  1. So past the 31st August deadline, makes the top 4 at end of August a mockery out not all fixtures completed
  2. Looking at he Speedway GB site it shows that Peterborough have to arrange to race Sheffield twice at home (possible 6 points for Sheffield inc bonus points) , whilst Wolves need to fit in Leicester at home and Leicester need to fit in Kings Lynn at home all before the end of August deadline that’s in place. These fixtures could impact the final whereabouts of the top 4 teams. I wonder if the promotions will look at where their teams are and who they will face in the plays offs before having to do a (financial loss for the home team) double header before the end of next month as I can’t see when some of the fixtures can be slotted in
  3. It might be to do with what Team GB ask then to do during the year pre this sort of event that has an impact on who gets picked
  4. Nope, can name 10 riders of any age in the squad and same with the final 5, no rule in place to have an u21 in the team
  5. Brennan was in Wrights face in the pits at end of Ht14 with a bit of finger wagging too, then his Mrs old man got involved (Cummings from Ohlins shocks) it all looked a bit like spoilt child not getting his way so called on the muscle. Lemon just needs to have a word with them both as doesn’t look good for the club especially when all can see in the pits at Sheffield. Clear the air session and hopefully all good between them both As for Bewley I think he’s in same boat as a Ellis, best kit on the continent and just use what they have left over here, comment from a few in the pits last night was Bewleys kit looked like ‘a bag of spanner’s’ nothing a mechanic can do if he’s been given the bottom of the barrel to work with
  6. Should be a close one, for Sheffield a lot will depend on what they get from Kerr’s R/R rides as Blodorn has shown he can be score points around Owlerton , expect good battles between Holder/ Musielak and Bewley/Kurtz when they line up together. Pickering and Ellis will need to be on their game to get the better of Wright and Lidsey. Battle of the reserves should be good, Howarth is a good vein of form and Brennan looks fast when he gets out front, think Gilkes should have the beating of Bailey especially with it being his first there. I’ll go for a sneaky home win 47-43
  7. Was a great effort from the Panthers, cab safely say nobody saw that result coming
  8. Big home win, with a lot sorted by bend 2 lap 1. Belle Vue top 2 and engine room will have a good night with only challenge coming from Sayfutdinov and Doyle, Ling might have one decent ride. The good thing for the Aces fans is that they might get to see Emil ride 6 times, 55-35 home win
  9. Comfortable win for Leicester, big scores from Fricke, Lawson and Sedgy, backed up well by rest of the Lions. For Kings Lynn can’t see Klindt performing same as the pairs he’ll have his usual firsts and lasts but will more than likely end up their top scorer with Howarth pulling in a good haul also, don’t think Laguta will take to the track especially going into bend 3, as usual Lambert will give his all for his team, score line of 54-36
  10. If Peterborough get anywhere near the low 30’s they’ll have done a good job, can only see an arse whipping for them tonight
  11. The uncertainty around is it, isn’t it going ahead will definitely have an impact on the crowd tonight. Would have gone to this one but over 4hr round trip might as well just watch the BSN meeting instead
  12. See Lewi Kerr posted that he’s snapped his collarbone in ht1 last night, not sure how long that will keep him out but would imagine that Sheffield will run R/R for him whilst they can (could be at reserve when August averages kick in), will mean an extra ride for Pickering and the other 3 between Gilkes and Howarth.
  13. Will Sheffield finally hit the 60 point marker at the Adrian Flux Arena after going close in the earlier 2023 visits
  14. If Eurosport had of been covering the meeting last night the other 5 heats would have taken place. Peterborough would have been well pleased it got to heat 10 with the last 3 heats been FTG as they are still in with chance of bonus point whereas if rain had stayed away Sheffield would have increased that lead by a fair chunk. Having spoke to one of the riders last night can say it wasn’t a 50/50 split between ride and not ride, the ones who didn’t though whinged a but more. If it’s not flat, slick and dry some just don’t want to know as that’s what they are used to when riding in Polish leagues You could see the rain clouds coming in, track prep to bring what shale was on the track down low to stop it being an ice rink when it did rain would have helped rather than just going round grading the high line after heat 4 which added nothing, same old same old track prep at Sheffield these days, someone new doing the track might help the spectacle at Owlerton as racing not been great for a few years plus the uneven gates that are getting worse look like they’ll never be rectified whilst Graham goes through the motions. A tough one for the Sheffield promotion now as it wasn’t their decision to call the meeting off but if fans don’t get value for their admission fee then seeing only 66% of what they paid for with next week being in Eurosport some will vote with their feet and stay at home watching it in the box having already paid for that service (even if it is Emil again)
  15. Who will Belle Vue get in for Mulford now that he’s out for a while with broken bottom of leg/ankle after grass track crash at weekend? That’s got to be a 6-10 weeks out even if heals quickly
  16. Unusual Monday night nine meeting for Sheffield (and no TV coverage). Can only see a home win and by some margin, the home team will be wanting to put the last home meeting loss to Leicester to bed. Holder and Musielak swap riding order with July averages in force, rest of the Sheffield line up as previous. Peterborough swapping Worrall and Cook around at 2 and 4, with rest as previous. I don’t think Sheffield will hit 60 but will be mid 50’s, I’ll go for 56-34
  17. If the Thompson’s were both taken out of the team and another 2.00 rider brought in (weakens reserves I know) what average would be left for a new rider in the top 5? Got to be around the 8 point mark? That could open up some doors surely to go for a really top heavy side to compensate for 2 x 2.00 at reserve
  18. Congratulations to Belle Vue. Whilst the Leicester track continues to be a slick borefest it should not have a major event there going forward, it really needs some sort of remedial work on there
  19. If Sedgy has his gating gloves on tonight then can see a Leicester win, with Belle Vue pushing them hard. The Sheffield duo will need to ride better than on their last visit there to I have any chance of pushing the above teams
  20. With the new July averages out now, what would Sheffield have to play with if they decided to jettison Ellis? As his average seem to be going south every month
  21. Woffinden is definitely on the downward slope, knows he’s been left behind at world level now and will need a ‘pick’ is he’s to continue in SGP (Monster Joe will be pleading his case to keep their sponsored riders in the competition), he’s simply using the UK as an easy option, if he came in on an 8 (ish) average I can see him maintaining that, he’d be well behind the likes of Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley, Kurtz, Holder, Musielak, Fricke to name a few in the averages. Gone are the days when he’ll add numbers to the gate
  22. Doyle riding for Krosno in rearranged league match in Poland, Hawkins has said not in Emil’s contract to ride in Pairs
  23. Problem is Sheffield can’t carry Adam long enough for his average to drop to be number 6, if the promotion aren’t looking now for a replacement it could be too late if left until end of July averages as there’s 6 matches in that period and play off place could be over by then
  24. Massive home win for Redcar, just south of the 60 points haul, 58-32, can see double figures for each of the Bears heat leaders, don’t think the reserve change for Plymouth will stop them being outscored massively down at 6 and 7. Worrall and Howarth go well there but will have work cut out to get near the opposition and depends how much damage was caused to Howarth’s bike last night after tyre exploded as looks like had to change bikes after that
  25. Think this will be Sheffield’s toughest test if the season at home to date, Leicester’s solid top 5 have all shown in the past they can get to the chequered flag first around Owlerton, Sedgeman has done plenty laps around there and fast in front, Harris is Harris and the 3rd to 1st swoop on bends 3/4 the other year live in the memory, Lawson usually good for points and was in the aborted 2020 line up, Morris is a regular guest around the place and agin fast in the lead, Fricke riding superbly well at the moment not really done many laps around Owlerton but that won’t stop him and Allen and Kemp have both ridden for Sheffield in the past and will be stern tests for their opposing numbers. The key areas in this one are the 3 and 4 and reserve combinations, Ellis needs to continue his recent home improvement and Pickering be on the pace straight away as they’ll have it touch against Lawson and Harris. Howarth and Gilkes will need to be on top form to outscore Allen and Kemp who’ve both reached the flag first plenty times be that in a Tigers race jacket or opposition one. The score prediction is a tough one, I’ll go for a home win but nowhere near by as much as recent home wins, 48-42
