  1. Marcin Nowak? Or perhaps a new rider to Britain? 🤔
  2. Too right. The whole make up of the sport needs a complete overhaul.
  3. I'd be all for a RS system in both leagues. With Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards and Leon Flint being the standard for the Premiership and Ace Pijper, Max Perry and William Cairns being rhe standard for the Championship. It creates a clear next step on the ladder so to speak for riders progressing up the leagues. And the slightly stronger RS at 6 and slightly weaker RS rule being implemented in both leagues tbh. Prem example - 6. Connor Mountain 7. Joe Thompson Champ example - 6. Luke Killeen 7. Jody Scott If someone like Tate Zischke wants to ride in the Premiership or Jacob Hook in the championship they should be at number 2 or 4. Reserves should be protected for young(ish) British riders who can develop. Maybe it could be extended out to Aussies for the likes of Fraser Bowes and Jordy Loftus but that's another topic.
  4. Getting big names in isn't always going to improve the sport... the aim is to improve the quality of racing and that's only ever going to happen if all the riders are at a similar standard. Some of the best races I've ever watched were at amateur level 😄 may have been slower but all 4 riders were all over eachother.
  5. Nah not drop the scheme at all. But the RS should never come up against an oppositions number 1 or 5 really. I actually think somehow developing a race format that allows 2 RS riders would be better. With a slightly loosened rule set for the number 6 RS. With riders who could still develop even at an older age being considered, such as connor mountain. However they should only really come up against the other teams reserves and second strings where they stand more of a chance. I stopped going to the speedway years ago now because I was sick of seeing spread out races. Times might have changed now I dunno. I do miss it sometimes because there's been some brilliant memories, but the sport in the country just has a sombre feeling about it that I don't feel in Poland, Sweden or Denmark and I just can't put my finger on what it is.
  6. I really don't understand the mindset of we have to have the big names... no we don't. We need races with riders of equal standard against eachother. I'd rather watch a race of dan Thompson, danyon hume, Connor Mountain and Jordan Jenkins (first 4 riders of semi equal ability that came into my head) As opposed to Max Fricke, Jason Doyle, Jake Mulford and Joe Thompson. With all due respect to Jake and Joe... the first race is going to be much closer and much more entertaining than watching Max and Jason half a lap ahead of two others...
  7. The camera angles are embarrassing. How did they consistently miss every single bit of action. Particularly in Heat 10 with Emil. And even after the race when he was clearly doing a lap of honour... Random crowd shot for a solid 15 seconds rather than the actual action...
  8. I'm very tempted to subscribe to them, it's a lot of money to me, being a single homeowner with not the greatest paying job of all time, but I've heard nothing but good things about BSN and do miss my speedway fix from time to time.
  9. National League is quite often more entertaining than the dull top leagues
  10. May as well just call it the Birmingham Development League... Can't believe that no one else can put on second half racing... Costs nothing really
  11. When I rode in the NJL we had a meeting at Berwick where I really struggled to ride the track. But once the meeting was over we were allowed to keep riding until the curfew as there was still 30 mins to go. Although the Berwick lads were reluctant to give us help during the main NJL meeting (understandably) when we were out at the end, all of the Berwick lads were giving us tips on how to ride the place, and I tell you, it was a lot easier!! 3rd bend you've got to throw it in deep and go all the way to the fence and then cut back going into bend 4 and make a long straight. If you enter bend 3 tight, which is what I was doing, you run out of room coming off bend 4 and hit the home straight fence. I've always appreciated Berwick for taking the time to help develop us young riders and letting us ride for 30 minutes after the NJL meeting had finished. Weather and accidents in the main meeting are completely out of their control!
  12. All of that for that... 😐 good signing but why did it take 3 and a half decades to announce 😆
  13. Haven't watched a GP in years, the whole meeting setup is usually pretty boring. Nothing beats league racing.
