  1. The Commonwealth games stadium is only 5 mins away, that mcDs will do a roaring trade
  2. Think Glasgow will have a bit in hand over brummies, I, ll predict 50-40 to the away team
  3. Billboards have been tried, even in the league topping season in the elite league, it didn't do anything, I will be very surprised if Brum are running next season, asking myself will they see this season out, Tolley can't keep on throwing money on a project that clearly the people of Birmingham don't want, be sad to see speedway disappear from Brum but that's the way it's looking
  4. Can't see Leicester not winning this massively, my prediction is going to 64-26
  5. Going for a 45 all draw, Brummies need to win the home matches but again I think its down to the reserves, shanes should get at least 6 or 7 points tonight, hopefully pearson can weigh in with 4 or 5, if the don't it's a Plymouth win
  6. To be fair and most people won't admit it, but speedway in Brum will never return not if but when we close down, I was in Perry Barr today and asked a fair few youngsters about Birmingham Speedway and I would say 95% of them had not even got a clue about speedway, when I pointed out the stadium was just 200 yards up the road, they were correct in saying it was a dog track but did not know of any motor sport taking place there, shopkeepers I spoke too are also a bit oblivious about speedway, most of them are wishing we never got the commonwealth games too, apart from the odd banner here and there unless you are a speedway fan most people do not know they greyhound stadium also runs speedway. Going back to cricket etc when Birmingham Bears have a T20 match in most of South Brum you will know about it a few days before either by a fly poster or word of mouth, don't see this happening with the speedway
  7. Maybe with Birmingham, there are lots of sports venues to attend, some areas only have a speedway track nearby which gives the kids something to do, but Brum has football, cricket, tennis courts, rugby etc so it's hard for speedway to compete, I agree about the stadium prices though, bloody daylight robbery in my opinion
  8. Villas average attendance last year 37000 Birmingham 18000, this year will be lower between both as St Andrews was half closed, 20000 on a waiting list is total rubbish, Villa, Birmingham, West Brom, Wolves all have gaps in the stadium, not one of them ever get a complete sell out, even the young kids in Brum don't support the local football teams, they have all been brought up on the sky big 6 phenomenon, speedway in Brum is never going to attract, it would have happened in the elite league days when we topped the standings if it was ever going to happen
  9. the answer is NO, speedway in Birmingham is hardly even mentioned these days unless its between the diehards, ask any young kids about speedway they look at you like your from another planet, Birmingham can hardly fill the football stadiums, 55,000 average between Villa and Birmingham is terrible for the size of Birmingham, kids love the T20 cricket in Brum, offers great value and entertainment, unfortunately speedway cant compete
  10. When Vissing and Ellis were announced i thought we would reach the play offs, unfortunately too many inconsistencies throught out the team, only Stefan Nielsen has been pretty good, Sedgeman come in and done well but the others have been below bang average, losing Ellis was a massive blow, now we will struggle to stay off bottom place, unfortunately this is probably the last season in Birmingham Speedway history, our one chance to build a competitive team and attract fans back as failed miserably, I do feel sorry for the new promotion but at the end of the day as in all sports you need a winning team to attract good support, it just has not worked out and I would say Brummies speedway are done for
  11. Not a chance of the play offs, damage already been done.
  12. Can't Pearson pick up a team slot in the lower division?, the kid looks shot to pieces at Birmingham, it's a shame because there is obviously potential but Brum can't tap into it for some reason, Rowe would be an excellent choice but will or can the Brummies afford it, Auty supposed to be back sometime in July, Vissing I don't think will see the season out, very worrying times for Brum and the fan numbers are dwindling, on recent performances we would be hard pressed to beat Newcastle who many say are the weakest team in the league, over to you Laurence Rogers,
  13. Reserves need to outscore their rivals, they play a big role in a meeting if the opposition reserves score 10-12 points and your reserves pick up only 5 to 6 then you are almost certainly going to lose more matches than you win, but in saying that you do need your heat leaders to score biggish, Brummies are struggling and as said before heats 13-15 we tend to lose the heats, but again i will say our reserves are costing us big time at the moment, we cant seem to get an heat advantage in heat 2 either, Rogers needs to pull a few rabbits out the hat before the season turns even more disastrous
  14. Was just going to say the same, if Brum are not at least 8 points ahead by heat 12, we lose, we just look so weak and vulnerable in heats 13, 14 and 15, things have to change
  15. Would Vissing have scored so many ? probably around the same i would say
  16. Brummies are being killed at reserve, I know the kid pearson is only 16 but looks out of his depth and lacking in confidence, ultimately his lack of points is costing the Brummies, glad Stefan Nielsen is finding his form, team changes must happen if we are to avoid the wooden spoon, i know people will say im being harsh on the young lad pearson, but its a results business, back in 2010 we had Jake Anderson who was hardly scoring a point but the other 6 lads were scoring for fun to cover it, this brummies team dont have Jason Lyons, Sweetman and Johnno and Aaron Summers to score at least 40 points per meeting between them to help the poor kid out
  17. People hate successful teams in all sports, people hated man utd for years, now it's hatred for Man C and Liverpool in football, in speedway its Poole because of the continued success over the last few years, funny old lot us Brits, we always love a loser
  18. Think it will be curtains soon for the brummies, actually I get the feeling before the season is out, surely we are running at a loss, you can't run a house on green shield stamps(older fans will know what I mean).
  19. Time to get Drury out of retirement, he would have at least tried to get a draw out of it, Oxford basically gifted the win here, but to be honest did deserve to win
  20. Who made that heat 15 decision for brummies, has soon as I saw line up I knew we had lost, terrible decision
  21. In these difficult times where money is hard to find to even warm the house, Birmingham do this, the club will probably cease to exist beyond the end of June, the fans have been lied to about Ellis and then say Adam knew the arrangement before he left well the fans were not told this, very amateur from the club, people will not trust anything from the Perry Barr promotion ever again. Brummies should be one of the top clubs in the country based on history, location etc but are just a laughing stock, LR is an experienced speedway man and is letting the brummie fans down time and time again, poor decision making and weak signings
  22. Sorry mate, I had to phone an ambulance for my wife not so long ago, there was no 6 hour wait, the ambulance was at my home within 40 mins, thankfully it turned out to be only Kidney Stones, but there was no way it was anywhere near 6 hours waiting. Speedway is a very dangerous sport and should be ready to cater for an emergency, the risk of a serious injury at a speedway track is far greater than most sports, it needs to be sorted because having no ambulance in a sporting evnt in todays day and age is totally unacceptable
  23. I understand that, but any sporting event should not be allowed to go ahead without adequate cover, it should be mandatory that at least 2 ambulaces are available, at least 2 qualified medics should be at the tracks, riders should be allowed to go to the tracks knowing that in such a dangerous sport that their care in the event of an accident is second to none, Imagine this happening in F1, the drivers would be appalled and refuse to race, even Cricket and Tennis have adequate cover, Speedway needs bringing into the 21st century and should be making clubs have proper full cover for medical emergencies, whether that be riders or spectators.
