  1. Well said, exactly my point, it’s the arrogance of the promoters and Chapman in particular that really annoys me, they moan and complain about crowd levels and fans walking away from the sport...AND they wonder why!! They don’t give a toss about the fans!
  2. Fair enough, well done, hope you enjoy your £800 camping holiday you’ve deserved it for being so super patient.
  3. ...I wonder if you’d be quite so understanding if you’d bought a new telly for £500 from Curry's and it hadn’t arrived after 4 months? By now ALL clubs should have refunded ALL the season ticket money or issued a full explanation as to what is going to happen with season tickets in the future. The way this is being handled is disgraceful...they think because you are ‘fans’ they can get away with it so they ignore you!! They are cowboys!
  4. That’s all rather puzzling, if that is the general situation at most stadiums then many other clubs will be effected and therefore will not run?
  5. How disappointing Wealdstone but sadly unsurprising, they way they treat fans is shameful. Unfortunately speedway is run by the arrogant cowboy Chapman, he’s the past BSPA chairman for goodness sake and was so called running the sport!!! As I’ve said in other posts this man and the other clown Godfrey have overseen the downfall of speedway and if they go bust, which they probably will, they have only themselves to blame.
  6. Then from what you are saying it doesn’t look like a Robins new stadium. What are the club saying to fans?
  7. Many riders will be in serious financial debt having geared up with equipment etc. So I wonder how many riders have got other jobs now to pay the bills and won’t or can not come back to the sport?
  8. Fair point. But nothing like doing this is easy. Sure Manchester Council were tough to deal with.
  9. Agreed things seem to be very slow but Swindon Promoters should stick at it same as Belle Vue did, I think it took them about 10 or 11 years and look what they have achieved so it can be done.
  10. No I don’t want anyone to go bust..but I responded to a post basically saying Glasgow were to be praised...where as they bailed out of the CL when other promoters, to there credit, are sticking out.
  11. I do know they pulled out...the only promotion to do so....YET...!!
  12. If only there were more promotoers like those at Glasgow ... think we would all be able to plan our lives for 2020. Oh yes ‘if only’...we would end up with absolutely nothing. These so called ‘promoters’ bailed out because they fell out amongst themselves regarding speedway and the car business they ran was in a bad way due to virus situation. I don’t blame them BUT Don’t suggest they are good and doing it for the supporters, they have bailed out purely for selfish reasons.
  13. ...maybe but I’m being realistic, so we will see....!
  14. TBH I don’t think the BSPA clueless clowns and Mr Dickson know what day of the week it is!
  15. Not sure how ‘in the know’ or knowledgable Dickson is but I think this is just misleading blustering and wishful thinking. He’s in a dream or should I say a nightmare and talking nonsense. Live sport, including speedway, with spectators attending is way way off and certainly will not be in the next month or so. Even when it is allowed, which will not be until a vaccine treating the virus is found or the spread of the pandemic has drastically improved, and considering the age demographic of supporters, many will not attend as they will not feel comfortable in crowds and many will have got out of the habit of going to speedway. The economic situation is a complete disaster, the UK is now plunging into a deep recession, just look at the news every day, with lots of businesses collapsing or on the brink of going bust, millions being made redundant and joining the massive list of unemployed, I fear many speedway clubs will go to the wall. This is not doom and gloom but sadly reality!
  16. Agreed, until social distancing is relaxed and apparently that’s going to be some time off, there will be no speedway in the UK. To suggest there will be racing is pie in the sky and I feel is misleading fans for alternative reasons! Speedway was on its knees before this pandemic and now the financial disaster the sport could be all but wiped out. Just look at all the businesses now going bust, even good ones before the crisis!
  17. Good post mikeb, I appreciate the BSPA optimism but they should now be realistic, as Glasgow have been, and call off this season and clubs make a statement about paying back the season ticket money and restore some faith with fans.
  18. Yes that’s the way they all should do it, Len has done the right thing. I assume Glasgow have refunded all season tickets.
  19. Agreed and shows how useless and deluded some in the BSPA are thinking speedway will go on this year and are still hanging on to season ticket money. Glasgow are more realistic and honest about the situation. Also there other business must be seriously damaged and they have more important problems to deal with other than speedway.
  20. Very smart and sensible decision by The Glasgow owner. Other clubs should be realistic and honest and write off this year. To pretend that meaningful speedway will take place this year is totally ridiculous. It is farcical to think that speedway will run, even behind closed doors, as it would be financial madness.
  21. The clueless Godfrey has a proven track record for overseeing the failure of British speedway over the past few years and clearly doesn’t possess the business acumen to run the proverbial booze up in a brewery, he is incompetent and way out of his depth. As for ‘central independent’ control, whatever that means, of the sport has been talked about for years and will not happen. The Club promoters won’t agree to that, there view is it’s there money and they want to have there say and that will not change. Speedway has been heading to financial disaster for many years and the Covid19 crisis will prove to be the final straw. Realistically and sadly many other sports and businesses, far stronger and more prominent than speedway, will not survive the effect of this crisis, the serious challenges and financial impact we will all face in the future will be enormous.
  22. Ok, then clubs should come clean and put out options rather than just ignore the situation and not respond to requests which clearly is the case with a number of clubs. You literally can not speak or contact anyone at the clubs to get information or a refund.
  23. I bought 4 tickets for a concert that had to be postponed until later in the year and the promotion refunded my ticket money the next day. Speedway clubs who are notoriously poor with refunds, should do the same now because they will not earn any sympathy by screwing the customer. The virus situation for us all is tricky but BSPA or SCB should put out a statement about this immediately as ignoring requests for refunds or withholding money with no reasonable explanation about there plans is wrong.
