  1. Wroclaw seems to be lose its contract, its up for rewenal and if its continued its normally signed on the day of the meeting. Czestochowa's new stadium will possibly be favourite, Leszno has a decent stadium and Rynbik could have it aswell. Czestochowa I understand is not that far from the great city of Krakow. If Gdansk had a great stadium, I am sure that would be a sure-fire hit.
  2. The two Gps you have mentioned wont be concerned. Bydgoszcz is the Eastern European Cardiff, its like a World Final. Latvia is a new place and plenty of people want to explore it. It will hit places like Prague hard.
  3. Ooo ya, very interesting. It does collide with another football Championships. Source, old Poole one?!?
  4. One of the most stupidiest terms I heard was from the Eastbourne promotion was with regards to Bridger taking part in World Under-21 Championship as a 'waste of time' or some to that effect. The Under-21 Worlds still have a great prestige to them and whats with not learning the tracks.
  5. Kennett, Boxall and Bridger were all refused permission by the clubs to ride today. The Brits failed today thanks to a massive disregard once again from the British authorities. Some heads once again need rattling.
  6. A clear missed opportunity by BSI is Protasiewicz in and Kolodziej missing out. I have no probelms with PePe but he aint cutting it. Kolodziej is the next big thing in Speedway full stop.
  7. I noticed the Speedway track around the outside, I also seen the freak goal. It all looked bad for Poland#s World Cup bid but they just beat Croatia in a pre-season friendly.
  8. Great Day as always. But the worst roads ever. Still in air-horn inspired hangover. Biggest crowd I have seen there. TRACK - Awful, truly awful. I had thought they had got Cardiff all correct and proper but this track resembled Copenhague. NICHOLLS - Brought the house down in two of his heats. He could have gained 2nd in his semi but got caught in no-mans land. PEDERSEN, N - Big Disappointment as my respect for him has kept going lately. HANCOCK - My pick of the sweepstake, you have to feel sorry for him in the final. CRUMP - Truly class, even if he didnt make a gate. You knew he was gonna give it a go. His battle with AJ and Bjarne Pedersen was great. RICHARDSON - Looked very uncomfortable STEAD - Looked dodgy in his first heat but improved for there on. ZAGAR - I thought he maybe out of his depth in these GPs but proved he's more than worth the gamble. HAMPEL - Unluckiest man of the night. The roof of the Stadium would have gone off had he won. The Poles went ballistic when Hancock laid-down his bike.
  9. In my eyes what boosted up the attendance was the large number of Poles who were there, maybe in co-ordinance with the mass influx of Poles coming to work here. Incredibly crap track, you could see the base after the junior races. The only reason it became interesting was it rutted up and riders made mistakers. That and AJ, Crump and AN Other great race. Gollob's outside swoop and Nicholls bringing the house down twice. That the Poles gesturing to Hancock when poor old Hampel got the lead.
  10. It's loud, very loud. I have been Wembley Cup Finals, normal Speedway meetings, all sorts of sporting events. So it was no suprise to find out the British Grand Prix is the loudest sports event in Britain. The Stadium seems to amplify the bikes. I take earplugs or buy some on t'day.
  11. William Lawson is holding his own in the Elite League. They will be probably be updates from some German source.
  12. We there be Scott Nicholls caps there? Even last year caps if pos.
  13. He said that after the first two at Cardiff, any if that was any thing to go by. 55,000 will there this year. It's a common tactic to say its a number, so people will rush buy and think they are missing out on something.
  14. Is yours always the car with a Lions scarf and race jackets in the window?!? If so we see you every year.
  15. Thats where we buy ours from on the day, there are about 3 booths what you can buy tickets from.
  16. Its on the main road, Millienieum Stadium Ticket Office Nice People
  17. I Can Not Believe No Final!!! Also, we have bloody Bonnie Tyler on, I would prefer a tribute act of something like the Blues Brothers in 2003.
  18. A lot of sponsors ie. free tickets go on the home straight, never fully took up though.
  19. I dont trust the FIM's figures nor the stadium capacities given out. FIM's declaration something to do with the taxman. Bydgoszcz was a sell out last year, only given as 20,000. For that matter BSI have a safety certificate on Millenieum Stadium for 62,500
  20. I realised my mistake. The other comment is mumbling in excitement. Talking to myself
  21. Based on 2005 attendance give out by the FIM and then capacity on BSI's website Speedwayworld.tv. This is the percentage of how full the stadiums were. Everything has been rounded up to two place deicmal. Wroclaw 62.5% Eskilstuna 60% Krsko 58.3% Cardiff 60.8% Copenhague 73.8% Prague 60.37% Maillia 83.33% Bydgoszcz 70.59% Lonigo 75% Maillia was the most popularist mainly down to a Swedish World Champion, Lonigo is the suprise but that is a small stadium. Worst is Krsko due to no constant GP rider at the time and no mass Speedway market in Slovenia. Overall, 150,064 People Went Through the Gates at GPs Last Year, averaging 16,673 a meeting. This is unfair due to the smaller stadiums. The total capacity of all the GP Stadium put together is 228,000. Making the GP are attended in the venues on average in 65.81%
  22. Give me a bit of time, someone posted the attendance figures of last year's GPs and I will see what percentage of them are full of capacity. Speedway is 3rd in Sky's Ratings. Cricket is 2nd. Two sports above it what Sky have monopolised coverage of. I know plenty of people who watch Speedway idly on Sky, they know there is a track at Coventry and Peterborough but no clue where etc. I have also been told Speedway comes across better when the presenters and commentators are actually in the Stadium and not locked in some studio in Kent. My Uncle not a Speedway fan watched the WTC Final from Wroclaw live, he said it was not the most exciting racing but with Sky being there, the atmosphere came across a lot better.
  23. On the University grounds, we do never had any trouble with it. Every time I pass on info, I keep getting more excited.
  24. I realised the GP track staff only have 3 days to set up the track till Friday's practice best get their skates on. Weather best be good, the rituals of Cardiff will be washed away. The Football match on the University grounds called off, no party-like dresses. I know a couple of people we go with are having a competition to see whose uniform costs the cheapest.
