  1. NOT a surprise really, the big surprise it took so long. BV has been badly managed by these to clowns. Smith knew nothing about speedway and judging by the losses at bv next to nothing about business. Lemon who’s clueless about business and by bv results and team management knows very little about running a speedway team. At the bottom line you have to look at the owners off bv for making very poor appointments in a sport and business the know nothing about. Clearly they thought they could make a quick profit and how wrong have they been. Lemon in charge is yet another serious desperate blunder. Where this will take bv is anybody guess but the future looks very uncertain.
  2. Really hope so coz I’m looking forward to seeing Tai coming past the finish line giving the bv fans the finger again
  3. Wrong again. The Belle Vue company directors are William Anthony Rice and Robin Simon Southwell. They're the people responsible for the club. Ok but you are splitting hairs…I didn’t say he is a company director I said he a director (speedway) of the club and that means he’s responsible for running the club along with side kick Smith. The success or failure and the enormous losses is 100% down to them to. And as I’ve said before after 5 years of failure they should be given the boot. But we will see.
  4. Lemon is a director of the club and as such is fully responsible. The way bv is set up Lemo has more control and involvement in the success or failure of the club than Smith. Smith really does what Lemo says because he still doesn’t know how speedway works. He plays the big bv boss but that’s all about his ego. The money the club loses isn’t there’s and they still pick up there wages so they probably not that worried. They’ve had 5 years to get things right at bv and they haven’t. Any other business they failed in and they’d be sacked.
  5. Well ok but they are supposed to run the club as a business and there first priority is make money. They failed and the club will go bust if they continue to be in place. They have the best track and stadium and yet in 5 years in charge have just gone through the motions, they are lazy and just playing at it and haven’t promoted bv and taken the club forward. These people are supposed to be top well paid management and really they haven’t a clue how to run a speedway club. Them horrendous figures speak for themselves and is factual proof that they don’t know what they doing. That’s why they should be given the boot and that’s how real serious business works, if you can’t cut it, you’re out!
  6. Them figures are incredibly bad and certainly no laughing matter. After five years in charge at bv and not really taking the club forward at all and not running it as a proper business racking up five years of huge losses surely it’s now time for Smith and Lemon to be sacked and new good managers put in place who know what they are doing as the big question is how long can these enormous losses continue before the club goes bust? The way thing is, speedway has zero chance of recovering from its bankrupt state and the people running the sport have proved they are clueless in how to change things around and I’m sure many other clubs are also losing a lot of money.
  7. I can’t think this bv promotion would take on any old debts as it was a new start business and not there responsibility. I fairly sure and remember a article in the speedway star that the council held a huge sum of cash back from the builder for the defective track problem so that would clear most if not all debts.
  8. Thanks again you learn something new every day. So tell me why does it show (£630,000) on the 2020 accounts then, what does that refer two.?
  9. Ok thanks for that info, so all is financially good at bv. Good news even though I thought figures in brackets were bad and signified loss.
  10. Well apparently the figures is all in black and white on company house web site.
  11. They run the club now for 5 years and lost money every year and I’m told the bv 2020 accounts show eye watering £630,000 losses which is up over £100k from 2019. I thought smith and his lot was top rate business people. First rule in business is make money. They’ll never get that money back from a sport that’s seriously bust!
  12. Agree, what a joke this management is. They are clueless. No wonder they are losing a fortune every season.
  13. don’t suppose Gordon or Mort read these posts hear but it would be good if do to find out the truth of what happened. I were told after they fell out at the end they don’t speak which if true is a bit sad with what they achieved for BV and the sport. See these links in the paper about the track. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/other-sport/speedway/belle-vue-aces-chris-morton-12139248&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjVz87Dz5_1AhUUSPEDHZCrBD0QFnoECAkQAg&usg=AOvVaw2Bs7mH6ny3e9s5-9-VgLjF https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/belle-vue-aces-bosses-say-12129749
  14. I listened to the 5-1 show interview and it’s incredible the problems and hurdles Gordon and Mort had to get over which took 10 years to get NSS built which was the biggest thing to happen in recent history of speedway ever. They should write a book and also expose the treachery of the BSPA that Mort alluded to in the show.
  15. Fair point iainb but they are all to blame really for letting speedway irreversibly decline into a Micky Mouse sport. I no promoters at times do have there differences but Im told that Chapman and Godfrey are even disliked and not trusted by there fellow promoters. So no wonder uk speedway is in a terminal mess.
  16. To a point I agree, but under Chapman and Godfrey’s term in charge at the BSPA serious damage to the sport was inflicted. The chief clown Chapman got rid of the Speedway’s office manager who I understand ran the show evenhanded and that cost a lot of cash just so he could have full control of things without being question including BSPA money to waste on the engine fiasco. Proving the man is clueless at business. He also was up to all sorts of jiggery pokerary trying to get his hands on other clubs all at the time he runs a dump stadium with a cabbage patch track at KL.
  17. That’s no excuse, the village idiot Chapman is an ignorant bully boy who clearly thinks pushing and pulling people about is the right thing to do. Interesting that no one complied with his pathetic rant. The man is a disgrace to our sport.
  18. So depressing accurate but talk about the writing was on the wall…it could have been made last year!! When you look at Chapmans behaviour it’s of little surprise the sport has spiralled in to a big black hole. He exudes incompetence and yet he was allowed to eventually run the sport, sadly into the ground.
  19. Yeah I’m right about who’s to blame, you only have to see the damage they done and were speedway is currently. As far as my recovery plan, I’m not running the sport, it’s for them lot to figure that out!
  20. Correction, I do not think ‘everyone’ is a clueless clown but I rightly describe Chapman and Godfrey and some at the BSPA as clueless clowns as they are guilty of running our sport into the ground. They need to be called out as at the end of the day they are to blame and they have no answers or recovery plans to get speedway out of the mess they caused.
  21. Even the village idiot has a better business brain than Chapman and Godfrey’s combined. Judging by your comments I suspect you’ve may have never met smith and had a conversation with him about bv and the sport? I’m not judging smith by his amazing ability to walk around the stadium and that he’s bravely resisted changing the club colours or on his complete lack of speedway knowledge. I’m judging him on pure business acumen and the fact he and Lemon, who was hired to run the Aces without investing a penny of there own money, have achieved relatively nothing or promoted the club hard and taken the club forward. They done very little except take there wages and overseen the club loose eye watering amounts of money year on year which I fear will eventually have to stop and that will put the club at risk of closure. BV like many uk clubs is unsustainable and effectively bust. With that dismal track record to suggest mr smith is capable of running the sport is astonishingly farcical and totally naive. Even the clueless clowns in Rugby will see that and it won’t happen.
  22. As a bv fan I have a different opinion of mr smith, in the 5 years he’s helped run the club with main man Lemo, he’s achieved very little. I have talked to him a few times and he just don’t listen and he’s not taken the club forward and he’s arrogantly pushed away many long serving bv volunteers and worse upset a former hero world champion PC. The club have lost a small fortune and crowds are low and nowhere near what they should be for such a great track and stadium but. bv don’t even run the NSS now. There’s more football and other stuff done by the council. IMHO he’s certainly not a business man. Business men are only their to make money not loose it.
  23. Yes and thanks goodness that Chapman did stand down as he did enough damage to the sport (engines fiasco) and handed it on to an equally dimwit. I respect your opinion even though it probably won’t happen and I’m aware you were a big part of delivering the fantastic NSS so credit to you. The sport needs more people like you.
  24. Thanks for that info. I still remain very doubtful that any ‘independent’ person or body who ever they are would make any difference and prevent the terminal decline in speedway. Or more relevant is that the clowns at BSPA would never allow anyone ‘independent’ to run speedway. They would sooner let the chief clowns Godfrey & Chapman continue to run the sport in to the ground and to its inevitable demise.
