  1. Very important, these selections. And I know Nicki Pedersen agrees ! Mark Loram, Great Britain (Good for us Brits, not sure the rest of Europe would agree) Lukas Dryml, Czech Republic (Obvious) Mikael Max, Sweden (Mikael Karlsson - yes, Max - no ) Lee Richardson, Great Britain (No thanks, then he'd find out just how it feels to get shat on) Hans Andersen, Denmark (Don't like him, don't rate him) Jarek Hampel, Poland (Fair choice)
  2. 1971, Gemini ?! That particular D.Walsh must have been about 7 years old :?
  3. 37 - I'll go for Gundersen and Al Grahame 39 - Jan O. I'll take the easy ones... 42 - Rick Miller 46 - Jan O. more guessing.... 35 - Kelly the Jelly 48 - Peter Ravn 41 - Mark Loram 43 - Lance King
  4. So it's yours then !! Anyway....are any of the existing photo's "unanswered"...not forgetting I'm crap at these !
  5. It's gotta be Shawn Moran's brolly. And the last and only time I looked at this thread there was only 6 or 7 pictures to guess !! Someone's been busy
  6. Picked up my Speedway Star on time this week, for a change... And it's given me a right laugh... Check out Page 29 to see a man PERFECTLY suited to wearing the "Golden Helmet". Quality 8)
  7. To be fair though, if I was born when those pictures were taken, I was almost certainly drunk !
  8. 4 looks like John Louis and Kevin Jolly (?!) 6 could be Lance King, Peter Collins and err....Andy Smith ! :?:
  9. I don't know if anyone's noticed but I'm not Crump's biggest fan But to be honest, that won't change whether he's World No. 1, 2, 3 or 4. It hurts to write it down, but I even admit he deserves a world title. Having spoken to his main rival earlier this week, I cannot believe just how casually he's taking it all. It's strange to think that Nicki isn't fired-up to win it overall. Obviously he's gonna do his best to win the meeting, just like he has in all the others, but it's a weird vibe I'm gettin'. Sorry, can't explain it very well. I have to say though, if Crump does win - I can't see ANYONE getting the crown off him for the next 3 years. Pressure is something he hasn't often dealt with very well. One title should be all it takes to see him get over that hurdle. But if he doesn't win it, I think it's safe to say he never will.
  10. A good day out, thanks to the Forum I think I spotted 30 of us in total ! The 6 that qualified were the 6 that deserved it. As for Simon Stead, face facts, he's already been knocked out of the qualifying rounds twice this year. Just how many chances does he NEED ! He should never have been given the place when Howe pulled-out. For various reasons it could have gone to either Nicholls, Richardson, Robson, Barker, Norris, Havelock, Screen, Harris etc etc. Tut-tut. As for the racing, it was certainly rough and tough. Some good moves, some surprises and personally it was a shame that Janniro didn't make it, but he just wasn't up to the job. Charlie Gjedde's tactics were obvious...hit and hope  It didn't work ! 8)
  11. Brilliant GP Brilliant weekend Only problem was, we all got sore cheeks from laughin' at Crump. Well chuffed that my two faves got to the Final and appreciated the fact that we were told Lukas was okay(ish) within 5 minutes of the crash.
  12. You're not alone Pirate, I obviously didn't deserve a mention off BTL either. And I'm fairly sure he even got a drink off me in the POW as well ! I'd have thought that was reason enough for a Scotsman not to forget me
  13. Phil, I've got hold of some unofficial programmes mate. No worries And the banner's on it's way too...
  14. Not forgetting that Hans never did qualify. And how many people at Cardiff would rather see Hans than Harris :?: 8)
  15. I'll be at Sam's before 2 probably ! Anyway, see ya's all there 8)
  16. Cheers for that Wes ! My verdict on the fence at Heusden.....it's the same, impact-wise as at Kings Lynn. So it's not great but it's better than some. Let us know if you're going Kevin H....you can send updates
  17. For now Kevin, I can tell you from memory it's about 35 miles the other side of Brussels. So it's not a very long drive. I think it's the A2 out of Brussels but any decent Euro map will show you. Heusden-Zolder, as you might expect, is right between Heusden and errr...Zolder 8) The track's a decent size, about 370m. Usually slick but that's no problem and it's a good atmosphere. It's the only speedway track in Belgium by the way.
  18. It is a bit of a dodgy one this....but I guess the right people felt that Mark was there to make a genuine attempt to race despite his injuries. Also, after making that effort, it was too late to replace him. Let's not forget he's paid for those points too, I suppose. In more ways than one ! Let's hope he's fit and fast for the next one.
  19. I must admit I had a great one for Crump but I feared a ban so I left it alone !!
  20. Tony Rickardsson was listening to TooEasy FM on 106.3 Peter Karlsson stuck with his usual, the Golden Hour on Classic FM. Nicki Pedersen always tunes to KissMyAss FM on 93.6 Ryan Sullivan would have been tuned to his fave DJ, Billy Nomates on Hospital Radio Does that help ?
  21. Sorry Lupus, but that was a temporary track mate. And therefore it was bad. Parts of the track were left down from last years GP but without using it, which of course they couldn't, it never had a chance to improve. Temp' tracks will always be bad unless they find a way of having some banking.
  22. It's the 8th of June, the last quarter-final. Line-up: Chris Slabon, Canada Kenneth Bjerre, Denmark Niklas Klingberg, Sweden Magnus Zetterström, Sweden Warren Meier, South Africa Ales Dryml, Czech Republic Simon Stead, England Bohumil Brhel, Czech Republic Joonas Kylmakorpi, Finland Leigh Lanham, England Craig Watson, Australia Lukas Dryml, Czech Republic Henk Bos, Holland Roman Povazhny, Russia Robbie Kessler, Germany Mark Lemon, Australia
  23. Not forgetting they also handicap the riders in the Ladbroke Olympique at Wolverhampton. Your first race from the startline, then the more points you score in that - the further back you go for your next start.
  24. It's a big thing in American racing, handicap events. Sometimes up to 4 rows of riders, whether it's 1, 2 or 3 riders at the different yard-markers. It's great to watch even on their tiny tracks. Bring it on Phil !! Is this ya plan for the 24th at the Sheffield TT ??!!
  25. Not quite Kevin.... 1st Germany 65 Christian Hefenbrock 14 Matthias Schultz 12 Thomas Stange 8 Mirko Wolter 19 Ronny Weis 12 2nd Slovenia 62+4 Matej Zagar 15+4 Izak Santej 17 Jernej Kolenko 12 Ales Dolinar 12 Denis Stojs 6 3rd Latvia 62+3 Andrej Koroljovs 17+3 Nikolaj Kokins 13 Alexander Biznya 8 Vladimir Voronkov 13 Denis Popovich 11 4th Italy 40 Armando Castagna 15 Christian Miotello 5 Emiliano Sanchez 13 Simone Terenzani 7 Alessandro Dalla Valle 0 5th Austria 19 Fritz Wallner 10 Markus Pichler 5 Ivan Nagar 1 Rene Pfeiffer 2 Oliver Özelt 1 Which puts Germany into Group 1 with Denmark, Finland and the Czechs. Slovenia join Australia, America and the Brits in the tough Group 2 and Sweden, Poland, Russia and Hungary in Group 3.
