Bit negative on here regarding Scunny signings or to quote Dad’s Army (we’re all doomed), if it is Allen and Douglas the last 2 signings Scunny have the makings of a decent team, you just never know in speedway what will happen.
Done my shift on away tracks in the 70’s/80’s, can’t be arsed with all the travelling now, besides why would I want to when Scunny just down the road serves up such good racing.
Forgot to say Dan, yes you have a sad life lol.
Having got to an age where I am not bothered anymore going to away matches, I think Aarnio will be a decent signing as he rides the Scunny track well even if his away form is a little suspect, after all we kept Auty for home matches as his away form was generally piss poor.
Whatever the team I will be there, even if we don’t have a Leicester City football club moment again as we did in 2012 , the racing is more important than trophies, at least we are not a laughing stock as in the 70’s, Up the Scorpions !
From what I have heard on the grapevine and I could be wrong (er indoors always says I am ) Ryan Douglas is not a great fan ,perhaps why he never came back to Scunny after his year out, of Josh Auty so it is either one or the other
This team will do for me, i’m just grateful that Scunthorpe have a speedway team, from the poor teams of the 1970’s till now 50 years on Scunthorpe with one of the best RACING tracks are still here with many other tracks having closed down along the way.
Rob Godfrey gets a lot of slagging off on this forum but without him I doubt there would be any speedway in the town, long may it continue whoever rides.
Douglas, Allen and Palin, and I believe Lambert is already signed, the rest No Thanks, Morris, Kinsley and Auty been there , don’t want to go there again.
Hope Jake Allen comes back with Thomas Jorgensen, Adam Ellis, Jordan Palin ,Connor Mountain, Zaine Kennedy and persevere with Josh McDonald.
by the time my post is listed it will be for the 2023 season lol
