  4. Too tired to go to work today, but I'll probably bother tomorrow - so I'll bring my memory stick home with me and forward the GP card to those who've asked. I won't forget !
  5. If anybody wants a 2005 GP spreadsheet, to fill in while watching Sky or just for messing about on , send me an e-mail and I'll forward it, no probs. It's not so easy this year, what with a wildcard AND track reserves, but it seems to work okay. Please note:- A reasonable amount of brain cells are required to fill it out successfully, so I won't hold my breath for an e-mail from a Wolves fan.
  6. I remember Simon Wigg saying that the subject of left-hander's had been discussed a few times by riders...and they all agreed that it's easier for left-handed people to race speedway. Because the positioning of the bike in the bends is controlled mainly with the left-hand side and the strength required comes mainly from the right. Which would definitely come more naturally to left-hookers. Also your reflexes are faster in your most-used hand...meaning consistently fast clutch-release is more likely to us lefties too . But I wonder which of today's top-boy's are left-handed...if any
  7. I've sorted a GP game out for us, I don't have time to go into it now, but if people were happy with last year's (which I can't even remember!?) then it's cool to go with that sort of thing again. Mine's less "Fantasy League", more a simple gambling game involving nerve and cunning! It worked well during winter testing {edit} Actually...assuming the "Fantasy League" requires just one pre-GP-season selection, we could run both games easily enough. Mine needs a new selection for each GP and I spent hours and hours settin' it up on a spreadsheet , so I'd be gutted if we didn't play it
  8. It's not a premature fact Subedei, it's a fact. Robert Miskowiak IS the wildcard for Wroclaw and good luck to him.
  9. Yeah, at one point I almost got a word in Sorry for taking over your thread Pirate Paul, it must be all the thoughts of Cardiff....
  10. yeah, but this Forum is not a good place to advertise it
  11. Was that the one when it poured with rain ? Guess so, brilliant trip, so I'm with ya on that one. I'd like Lonigo - Italy again too, home of the best GP ever, IMO. Although I was in the pits and the view wasn't great
  12. I was happy with the introduction of the Grand Prix in '95, the old Championship format - not just the Final but the qualifying system too - had gone stale. But so too has the current GP system, to be honest I lost most of my interest 2 years ago. Most of what The Know wrote above is spot on, and who cares if part of the reason for change is to reduce costs, isn't that a good thing ? My only slight concern with the 2005 format is the fact that riders might have a permanent GP number AND a meeting number ?! Confusing for most of us halfwits I'd like to see practice, as it is, scrapped. And that pathetic flag-carrying nonsense after each heat. Oh, and half-price entry to all GP's for Polish fans...
  13. Here's a clue Fd... this year I got home just after 2 last year it was 3.30 !!
  14. There'll be an official meeting(over a pint) to sort out which way the Forum Family will be joining forces in Cardiff 2005. Obviously everyone's welcome to say they want to be a part of it, as I do, but for now let's just say we owe a big thankyou to False dawn for the stressful effort he had to put in. Cheers David you did well mate ! Next year's party will be announced as soon as
  15. Argh, but that might have led to a "Woody gets wood" headline !
  16. Nice one Lt, that's put a stupid grin on me face. As Fd said, thanks for leaving out what you needed too !!
  17. Correct ! But we still don't know who took the picture of mine and Woody's feeble attempt at a human pyramid....
  18. Not me - but the long-term steward I got quite pally with, over the course of the night, came up with "close to 40,000 boyo".
  19. I don't think it could have worked out better. Nice one Sam Never heard a word of it
  20. (Apologies for the negative tone of this post) I took a lot of baggage to Cardiff this year, full of other people's problems. Unfortunately I didn't cope with it very well at all. For those I helped, I'm glad. For those I didn't, I am truly sorry. And for those that helped me, particularly the man who had to coax me into the stadium, thank you so much. In the main, you lot are a lovely bunch of people. The best. And there were plenty of enjoyable times over the day. But personally, Cardiff 2004 goes down as a day I want to forget. x
  21. And Joanne will no doubt ask someone to introduce her to The Grim Reaper There may be no comeback from that one Jo !!
  22. Order me a couple of bottles, please Matt. Cheers Jill !
  23. Can't believe you won't be there ML ! You'll be missed I'm almost ready for Cardiff, I've been practising sarcasm all week. It's not something I'm used to doing really, but hey I'll try anything once. I might find a place for the Forum banner outside's Sam's, this year. If I can FIND the banner !?
