07/09/21 1830 Kent v Scunthorpe (Champ)
Jaizer replied to Old Crusader's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tbh my biggest issue is TS being implemented at 6 points down. If for example get a 5-1 in heat 13 to go 6 up, TS brought in to heat 14 gives impetus to losing team going into heat 15. I think should either be 10 points or between heats 5 and 12 like it used to be -
Sad news the founder of the stripes, Ian hoskins, passing away. Bit before my time but saw him interviewed several times over the years, always seemed like a showman. RIP

Greivesy was good for a roller in his day but the greatest exponent I seen was Peter Carr. Tbh I don't have issue with rolling, don't hit the tapes don't see what the problem is -

That's what the rule used to be. Changed couple years ago I see no reason why it needed to change. End of day it's the entertainment industry, what's entertaining about the best rider on the night being replaced by a reserve in the biggest heat of the night. I've watched broc all season for Glasgow and haven't seen him jump or roll at all. Again with cookie, I've not seen him rolling but then I did in his Edinburgh days. Maybe my red and white tinted specs there though. They've all got a long way to go before catch the sarj on that one though -

Don't like it as a rule is all I'm saying. Heat 15 is the pinnacle of the meeting best riders of the night, for that then to end in a reserve replacing a teams top scorer I don't like. Look at belle Vue last night, one heat called back and warning given when was just a perfect start -

Not sure I like that rule. Ruined heat 15 as a spectacle surely broc being excluded for what is a minor offence. -

Berwick v Glasgow Saturday 11 September, 7pm

Quite right to get out relatively unscathed. Sure he'll be fired up against us, always has been since he left. Long as he gets out safe and sound that's main thing!! -
Berwick v Glasgow Saturday 11 September, 7pm

Didn't realise spud was retiring, was just thinking he might have been worth a punt next season on a sub 7 average. Pretty apt last meeting against Glasgow, served us well as skipper. Can't help thinking could've achieved a bit more on better machinery but been good servant to the northern speedway scene. Best of luck in future endeavours -
Poole Pirates Vs Plymouth Gladiators 8th September
Jaizer replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think broc is guesting for scunny at Kent tonight, might fancy the job tomorrow as well. Seems to have taken a liking to the Poole track -
Would much rather have had that than the nonsense of premier trophy or whatever reincarnation they call it on the fixture list
-
Yeah exactly it was all done over the course of a weekend could go to all 4 tracks. Was a great weekend. That's a shame, would love to see it reinstated
-
Just looking at nowak in 4TT action there. Whatever happened to the old school format with the qualifiers? Used to love that, we'd usually have Edinburgh, Berwick and Newcastle. Match held at each of the home tracks, winner over 4 legs went to the final. Was something different really enjoyed it

Had genuine entertainers like rubber man Frank smart and jesper Olsen, pantomime villains like Robert Eriksson and Nikki P, and some characters. Professionalism has taken so much of that away
-
I'd say the era with stoney, Sean Wilson, Dave mullet, Peter Carr, Les and Neil Collins, Kenny mckinna, James Grieves, Craig Watson etc would be stronger than now. Every team pretty much had an out and out number 1 some of racing was magic

Didn't smarzlik sign for Birmingham in premiership few years ago? Pretty sure he wasn't on an 5.00

Leicester v Glasgow 4th September
Jaizer replied to Happy Hunter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As I've said before even Steve Lawson and Shane Parker had dips. Problem this season is it's amplified as no rasser to help him out -

To try turn into a positive. In both matches if even had 5/6 points from nowak at reserve it's a much different match. If we do return to Poole or Leicester in the play offs cookie hopefully be more on top of his game, Sam improved as each meeting went on and will know the tracks now. I do feel lack of a genuine second heat leader will kill us in long run -

Lol well that just sums the whole thing up. Broc been watching the ballad of Ricky Bobby tonight? "If you're not first you're last" -
