  1. There appears to be a few Finns in this I believe Reading had Petri Kokko & Jarno Kosenen at reserve
  2. The toughest event in World Speedway, Every point counts, A single bad ride & it could all be over. A fantastic advert for speedway but I feel at least the top 5 of these should be allowed to qualify.
  3. I can see your passion in these posts & I would wish for speedway to return to Rye House. however I think your fight is not with any posters on the BSF but with East Herts council. Each & every poster on here weather using their own name or an assumed name is entitled to their opinion & thats all it is I'm sure they bere you no ill will & support you in your quest but your targeted outbursts against any that doubt the final outcome being anything but favourable to you is misguided. I hope you can at least stall the project but like many others I think the land owners have a strong case & their plans to provide a facility that can be used all year over speedway opperating on a weekend between March & October. I have to say that the last promotion have made promises to provide several facilities (Dance Studio, Gym, KTM dealership & a bar/Restaurant) but although some were started none were completed. Good luck
  4. Bradford - under the Ham brothers promotion it was always a show at Odsal no matter what level of racing. Pardubice (Czech Rep) - I have been to the Golden Helmet a few times & it is a fantastic weekend. All 6 rider races superb. Somerset - When it is prepared well it produced some of the best racing. Rye House - After the improvments to the track from the last promotion it allowed some excellent racing lines. Reading (Smallmead) - whilst I enjoyed the Tilehurst circuit I was maybe to young to appriciate it. But to see Per Jonsson come round the pit turn at Smallmead then lock up to pass Nielsen on the kerb of turn 4 to win on the back wheel was a very special night. I also enjoyed White City (W12), Wembley, Edingburgh (Powderhall), Berwick (Berrington Lough) & Workington.
  5. Please refer to regulation 01 In the intrest of speedway...........
  6. I'm suprised Woffinden & Lambert have not taken the chance to use this meeting as a practice for the SoN which is on the same track
  7. I can tell you that there used to be a fairly large group of Reading fans on the back straight each week & another on the grass banking at turn 4. A group of Oxford fans were normally found on turn 2 near the burger van & more just after the start line. Speedway fans will always go to speedway. They may not have there own team to follow & support but the will go to another club & I find they are the bust judge when asked for an opinion because they dont have a view based on the host club.
  8. I believe so I think Mr Silver has lived near Maidstone for sometime close to his Silverski office
  9. I have no clue. You would need to ask him. I just saw him at Kent before the meeting in the pits area & I think he spent the night with Len Silver. As for his business that's none of mine
  10. Terry Russell was at Kent the other week walking with the aid of a stick. He looked healthy & the stick seemed to be just in case.
  11. Great to see Jason getting some form back. I hope he is getting fitter after his injuries. He looked like the old Crumpy in ht 10 lets hope he can build on that & get back to what we all remember
  12. The starts need to be looked at with riders from gates 1 & 4 often arrowing themselves to the other side of the track. The FIM regulatoions read 70.10,5 bikes should be parallel to the inner edge. Maybe if this regulation was applied we would not have seen Ht 12 take so long & Martin Vaculik would be fit to race at Mallila. All in all it was a poor display from one of the sports most senior Referees
  13. He may have been in close contact with Pooles Benjamin Basso
  14. I really don't think that Alun Rossiter or Lee Kilby know anymore than the rest of us as neither has a penny piece invested in the project. Only Terry Russell will have contact with Stadia UK / Gaming International or Clarke Osbourne to obtain infomation or any idea of what is going on & if he chooses to tell his employees its all moving forward then that is the message they tell. But in all honesty its going nowhere & will not be coming back to this venue.
  15. I have to agree it's not the best venue for a GP. But I understand that this was put in at short notice after others had pulled out of hosting during the current health issues. I am somewhat confused over Jason Doyle receiving a starting offence warning after a race that he won. It makes a mockery of the Tatum "N" Pearson comments that "He didnt get an advantage" & makes the Referee look a little stupid. Zmarslik is a great rider but I'm sure the FIM regulations state that riders must line up to the inner edge & he clearly was not, nor for the most part were riders from the inside. Once again we saw a track reserve that was not ready. surely for the biggest event they must be ready at all times.
  16. The really close finish was a joy to behold & when it was announced that Scott had taken it the roof nearly came off. what a brilliant race a credit to both riders involved, either one could have done something nasty but they gave each other room & pulled out of moves when it got to narrow. what a great show. Good to get through a whole meeting with no re-starts & no crashes & going home just after 8PM no body had time to moan.(Memories of Frank)
  17. I like Ben, He's a good honest lad & is supported by his whole family. But is he a number 2? I feel the number 2 jacket is to fill & so many times a rider is sacrificed in that position as the number 1 is often told to win the race & don't worry about your team mate. Which is fine because he is expected to return double figures. I'd like to see Ben at number 4 for a while to let him find his feet outside the reserve berth. he's been a top rider in the NDL for years so he knows how to win races. But we all know how twitchy he can be on the start line.
  18. With the new averages coming in Poole had to bring somebody in as the only rider left to guest at under 3.75 would be Kyle Bickley with both Kemp & Wright now above that. I hope the Danish lad firstly turns up & then produces some good displays. I don't think he has done much outside of his homeland but reports are promising.
  19. If the riders had more discipline & would ride around slowly waving to the crowd then we would be able to see their faces. However some can't be trusted to ride around without making a practice start or a wheel stand to entertain their self. the truth is it's a very dangerous sport & therefore extreamly difficult to get insurance for the competitors & it will only take one mishap on a parade lap for the brown stuff to connect with the high speed rotating distribution device & we are left with no racing
  20. Sorry for not being spot on with the average. I just picked a ball park figure to express the points Kent have at their disposal & its closer to 14 than 7.
  21. Yes of course I'm guessing but as I said given all the available information, He's looking for a second club, he's dropping his average, Kent need a big scorer & now have a space to fit him in. Yes I'm guessing but with nearly 14 points to play with why would you pick a 6.00 rider. I think Batch to Kent is the biggest odds on shot since the Lions played the Christians in Rome. then with Mulford I agree he may not hit big scores but he is a Kent rider & it's fair to say that the damage has been done so far as the league & play offs are concerned. Mulford will command more local support than lets say Jason Edwards or JPB
  22. I would say that given all the information available Troy Batchelor is almost certainly the big point rider to fill the gap as heat leader. but the reserve is another matter now that Edwards has been released by Eastbourne. However Mr Silver takes pride in producing young talented riders & he has a long history of success so it would not be a shock to see Jake Mulford promoted from the second team.
  23. Poole fans will be pleased to hear the new track record holder is Zane Keleher
  24. It's not a new rule. It's just never been used before. I think the argument comes from the fact Poole have signed a ghost on an assessed average of 5.00 to replace the outgoing assessed 4.00 meaning a difference in 0.5 in obtaining a guest. If the 4.00 average was used Poole would only be allowed a 3.00 replacement under this regulation.
