Rye House Vs Glasgow Pl Saturday 13/08/2016
Chris replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Summed it up. Think the promotion have given up already. The riders certainly have & I have. Bottom of the league. Embarrassing. Shroek doesn't know what he's doing & is too nice. Go and read the bollocks on the Hertfordshire Mercury website he's come out with. "Proud of the boys", "Great to see Leigh coming back into form, if I demand something from him he'll give me it", "these results show we're a good side" etc.. Complete guff & shows no idea or ambition. Another awful season results wise & Kennett will be off. He was off last year due to crap results but told bmr he would give to it one more year. They certainly haven't kept their end of the bargain up what with crap side & giving up months ago on the season. What a shame this new promotion have come in and done absolutely nothing to improve the club after the tripe we had under Silver. -

Oh dear, your one of those wet behind the ears fans who think they do it for our entertainment. I'm a fan who likes to see a bit of ambition and success. I have supported Rye for many years home & away so won't be told by wally's like you to stay away. You are someone who will turn up no matter what & accept any old crap. That's your prerogative. You want to praise the side for a poor performance because they took it to a last heat decider. Your mate above had the temerity to blame Somerset for using too many EL riders & being to strong. Unbelievable. We have had three/four decent seasons in 15 years since we returned to the pl. with the facilities, location etc that is unacceptable. Silver gave up years ago & the new promotion aren't giving any confidence that they want or can build a decent side. If they had any ambition Lanham & Karger would have been shown the door months ago. Why should I support a rider like Leigh Lanham who is happy to poodle around the line & not give 100%? He showed his lack of commitment in heat 8 on Sunday where he was faster than BWD but kept knocking the throttle off when he got too close. He is in his late 30's and will not put himself in danger now so what's the point? Go and ask Edward himself, he struggles when it's slick. If you had any knowledge you would notice it yourself. I said I would give the new promotion this season to gauge things. The track & racing has been better up to Sunday but it's still a crap side which they have shown no intention of changing. Only Recar/Scunthorpe are on a par with this rye side. You enjoy watching these types of sides though as they must be supported at all times apparently. Why don't you ask the 700/800 that have disappeared the last 10 years why they stay away? -

Hard done by? So we're blaming Somerset for another crap performance because their team is too strong. Ffs. It would be nice if we had a decent side to follow & had promoters like Somerset that know how to build good sides. Rye have had awful sides for the last six/seven years now & it's continued this year as usual. The team is rubbish & will finish bottom two. The feel good factor disappeared yesterday. Track was crap, stadium still a bomb site, two & a half hours for a meeting & a dire performance with rubbish racing. I lost the will to live half way through. Somerset deserved the win. No one impressed for Rye. Lanham, what is the point? He's beat about two riders in the last three meetings. What is he bringing to the side? Heeps was comical, over riding & going backwards. Awful track craft. Lykke usual from the tapes & wasn't making any ground on that track. Branford all over the show & went backwards in every race. Not sure why schroeck left him in 14? Kennett crap when track is slick & Robbo using the wrong line in heat 13 losing a draw. Very depressing yesterday. An air of resignation about the place. Three stuffings on the northern tour coming up & Glasgow at home next. Oh dear. -

I assume Hancock will get a ban like the Russians last year when they didn't turn up? Would like to see that grinning nob hit in the pocket. -

Come on Steve, I usually respect your knowledge but she's embarrassed herself there. -
I hope after two stuffings on the northern tour that the promotions eyes have been opened a little bit about how poor this side is. I think with only home meetings being rode up till now would have clouded the judgement of the riders performances. Leigh Lanham needs to go asap as he's offering nothing as I predicted at the start of the season. He's a veteran just pottering around not wanting to get hurt these days. Poor performances from Heeps as well all weekend. Schroek talking crap saying its a positive they were beat by 18 as other sides have struggled as well. Sounds like Sampford. Poor mentality.

Certainly not the Robbo of old. Injuries have caught up with him. He would have been up by the fence like Lykke in the old days but is happy to poodle around the white line like Lanham these days. All well & good having experience in the side but they won't be busting a gut at this stage of their careers. -

Cracking meeting. Rye lucky to get a draw. Lykke only one to get pass marks for the home side. He was top class tonight. Team just isn't strong enough still. Robbo was diabolical tonight & Lanham not much better. Heeps terrible from the gate all night. Kennett off the pace when it mattered & made a right pigs ear of the first bend in heat 15. All well and good the atmosphere & racing showing a big improvement but it would be nice to have a winning side for the first time in many years. This side is lower reaches of the table if it's not changed. -
Not on Facebook. The Twitter feed has been very poor. Not sure who is supposed to be updating it but both Facebook & Twitter are a crucial tool to keep the fans informed. Both need to be regularly updated rather then just one.
-
Early days still. Better atmosphere around the place for sure & a few familiar faces have returned. Much better spirit & atmosphere between the riders & management. Racing has been very good so far & track alterations have worked. More dirt needs to be put down though as track has been too slick. Rain has been around for most meetings though so I'll let the new promotion have this issue for the moment. The place is a bomb site. No idea what there going to do with it, but any newbies who turn up will be shocked at the lack of facilities. The promotion need to spell out what's going to happen. The only thing you can see so far is the KTM dealership. Communication in the media & particularly social media hasn't been good so far in their reign. What's going to happen with the stadium? Team building was a shambles over the winter & the new promotion showed their naivety. Karger & Lanham were poor signings. I like the attitude of the new Glasgow promotion & use them as a yard stick for BMR. The Glasgow promotion are ruthless with riders & will only accept a winning side. Made the play off final in their first season. They sorted their stadium straight away & made drastic improvements. It will be interesting to see if BMR want to win things & be ruthless with riders not doing their jobs. I have my doubts so far but it's a wait & see. In summary, ok so far. Better atmosphere but lots lots more to do at the club.

Rockets V Edinburgh Sun 22nd May 6pm
Chris replied to waco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surprising win in the end. At the interval after heat 10 it looked an Edinburgh win all day, but the Rye reserves came to the party & made the difference. No idea what was going on with the line up in heat 15, but it left the crowd feeling flat. Poor gifting Edinburgh a point. Woman refs embarrassing themselves again. Scandoulous that heat one wasn't restarted. Kennett marginally over Masters, before they hooked up & Masters footrest took the chain off. Who assesss these idiots? Track way too dry again. I'll let the promotion off the last two meetings as rain was around but they need to get a lot more moisture in it. No more excuses now. The blue groove was huge. Surprising win by Karger, won't read too much into it. Now has to build on that. -
Ipswich Vs Rye House Thurs 12th May Koc 1st Leg
Chris replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surely that's it for Karger? Beaten by Ritchings & a rider who fell in the race. Comical. Lanham needs to go as well. Surprised Rye kept it so close but it looks like two poor sides were on show. -
That's the problem. Another year of rubbish results will just piss everyone off even more. The crowds will drift away and Ed will say goodbye. He has carried the team with rubbish around him & he thought about leaving this year as he was fed up of getting beat all the time. The new promotion at Glasgow got results straight away. If they needed to make changes they did. They didn't sit on their hands & knees & do nothing. They showed ambition & a winning mentality. I don't get the feeling that the new promotion at Rye are like that. They have made too many naive & strange decisions already & from the small snippets you read it seems their happy with results & performances which is worrying.

Rye House V Workington (premier League) 2nd May, 2pm
Chris replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Out of jail in heat 15. Poor performance again Kennett apart. Another meeting where it shows that the team is plainly not strong enough. Karger & Lanham a waste of time. Get rid of both & use the points elsewhere. Stick Branford at reserve & use the spare points to replace Lanham. Awful track conditions. Appreciate that rain was due around three but you shouldn't be starting meetings in dust no matter if rain is due. If it rains at Rye it will be off anyway due to the blue groove becoming like ice, so prepare the track properly. It will make no difference. I do still worry the promotion are a little green & wouldn't know how to change the side. When you put Karger & Lanham in it shows they don't have as much of a clue as it is. What if they quit? -
Rye House V Peterborough Pl Saturday 16th April
Chris replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was always on the cards as soon as a half decent side turned up. The side isn't strong enough. The new promotion are going on about it being a team effort, but you won't win many meetings with a five man side. The team building was a mess in the winter & this meeting showed it up as that. Can only hope that the new promotion don't let it drag on like Silver would have & make changes before its to late. It's a bottom three side if it's allowed to continue. Karger needs to be asked to quit & Lykke needs to be down at reserve. Unfair on Morley to be asked to be the senior reserve. His points as a draft rider should be a bonus. Not sure why Schroek left Karger in heat 14 either. Do the new promotion have much of a clue about riders out there or rules that would allow them to come in. They do seem a touch green in areas. The releasing of Busk Jacobsen being one. -
It's an awful side Sid, bottom of the table written all over it. Absolute shambles. The new promotion have shown they have no idea what their doing at the moment with the winter team building. Rye were going down the drain under Silver, but this promotion will be going the same way unless they learn quickly. What wally is actually making the decisions at Rye? The communication from them has been worse than under Silver ffs
-
Plan for the future? We've had f all to shout about for six years as terrible sides have been built & this one will be no better. Sod planning for the future, build a f'ing decent side. Where's the planning for the future in employing Robbo & a going through the motions Lanham? The team building has been an absolute shambles. The new promotion have shown their naivety and got it all wrong. What wally is making these decisions? First NBJ & then Klindt buggers off without a word said. Another year of nothing & hovering around the bottom. The new promotion haven't done a lot to improve the club. The only good thing they have done is got rid of Silver. I can't see what else they have done. They'll just lose money and crowds if they continue making wallyish decisions like they have this winter. Where are the promised stadium improvements? Can only hope this is early teething problems as doesn't bode well for the future if it carries on.
-
Can't see any benefit of Leigh Lanham being signed so a double change if for the better would improve the side. Not sure there's many heatleaders out there though.
-
I wouldn't go that far!
-
A rag bag of a side which has been put together without any real plan. A massive cock up with team building due to Lambert which has to be put down to naivety. The releasing of NBJ looks even more stupid now. Robbo has suffered too many injuries to be the rider we saw 10 years ago & Heeps hasn't developed as many thought he would. No back up for Kennett on the road at all. Afraid again it's a bottom of the table side that has been built at Rye for about the sixth year in a row now.
-
Wow! Can it get any worse? We've been fed rubbish by silver for the last few years and now we get this from the new promotion. From what they have done so far it is showing that they don't know what their doing. What an absolute shambles. They let an exciting young rider like NBJ go and sign turd like Klindt and Lanham. Lanham bored me to tears 10 years ago when he was a half decent rider. A complete gating tart and over the hill. He's a veteran rider now going through the motions. Klindt? Another gating tart and his average keeps on tumbling every year. What an exciting side to watch this will be. Not. Lambert? Comical. You would have thought they would have got him signed sealed and delivered after going to so much hassle to get him in for two meetings last year, but no. Unless Nick Morris/Ellis are signed its bottom of the table stuff. I feel sorry for Edward who will again have to carry a crap side. A more boring, turgid & uninspiring side would be very hard to find. Ahh how nice, just read the press release. So they want the team to be full of great guys who all get on. Sod that the team will be crap and full of boring riders. Personally as a fan I don't give a sh't if the riders get on or not. Seems like we have a promotion who had as much ambition to win things as Len did the last five years.
-
Plus he's a racer who is good to watch, so another reason why it's a strange decision.
