  1. If Sedgy has his gating gloves on tonight then can see a Leicester win, with Belle Vue pushing them hard. The Sheffield duo will need to ride better than on their last visit there to I have any chance of pushing the above teams
  2. With the new July averages out now, what would Sheffield have to play with if they decided to jettison Ellis? As his average seem to be going south every month
  3. Woffinden is definitely on the downward slope, knows he’s been left behind at world level now and will need a ‘pick’ is he’s to continue in SGP (Monster Joe will be pleading his case to keep their sponsored riders in the competition), he’s simply using the UK as an easy option, if he came in on an 8 (ish) average I can see him maintaining that, he’d be well behind the likes of Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley, Kurtz, Holder, Musielak, Fricke to name a few in the averages. Gone are the days when he’ll add numbers to the gate
  4. Doyle riding for Krosno in rearranged league match in Poland, Hawkins has said not in Emil’s contract to ride in Pairs
  5. Problem is Sheffield can’t carry Adam long enough for his average to drop to be number 6, if the promotion aren’t looking now for a replacement it could be too late if left until end of July averages as there’s 6 matches in that period and play off place could be over by then
  6. Massive home win for Redcar, just south of the 60 points haul, 58-32, can see double figures for each of the Bears heat leaders, don’t think the reserve change for Plymouth will stop them being outscored massively down at 6 and 7. Worrall and Howarth go well there but will have work cut out to get near the opposition and depends how much damage was caused to Howarth’s bike last night after tyre exploded as looks like had to change bikes after that
  7. Think this will be Sheffield’s toughest test if the season at home to date, Leicester’s solid top 5 have all shown in the past they can get to the chequered flag first around Owlerton, Sedgeman has done plenty laps around there and fast in front, Harris is Harris and the 3rd to 1st swoop on bends 3/4 the other year live in the memory, Lawson usually good for points and was in the aborted 2020 line up, Morris is a regular guest around the place and agin fast in the lead, Fricke riding superbly well at the moment not really done many laps around Owlerton but that won’t stop him and Allen and Kemp have both ridden for Sheffield in the past and will be stern tests for their opposing numbers. The key areas in this one are the 3 and 4 and reserve combinations, Ellis needs to continue his recent home improvement and Pickering be on the pace straight away as they’ll have it touch against Lawson and Harris. Howarth and Gilkes will need to be on top form to outscore Allen and Kemp who’ve both reached the flag first plenty times be that in a Tigers race jacket or opposition one. The score prediction is a tough one, I’ll go for a home win but nowhere near by as much as recent home wins, 48-42
  8. Lynn might struggle to get 30 this time ;-)
  9. Keeps a solid 6, ensuring a strong reserve and should take any pressure off Gilkes so he can just lean and progress, great move from the Sheffield promotion
  10. Injuries and stuff can happen post season , it’s not always on track
  11. Could Cook’s back injury be the end of it for him? Been out a month with it already and that was without a spill. Could be more around how serious an injury it is currently, or he’s weighing up what it could manifest into with a crash
  12. Laguta riding this weekend fro Wrocław https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1066562/zuzel-najnowszy-komunikat-ws-zdrowia-artioma-laguty - use Google chrome to translate
  13. Just watched last nights Eurosport meeting, Riss just looked exactly like Bellego when Sheffield rode there, so tentative going into bend one, I don’t think he’s gonna be the answer to solve Ipswich’s engine room issues away or at Foxhall
  14. Away at Wolves (3rd April) 3+2 from 4 rides and Sheffield (25th May) 1 from 2 rides where he was injured again, bonus points don’t count to GSA so it’s 4 from 6 rides giving 0.66666667 per ride giving 2.67 average
  15. Bellego out tonight R/R at number 4 for Sheffield so Ellis, Kerr Howarth and Gilkes can take the rides http://www.sheffield-speedway.com/news.php?extend.3296
  16. Rew was abysmal at Owlerton on Thursday, he’s really struggled anywhere apart from odd good meeting at Foxhall, not really seen what the hype is about him in UK and think if there’s inconsistency in the Perry Bar track he’ll struggle there also
  17. Bellego withdrawn after two rides for Bydgoszcz today with after effects from a crash in Germany on Saturday, imagine that’s R/R for him tomorrow which should strengthen Sheffield based on his last visit to Monmore Green
  18. Just seen line ups for tomorrows meeting against Wolves in KO Cup as shows Bellego in main body and Howarth at reserve, take it that new averages start with next Premiership League meeting rather than this one due to KO Cup not counting towards rolling average
  19. Does the new averages with Bellego at reserve not come into play for this one and start with the next league match due to KO Cup scores not counting towards rolling average?
  20. Doyle wast gonna get passed Tobi in Ht1, it’s the kerb line or nothing early doors, should have sat behind and protected Hulme, being on a guarantee it’s not like he needed the extra £ by passing Hulme on 4th bend of last lap. The strop in the pits afterwards was quite funny though
  21. You not seen Doyle then, ultimate at that game right from heat 1, skeletor was at his best tonight with his tantrums
  22. Seems to be if you’re riding OK for Grudziadz they give you the ‘freedom’ to ride where you want, if you’re not scoring well then you’re grounded and it’s Polska only be that for training or meetings. If they just had this sort of rule for the Poles only you’d sort of have to accept us as PZM/Ekstraliga give out the agreement to ride abroad, but should have no control on the foreigners. Suppose it just shows they pay the £££ they run the show
  23. The races between Musielak, Holder, Sayfutdinov and Doyle should be belters, starting from Ht1 with Musielak and Doyle. Sheffield need to win by more than 4 to get the bonus point, Doyle usually flys around Owlerton and don’t think it’ll take Sayfutdinov long to work out how close he can ride to the air fence so expect big points from those two, Ipswich also have King and Barker who have shown they can get around Owlerton, plus Hulme notched up plenty of points when he wore a Tigers race jacket. Rew should do OK with it being a big track. Think Thompson will be just happy to be back on the bike after the concussion. The home boys all need to fire, don’t think Musielak and Holder will need much geeing up to get big points against there opposite big hitters, Ellis trapped OK last week and also Monday just looks to lock speed especially when he waved through Doyle and Sayfutdinov in races at Foxhall, Kerr will want to improve on his 4 paid 7 from last week, Howarth has hopefully overcome his latest knock so will be needing big points at reserve if the bonus point is to come to Sheffield. Gilkes has improved week on week but does need more laps around Sheffield to work out the lines etc, he’ll be wanting 4 rides and points. Then there’s Bellego, brought in to power score at home which really he’s not done to date to compensate for his absolutely abysmal away scoring, he’ll get a new average after Thursdays meeting, but could it be his last as moves to reserve after this one also which seriously weakens Sheffield away from home. Score? Think Sheffield will get the win and bonus point but it won’t be by much, 49-41 home win
