  1. So on to KL at home on Thursday then… do we think Artem will show up? I think probably not, but happy to be surprised
  2. Witches heat leaders should score well and I think Rew will improve on his score from the visit at the start of the season - Will be interesting to see if Riss has sorted his mechanical gremlins and can get in the mix for points? It also looks like it's on local radio - Hopefully my attempt at sharing the link works... BBC Radio Cambridgeshire - Cambridgeshire Sport: Speedway, 07/08/2023
  3. Could easily see this going to a last heat decider - looking forward to tuning in
  4. Confidence is still way off... He looked so nervy when anyone got close to him and then of course they sail by!
  5. Lots of comments here that have summed up the situation really well... I think two other significant factors with Danny King are... 1. As captain he doesn't come across that he has fire in his belly... his interviews or the coin toss are always mild mannered at best, which is just his character I guess. So maybe he shouldn't be put in that position and the Witches hand the armband to Doyle, who many would have as skipper if given a choice. 2. It's been mentioned earlier in this thread, but staleness is a major factor. He knows he's in the team regardless - Fans want to be excited when team building rolls around, not let out a collective groan when the rider they 99.9999% expected to be in is announced.
  6. Yeah... It took me a while to cotton on to it, but definitely feels like we are keeping Riss for the remainder of the season... You never know, he might be dialled in by the time the Cup final rolls around in September, although as always, Sheffield will be a tough ask!
  7. Should be a comfortable home win... Doyle will probably return to form in style, Emil very unlikely to drop points and I think Rew will have a good night... If King and Hume can chip in like they tend to do at home, then it really won't matter if Riss doesn't score... 51-39
  8. Key thing here though is confidence and momentum... and Leicester have it abundance right now. Personally I think Laguta will do well to get to 10 from 5 rides... Potential for 3 races vs Fricke, another with Bomber likely all over him and Lawson no slouch, so as much as it would be great as a spectacle to be close, I can't see it.
  9. Was thinking the same and with likely 6 rides for Emil, I’ll say yes to 30… just!
  10. When are the next averages out that would change Riss' existing average? Anyone know how much it is likely to drop? If a change is going to be made, can't help feeling it needs to be fairly pronto to take advantage of what he is on now.
  11. Just realised that we are on eurosport at BV on monday... Surely public floggings are outlawed in this day and age
  12. If Bewley is ok after his off on Monday and Kurtz goes as well as he can do at foxhall, then I’m inclined to think that the Aces will nick it
  13. Louis on Radio Suffolk, said he wouldn’t rule out team changes, but any would have to happen quickly… so, we shall see…
  14. Witches will be lucky to get to 40 I think, but might sneak the bonus point
  15. Personally I would stick with Rew... he's only going to get better as he continues to both ride foxhall more and visit the opposition tracks again... I wouldn't be adverse to Batch coming in for Riss, you know he has it in him to upset the oppositions heat leaders, so maybe worth a punt. I'd still consider another change at RS and I know Connor Bailey has been mentioned before, so why not try him?
  16. King and Riss need to come to the party or this could be mighty embarrassing for the Witches
  17. Watching Riss last night was a worry… how long will he be at 6.14 in the averages? Do Ipswich need to cash in and replace him soon so they have more to play with? Although realise there probably isn’t a lot out there…
  18. I think the Witches have a chance of keeping this close… if the 3 heat leaders are dialled in then you’ve got to think they’ll get around 32 or 33 points… If Rew gets to grips with the track quickly then he could get 6 or 7 from reserve, so looking for a handful of points from Barker and Hume… it’s doable for sure, but a couple of big ‘ifs’
  19. A little underwhelming, but if he offers a slightly better points return, then that can only be a good thing… In terms of giving the fans something to get excited about - opportunity missed.
  20. Sorry total lie… Tigers vs Witches is on BSN on Thursday
