Don't get the obsession with big tracks that often deliver spread out processional racing. Surely a track similar length to Armadale and Redcar built to modern requirements with shorter straights and sweeping turns is ideal. Besides if wishing to retain most of the current 1 to 7 surely give them like for like as opposed to something totally alien.
-
Great news for one of the friendliest of Clubs. Hopefully they can be ready for April / May 2023 or would at a push may it be possible to start at Armadale and then move if new venue was a few months late??

I believe he lives in Ledbury. If so it's Herefordshire, the Boundary with Worcestershire is just over the other side of the Malvern Hills from the Worcester side.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the issues last night, one thing seems to have been completely overlooked RIDER SAFETY. A weakness in any fence is as murphys law dictates like a magnet. Sheffield is one of the fastest tracks in the Country, phenominal speeds in to the bends and often in the high dirt line. You CANNOT compromise that for TV, for the Public, it's the one aspect that is NON NEGOTIABLE. We saw before air / foam fences how exposed lamposts and posts were a magnet, the losses of the likes of Gary Peterson; Denny Pyatt, Vic Harding to name but 3 sadly and forever missed and even with Air Fences riders have been badly hurt by Posts hit after going underneath or totally depressing the bag given the speed of impact. Had that meeting continued with an ill-fitting or incorrectly fitted bag and someoe have been hurt or worse as a consequence then the raminfications would have been FAR MORE serious. Maybe too before keyboard warriors and those who have never taken any responsibility for anything in their lives belittle and troll, may be consider the Track Staff and Track Volunteers who make speedy repairs 99 times out of 100 and always walking away with the responsibility of the repair they have ensured in their minds right the way through the meeting until the final race is run.

I don't think you'll find any air in the fence at Lynn?.. its foam!

Size isn't everything lol I'd say Eastbourne is like Monmore, very tricky and not a natural shape big home track advantage. I don't really enjoy visits to either. Turns too tight especially first turns at both. Plymouth is actually a lovely shape and flows much better, it's like a very small Somerset. If they could just widen and round off the straights at Plymouth by a few metres it would be a cracking shape. The closeness to the track for spectators at Plymouth is a great experience. No dog track. -
Seen it in speedway star and its on Plymouth v Newcastle preview he has second docs appointment 30th June. The star interview a few weeks ago said he hoped to be back by end of July.

His 2021 scores were null and void don't forget. His scores will be calculated from 2019 and possibly before, he started 2019 on a ridiculously high average from PL average marked up.

In Poland Toft most definitely wouldn't have gone. Lawson had he done that in Poland would have been lucky to walk out of the stadium. -

So you weren't there but happy to contradict fair minded Poole fans who were there who outed Lawson for dangerous Riding. It's clearly dangerous and thankfully MPT was relative unscathed. -

You'd wonder if they were at the same match. Some good column inches though I guess. https://www.poole-speedway.com/fixtures-results/view/2022-06-22-poole-plymouth https://plymouth-speedway.com/gladiators-draw-away-at-the-pirates/ -

Cheating is breaking the law or gtting someone to change a law for the benefit of some not all! What Gary May did in declaring Howarth to replace Barker and not Kennett was completley within the Rules of the Sport and had any Team Manager not spotted that option then frankly they shouldn't be Team Managing. Maybe Poole fans are too used to see their Team hammering the opposition and when they don't hammer the opposition having the parallel univese write up from Shovlar to ease their worries, a bit like the worst of the Daily Mail. Having watched the stream as a complete neutral, I felt that Lawson was dangerous in fencing MPT (in fairness unusual for Lawson), hard on Bowtell and Bowtell could have sandbagged and got lawson excluded (so credit to Bowtell0 ; and the Heat 14 verdict on the line is unforgivable really. Poole will probably strengthen before the play offs and injuries and lack of suitable replacements will ultimately hinder Plymouth but certainly last night lady luck smiled on Poole and hit Plymouth right in the goolies! -
Staggering article in the Speedway Star today outlining the investment Nigel has made and contunies to make and how far from break-even they are match to match, and how desperatley low some attendences have been. Positive that he will get to the end of the season and pay all the bills though. Its a strikingly similar scenario to other Clubs who have departed , outgoings exceeding incomings, declining attendences, declining sponsorship and advertising, increased costs, uncaring corporate landlords; and a group of riders whose machine and running costs dicate that they too are living in cloud cuckoo land about being full time professionals, pandering to tuners and the latest weight saving gimmicks; and yes many Owners/Promoters own business models in cuckoo land too, hearts ruling their brains!. With the other ogre the "developer" threatening Swindon, Edinburgh and Peterborough really is time to baton down the hatches and support all Clubs and hopefully come out the other side. Its easy to blame Owners / Promoters as being incompetent, clueless, stupid and even crooks to varying degrees; but I saw how affected Peter and David were last season, aging visibly with worry and stress; and having read Rob Grants comments this week and those of others who have tried and failed in recent seasons in the past decade, it's clear to me that rather than attack those who have tried and failed and moan at those who are trying NOT to fail, it really does need some decisive action. All those that have failed have undoubtedly invested much financially and lost it and immesurable investment in time and stress. That starts from the top down but us supporters also have a part to play from the bottom up. There are green shoots at Workington and hopefully at Swindon and Eastbourne and Oxford big-style are showing it IS possible.

Does a ref have scope to exclude a rider from a meeting for dangerous Riding if its clearly going to impact on the result of the meeting? -
If 6 PL Clubs get the lions share of the TV money - which they do - and the rest feed off scraps of the TV money - which they do, then it's not rocket science to calculate that if the TV was equally shared that a number of the PL clubs would not be self sufficient. The real issue goes back 20 years, when the TV money was at least 10 x more than it is now and was wasted by all concerned at the time and wasn't invested long term in te Sport. People keep going on about a Darts / Snooker Hearn type revolution, that financial revolution happened all those years ago via Sky, it could and should have made Speedway a TOP 5 sport in terms of profile, it was used, abused and lost and Speedway now is struggling to be in the top 50 Sports in the UK. A participation of around 100, a dwindling and aging fan base and a set up that makes anyone used to professional sport think it's some kind of joke. The current Management Committee are as much victims of their predecessors pre 1990 as they are victims of their own inadequacies.

That may be a false interpretation of what cancelled means. If you postpone its usually weather related. Cancelled may just mean they've been told Newcastle have closed suddenly so they have to cancel the event. Whether Newcastle will reopen is surely too soon to say and I'd doubt anyone actually knows the answer to that. Plymouth have looked after their fans and visitors by simply getting a communication out about tonight specifically is my interpretation.

Guess that's official then? https://plymouth-speedway.com/plymouth-speedway-announcement/

Suggests it has come as a shock to Plymouth and BSPL and that Newcastle have made a unilateral choice? Certainly when Clubs hit problems last year, that Brummies and Newcastle were having weekly meetings with BSPL and were told whether they could ride or not and any interim cancelations / fixture changes (like getting Leicester to PBarr to help Brummies were agreed in advance) and Eastbourne were told when indicating problems to BSPL 5 days before a meeting that they had to go to Leicester to fulfil an away Fixture and did that Fixture at BSPL insistence.

people in glass houses and all that. I have a recollection of Mulford letting Kent down a few times in NDL with transport issues and lack of bikes etc. If you are looking at proven NDL / CL form then it's a no brainer that Edwards would be preferred and surprising he wasn't a dedicated no 8 although he is riding NDL and CL already. May be Mulford needs to focus on Grass/Long Track or Speedway for now. He's similar level on Grass to Atkins and Wirtzfeld both of whom seem to have had a rather in/out relationship with Speedway too. The common fact is they all have talent but may be trying to spread it too thinly. The other issue for mulford is that as long as he's viewed as a Grass Track ridr he won't be attractive to well over half of the CL teams who race Friday/Saturday and Sunday as preferred day

interesting fact I gleaned from the Plymouth website so it must be true They claim they are the only side to score over 40 points in every league match....so far! (no doubt some stastician can clarify) I'd think if they leave Wimborne Road with that record intact they will be mighty pleased. 50-40 maybe? -

I'm sure that Garry May will be eager to use a Leicester rider if he can as they have added interest in doing what they can against poole to ensure Leicester have top spot and picks when it comes to play offs. -
