent organised pdq! Summer looks most defintely over and a very wet spell ahead!
  3. So is the rumour true. Poole announced home play off for 7th Agreed with some possible opponents e. g Redcar and Edinburgh but not Plymouth Poole selling tickets before Plymouth agree to date. Oh dear. Messy.
  4. Lawson has been unhappy with Richie Worrall for a while.. Lawson naughty on Hans too... He don't like Danes either!
  5. He may have been taken out of context I guess tonight. If plymouth beat Glasgow they would end up 4th above Edinburgh on aggregate scorevdifference both on 32 points But for the purpose of the play off with cut off tomorrow they'll finish 6th with 29 points. Only in speedway
  6. Some good racing there and a deserved Redcar win. How much the loss of a match not counting at cut off tomorrow will be the determining factor at the end of the season can only be guessed at. Plymouth may have won last week and finished 4th they'll never know. Got a meaningless match now v Glasgow and the rider who caused the call off might not even be fit to ride.... That's speedway I guess. Hard to pick winners out of both semis with masters and pickering wright and Jenkins carrying injuries and Worrall not 100% and Kemp and Ablitt poor plus plymouth relying on a small number of guest options. Date and decision of Ben Barker hearing may be crucial to them as presumably he can ride or is banned and if he's banned won't they lose guest facility as normally no guest for a banned rider
  7. Not sure they are massively faster as some track records are stubbornly quite a while ago. I think its just that the engines rev so high that they are prone to taking off. There definitely isn't the throttle control of the old 2 valve and upright 4 valve era. Also possible that the air fence era and improved protective equipment has lulled the recent generations in to a (false) sense of security. You see crashes now that people just wouldn't have walked away from 20 - 25 years ago. Thats MASSIVELY positive but it remains a very dangerous sport.
  8. Ouch nasty. Good job it's not as bad as it looked. He seems to have hit a damp patch going in to the first turn.
  9. Bit surprised they haven't gone RR for Charles as Lawson and Kerr will be hard to beat round there and probably better than Charles. I guess it's the doubts about fitness of Jenkins and Kasper. Atkins certanly adds a whole new dimension as he can be very good round there.
  10. Are Poole desperate to ride at home v Redcar, Plymouth or Edinburgh on the 7th? If so why? What's the rush? Can't they ride KOC or Jubilee Cup? Is something happening on the 8th or after? Surely arranging matches when you don't even know opponents is desperation? Maybe someone could enlighten us?
  11. Cheap Anlas tyres all stored at Scunny. Probably getting near to the end of the season supply and they've been sat in a container baking in record heat all summer. It's not rocket science is it? Didn't they instruct when similar problems last season that riders should put talcum powder on the rim as the tyres were much harder to fit than Mitas.?
  12. 100% Core strength is vital. If compromised how can he be allowed to ride.
  13. I think there have been many Brummies fans who have experienced the jobsworth attitude of stadium staff and their lack of customer service skills and training. Confiscating water in bottles and personal containers on entry perhaps the most glaring example.
  14. I've relatives on my wife's side from Devon so usually make a few visits. To be honest haven't really enjoyed experience at PB since Stadium changed to AR group. Both the Masons and new lot have tried but it's like being at an Away track, no warmth from non speedway staff. Quite the opposite on occasions.
  15. so what time are Plymouth going to announce the signings of Lahti, Klindt and Rasmus ... just need to know so that the good residents of Dorset and Hampshire can be alerted to a major Sewage / Effluent incident near Poole...
  16. Wonder how many Poole assets have been told not to ride for other clubs. As for replacement for Kennett, Gary May has reportedly tried over a dozen and at least one wasn't allowed by BSPL. Usual arrogant twaddle from a Poole know all.
  17. Yep Thats their inbred arrogance. Leicester beat Poole home and Away Plymouth thrashed Leicester at home and run them close at Leicester. Dickson isn't daft he'd choose Poole over Plymouth and Edinburgh over Poole. Redcar are tougher to assess for Leicester I'd say out of all their semi options. Depends the order of 4th 5th 6th Id think Glasgow would prefer anyone but Edinburgh lol.
  18. Not sure Leicester would pick Plymouth in any semi final - didn't they only get 30 point there in the League and Plymough got over 40 at Leicester? If Plymouth make semi's I think Leicester might fancy Poole a bit more?
  19. I doubt the quality of Guests they have had to book have been "cost effective" at all - quite the opposite as they are hostages to mercenaries , no need to name names but a few will ask and get top buck everywhere or try to!. Clearly had Barker stayed out of trouble and Gilkes stayed fit they would have been very strong anyway. Losing MPT at the same time and Bowtell who was very strong at home and vastly improved in last few months he rode away was a clear blow too. They would possibly prefer Redcar to finish 7th as Scunny don't have as many usable Guest options as others elsewhere have explained.
  20. It'll be just the Redcar Match that decides play off positions from 4th to 6th (and 7th) Plymouth have a superior points differential over Edinburgh so could win v Redcar and finish 4th and play Edinburgh who finish 5th if that happens. Redcar could get a 4 point away win and finish 5th and play Edniburgh leaving Plymouth 6th to play Poole. If Redcar draw or lose by less than 6 points they pip Scunthorpe for 6th place. I've read on Plymouth website that the re-arranged Glasgow Home match is on Tuesday 6th September. That will count in final league positions but WON'T count in play off calculation as the final cut-off is Wednesday 31st August. By riding it though they avoid a hefty fine from BSPL.
  21. Robs going to pay him what? 80 a point? What will he earn in Poland? Considerably more I'd suggest. Like someone has said best not to upset the Poles.
  22. Glads may not need guests if rumoured signings are correct
  23. Shame Lawson didn't have the same attitude. Hopefully Michael will come back stronger and fitter next season.
