  1. Nice one Mat cheers...yes indeed it's working Oh dear...one heat gone and my two have suffered already !
  2. Does anyone know if it can be watched online ? It's surely on Polish TV, so I guess it's available somewhere... ???
  3. Nah, would've been better later in the meeting...for their 3rd or 4th rides. Heat 3's too early on that dodgy track.
  4. You're right about Greg Quality race though... I think that was the night when Mikael Max rode better than ever...and his girlfriend/wife was sat in front of us, properly screaming her head off ! I'm guessing it's 2001...at Bydgoszcz obviously
  5. Fair post above, Subedei... Personally, I think if strange things happen and Adams takes the crown, then it's farewell on a massive high, at the end of the season. If he gets a good second, then it'll give him a taste to go one better next year, and could actually fire him up properly ! But if his season levels out and he scrambles for a medal then again it's bye-bye. Hancock...well injuries have affected his points, and to be honest, I wouldn't miss him from the series...but I suspect he'll finish well and be back next year. With Scott Nicholls hopefully
  6. Great post Lezaw And Coventry legend, and my favourite rider ever. And what a gentleman indeed the best. I can see you're a charismatic and fair man yourself ! Thanks for making me smile
  7. Fair play, my mistake Out of interest, does the above quote of yours not equate to "a second chance" for Hampel already ? Not that I have any issues with the guy. I just like to be entertained when I watch speedway, couldn't care less about official rankings or who's seeded or qualified. I, like others, come up with my own list of who the best 15 riders in the World are...and only once were they all in the GP series. Scott entertains me more, to use Hampel as an example for the argument, and I happily disregard history, club, nationality or potential I'm afraid
  8. Actually Jarek finished outside of the Top 8 last year and was seeded a place for 2007. I think it's pointless discussing who might be seeded next year, when we have 4 GP's to go, as well as a GP Final that will have a major bearing on the decisions taken, right or wrong.
  9. Yes, but Hampel has missed a round and Jaguś has blanked while injured, and still Scott can only match their totals. That's the point, in this case. What I don't get is why we're all supposed to stop supporting Scott just because he ain't done that well... Each to their own, I say...and I don't think being dictated to is really the way to go.
  10. AJ is hoping to ride in the Latvian GP. 75% at the moment...
  11. It was the incident that Greg spoke about at the Czech GP. That's why he felt so beat up.
  12. Fair enough Any chance that the terminally deluded can be left alone now, to enjoy their equally low standard Scott Nicholls ? Nah, forget that...I know what the answer will be...
  13. That second incident was one of those things in racing, but the problem came after, as Greg lay on the track, Krzysztof spoke to him in (alledgedly) a very unsporting way ! His actions were reported to the referee by the medics, who were shocked, I'm told.
  14. I'm afraid it takes more than that to shock me...you must be a sensitive soul in your old age
  15. Correct, Scott was actually 4 places AHEAD of Hampel last year, in 6th place overall, when he was injured and forced to miss his favourite GP. Had Scott scored his usual Prague total in that meeting then he would have finished in the Top 8 Actually, it was a positive appreciation thread turned into a "slag off Nicholls thread" by Vincent Vega, Hansfan and one or two others may have joined-in...
  16. Przepraszamy Lezaw I forgot to say that I think Krzysztof Cegielski had everything required to become World Champion. He was simply brilliant and of course the early end to his career was a great loss to Polish speedway, as well as to the rest of us. As for Kasprzak, indeed he has big problems around him, but never in this country. So I guess his mind is different when riding at home.
  17. I pretty much agree with Frigbo there, but I'll word it differently Polish riders tend to reach their best level very early in their careers. Most drop back quite quickly, some stay at that level. It's strange ! I guess it's because they are pushed so hard by their clubs/managers at home. As well as the fact that the modern Polish generation is a very determined one. I think that while there is still a big variety of tracks in the GP series, we won't be seeing a Polish Individual World Champion yet. I would say the best way for a Polish rider to advance at a good rate over all track types would be to ride in the Polish and British Leagues only, over at least 5 years. Swedish tracks are quite neutral and don't lend themselves to improving rider techniques. If a really good Polish kid took on the British Premier League for 2 seasons, then the Elite (or whatever our future set-up is) for 3 seasons...while riding in the top league at home, then Poland might just get the Champion they are waiting for...and richly deserve That's my opinion anyway...
  18. Cool But was this meeting really the best time to give him those rides ?!
  19. Only one person has moaned about the meeting, as far as I can see. The track got some stick (because it could have been so much better) but generally it's been agreed that it was a good meeting. As for Hans, he lacks the speed he found when he was fired up last year. He's too easy to pass as well...he's gone from being too hard to too soft ! And last night he hugged the kerb and was so slow he caused problems behind him, as they were queueing up to get by, but they daren't leave the inside themselves !
  20. I think Poole should employ her... Nowadays Pirates should always have a couple of inflatables ready for when the boat sinks
  21. The track gets quite a lot more use during practice than it does during the GP. And of course, most of the riders use the same line all the time, they don't go anywhere near the fence...and so, the track gets battered. It then takes a lot of work and a lot of packing to try to ensure the inside does not rut up for the GP. There is one, and only one, very simple solution... Don't practice ! In my opinion, it's absolutely unnecessary...and the GP's would be richly enhanced if they binned it. It actually would have made life easier and brought down costs if they'd done it years ago, but there ya go...
  22. You're brilliant at being wrong no wonder you're a speedway rider ! Ya brains are in the right place... Let me know when he wins at the highest level... (I'll help you out...that means a World title, yeah ?!)
