Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
MP78 replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There are lots of differing opinions about Ipswich's loss last night, but the key thing for me is that they currently have no momentum and some riders look out of sorts. They really will need to do everything they can to keep it as close as possible, because BV's top 3 will be flying, so that's 30+ points in the bag already - If Cook is on it too then suddenly it's a mountain to climb. Should be a great couple of legs for the neutrals 🤪 -

Ipswich vs King’s Lynn Thursday 21st August

I think Ipswich will take this with a little to spare... Could be the last match for Edwards, I'm assuming Jenkins will come back in, anyone know any more on this? Was also checking earlier and it looks like Emil will be at number 1 for the playoffs -
I think this will be tight... I'm amazed at Becker's recovery, but like others have said, this meeting might be too soon for him to score the points that R/R has been getting in his absence.

Can only see an away win here

It clearly wasn't working as the team was, so makes sense to throw the dice and make a couple of changes

Sheffield v Leicester - BSN 24/07/2025

Sheffield could try and tempt Robert Lambert over for the remainder of the season, but would have to lose Rowe and Kerr for it to be possible... Gilkes would fit. Although that would push Flint into the main body of the team, leaving Sedgmen and Gilkes at reserve. It would be a big gamble and would leave the Tigers with 4 very big hitters at home, but perhaps too long of a tail away from Owlerton. -
Ipswich Witches v Belle Vue 10th July

I think that's a fair comment. If those 4 are on it, then the bonus point is a real possibility. Expect Kurtz to have 6 rides and rack up plenty of points, but Doyle will be up for this too... he won't like the idea of someone coming to his track and out scoring him -

Just basing it on the team declarations on the British speedway website… so perhaps Brum will re-declare at some point and bring Edwards back in. -

Let him go when he got injured and brought Hagon in -

Must admit that I thought the massive favourites comment was amusing... BV favourites for me. Doyle and Emil have had the beating of Bewley and Kurtz in previous seasons, but will struggle to get any over them this year at NSS -
Brummies over 8 points under the limit... sad times indeed
-
This is the quirk of how the Stars are built this year, they could spring a surprise, especially with morale high after monday night... that said, it will take a monumental effort to beat the Tigers on their own patch, even without Pickering.

Ipswich vs Sheffield Thursday 12th June

Masters a good choice on current form. -
Just listened to a Radio Suffolk interview with Chris Louis from Tuesday morning. He said that Thompson is likely to have scans end of next week to see how he is doing and Doyle expected back in 2-3 weeks.
-
I can imagine JD will be desperate to get back to the GPs, as there are 3 in June and he'll probably be worried about staying in the series next year... It might be a stretch to wildcard him in for 2026. Will he try to come back for the Sheffield match at foxhall next thursday or is that too soon?

King's Lynn v Ipswich KO Cup SF 1st leg 02/06/25
MP78 replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With the riders Ipswich have and their liking for the AFA, they should keep this tight. If Brennan comes back into form, then fancy the Witches to nick this -
Should work slightly in Witches favour then, having Emil at 1 and shifting R/R to which position best suits the team for a given match.

Agree with others, narrow away win
