  1. He ran a 5th place, but the 6th rider was either excluded or didn’t start in that heat I think
  2. Checking out a live feed for the Czech golden helmet to see how Doyle is getting on… He looked good in the 2 heats I’ve seen him in so far
  3. Just thinking about the 2nd leg on Monday night... If Doyle doesn't make it, do we have to use Harris as he guested in the first leg or can we look to an alternative? Obviously he was brilliant last night, but by his own admission NSS is not his favourite track
  4. He appeared very limp as he was thrown around and into the fence - no bracing or attempt to protect himself and I'm sure he hit the side of his head on the track as he initially left the bike, so presumably it was at that point he went out...
  5. The only route left this year for a 2024 spot is via a wildcard, but I guess this is unlikely with current FIM rulings… don’t know if this will be reviewed any time soon?
  6. I disagree, with no GP involvement, I think Emil and AL will want to maximise their earnings
  7. I can see little parallels with 1999 team building… Rickardsson, Louis and Gollob become Emil, Doyle and King in the 2024 version… Management’s loyalty to King either creates a very very long tail or (and I hope this isn’t the case) like 99 forces one of the big 2 out! If the latter happens then I’d be inclined to get Masters in, great at foxhall and currently on 7.61
  8. Didn’t Jenkins guest for Lynn last night though? Admittedly not in the RS position, but seems ok
  9. 60 - 30... I expect half of those points will come from Robert Lambert working on the basis he could have 6 rides
  10. I'm desperate for a Witches win to keep the slim playoff hopes alive, but think Wolves have a little too much strength in depth... It's going to need an off night from a couple of Wolves for us to get anything
  11. I think most of us thought that we were fruitlessly chasing Sheffield for the last play off spot, but looks like Leicester are doing their best to self destruct... They've opened the door for us.. I think we'll beat them at home and looking at their fixtures, there's some tough ones in there. This might not be over!
  12. Any further news on ‘Laguta watch’ ?? There is another possibility… he does actually turn up… get roasted by Emil in heat one, lays the bike down, cites an aggravation of an old injury and withdraws from the meeting… Completely farcical I know, but probably in keeping with the general way of things
  13. I would 100% keep Doyle, Emil, Rew and Dan T. I can only see Rew getting better after a years experience in England. Plus Dan is still so young and improving all the time - how could you not being around the top 2?! Would love to see a gamble on another young rider or 2 from Europe - surely Louis is able to tap up a couple of fresh talents with all his SGP and SGP2 work?
  14. Will need some hard chargers that’s for sure!
  15. Totally agree with this and yes think we will win all bar the Wolves meeting... Other than the obvious 2 suspects, I can't see where the remaining points would come from to win at Monmore.
  16. So on to KL at home on Thursday then… do we think Artem will show up? I think probably not, but happy to be surprised
  17. Witches heat leaders should score well and I think Rew will improve on his score from the visit at the start of the season - Will be interesting to see if Riss has sorted his mechanical gremlins and can get in the mix for points? It also looks like it's on local radio - Hopefully my attempt at sharing the link works... BBC Radio Cambridgeshire - Cambridgeshire Sport: Speedway, 07/08/2023
  18. Could easily see this going to a last heat decider - looking forward to tuning in
  19. Confidence is still way off... He looked so nervy when anyone got close to him and then of course they sail by!
  20. Lots of comments here that have summed up the situation really well... I think two other significant factors with Danny King are... 1. As captain he doesn't come across that he has fire in his belly... his interviews or the coin toss are always mild mannered at best, which is just his character I guess. So maybe he shouldn't be put in that position and the Witches hand the armband to Doyle, who many would have as skipper if given a choice. 2. It's been mentioned earlier in this thread, but staleness is a major factor. He knows he's in the team regardless - Fans want to be excited when team building rolls around, not let out a collective groan when the rider they 99.9999% expected to be in is announced.
  21. Yeah... It took me a while to cotton on to it, but definitely feels like we are keeping Riss for the remainder of the season... You never know, he might be dialled in by the time the Cup final rolls around in September, although as always, Sheffield will be a tough ask!
