  1. Decent first half of the meeting before track dried out. Last bank holiday was much worse regarding dust. Pointless interval as not enough water was put down so had dried out again by heat 8/9. Jackobsen is a real find and will be pushing for top of the league averages next season. Very much reminds of Sundstrom. A season of settling and learning the tracks and then talent will show through. Lykke is a different rider as well nowadays. A real trump card at reserve. Still a feeling that this side is short of something to challenge at the top end of the league.
  2. Season over already then. Murdered at home by Sheffield, lost at an awful Redcar and dropping points at home to mighty Scunthorpe. Same old predictable crap season after season. Scott must surely see Silver has made that club rotten to the core by now. Some were sticking up for Aspergren when I questioned his performances recently, but his scores have been crap for weeks.
  3. Time to redeclare the side. Side not strong enough to compete if having to rely on crap guests like Edberg etc. Waiting would be criminal as give it a few weeks and the season will be over. Steads injury covered up a shocking home performance. 50+ by Sheffield at Rye? Aspergren has started to struggle and Mellgren is very inconsistent. Let's hope the new owners are a bit more proactive than Silver. Lykke/Bowen out & use the points. If Boxall needs to be sacrificed as well then so be it.
  4. That's what I love about Sampford, a pure winner! "This has hopefully been a boost to our confidence". Erm you lost 52-38 John with four race winners.
  5. Erm if he's done his cruciates or got severe ligament damage he won't be riding for anyone for a long time thicko. Why don't you read the post instead of making yourself look an arse?
  6. Would wait and see the prognosis on Kasper. Knee ligaments doesn't sound good. If he's not going to be fit then redeclare with both reserves out. Sign a 3 pointer like Greenwood and then well over five points to use with whoevers available. Sides not strong enough to piss around with guest reserves for the next few weeks and if stuck with NL riders then the near point more on bowens average needs to be used elsewhere.
  7. If that's the case & my money behind it then goodbye Mr Silver. His arrogant decisions cost the side. Noticed Mellgren made a comment on Twitter about how slick it was.
  8. That was when Silver was owner, he isn't now. If the new bloke sees the problems Silver causes then he'll have to go. By the sounds of it he's cost the home side the meeting yesterday & pissed the captain off. If Rye don't qualify from the group now then he's already costing the new bloke by not having the extra meetings.
  9. That's Silver for you. Needed to have gone 4/5 years ago. He's so stubborn these days he's ended up pissing everyone off. As I said recently, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's not there come the end of the season. If I had invested money in the club like the new owner the last person I would want running the club would be the silly old codger. Good to hear Kennett had a go at him & hopefully the new owners will see sense shortly.
  10. And Plymouth... Terribly weak from Silver and could easily cost the side points in the long run. There is no chance Jon Cook would have done the same in return ano your mad to believe otherwise. It's another example of why Silver needs to go as he's lost touch and shows he has no winning mentality at all. This cosy agreement just shows he has bent over backwards for Lakeside and the rider. He's our asset now for christ sake, we call the shots. Edward can ride any track on his day if in the mood, so horses for courses guests is a load of crap. His average not being what it should also means the leagues top boys aren't an option. Very poor and weak management.
  11. Decent deal. Garrity plainly didn't want to be there. Edward is what he is now, a part time rider who rides for fun now. He's missed his chance of doing something on the world stage so isn't going to bust a gut these days but will do a job at number one.
  12. Can only be a good thing. The last few years have been completely unacceptable. Wouldn't surprise me if Silver is moved on sometime this season along with Sampford. I wouldn't be putting money up and then have them two running it for me.
  13. Can see this side getting beat at home a good few times. Certainly shoudnt fill anyone with any confidence. If Jakobsen can't live up to at the least his average then its a bottom of the table side again. The old boy really has no idea building sides. Looking at other sides now being assembled, it shows how poor it is.
  14. Another poor side put together. Kennett has no support whatsoever at the top end & even he fell away in most heats 13 & 15 towards the end of the season. Garrity isn't ready to be an 8 or 9 man yet as he's not consistent enough. Think some are getting carried away by his FTR scores. Not signing greenwood again shows Silver hasn't got a clue. Good ability & not afraid to get stuck in & put himself about. Now discarded for some unknown reason. Boxall & Bowen. Tedious. Will never get any better & have gone backwards. Jakobsen could easily be another Lykke & that would Mean this side being unbelievably weak. Nelson, who knows? Kid doesn't seem the most professional. It's another bottom half/lower end side again & if the new Dane is dud then it's wooden spoon again. Very depressing but expect nothing less from silver. Hasn't put a decent side together in years.
  15. Wouldn't touch Mellgren on his high average after his nasty back injury last season. Needs to prove his fitness over a fair period first. Kennett Garrity Nelson Greenwood No brainers really. Desperate for some back up for kennett though, so a big hitter needed badly otherwise team will do nothing again. Fully expect Bowen and Boxall to be used though which means towards the bottom of the table for another year. Joy.
  16. Absolute rubbish. The reason why Rye were murdering everyone for years at home was because we had top sides. Riders like Robbo, Ed Kennett, Danny King, Tai Woffiinden, Linus Sundstrom etc. same as the Somerset team of the last few years. They have built very good sides. They were crap at home in the early years when they had poor sides. Len has built crap sides and it has proved there's not a massive home advantage as many many teams have come to rye and won. Edinburgh have built good sides in the last few years hence they are untouchable at home. There's been many years before that when they have not had a good sides and have had home defeats throughout a season. Build decent sides and the dominant home form will follow as you have better riders. Nothing to do with home track advantage. Somerset is a brilliant racetrack and I wish it was on my doorstep. Proper speedway.
  17. Brilliant stuff. Great race track gave the riders all the tools to work with. A track where you have to show some big old bollocks. Why someone like a Davidsson was tailed off. Kildemand will challenge for the world title within a couple of years IMO.
  18. His bikes looked slow last night and certainly was slow out the gate. Plus the track was very slick and he's always struggled on slick tracks. Words fail how embarrassing that was for the home side. Consistently out gated and out ridden. Silver should be embarrassed like all the fans were, but will he be? I'd doubt it. He's given up. Fair play to the sweaties, at least their promotion have a go each season and put decent sides together and show a bit of ambition.
  19. Pretty poor meeting due to Peterborough being so rank. Hall comical and laughable. Good to see Adam Roynon score well. Definite for me if Rye run next year. Best I've seen Garrity ride but opposition not up to much.
  20. It's pretty obvious it's being run down so wouldn't be a surprise if this is true. If not I just hope the old fool will realise no one wants him at the club anymore and sell it onto someone else. What a shame from where the club was 7/8 years ago. It's a disgrace the way he has run the club and it's all come home to roost. I see all the old twats that used to come on here and tell me to stop criticising Silver as there's no one better are conspicuous by their absence.
  21. That's as bad a response you can get rom Philip Rising here. Not sure if Malky Mackays texts or Phillip Risings response here is worse? To say you should have gone with TP tours is absurd & a huge insult to the people who got screwed over. If that's BSI response then it's a disgrace. The event beforehand looked as though it was going to be a shambles & the lack of professionalism by BSI making sure everything was running ok is there for all to see. I certainly wouldn't travel to any overseas GP' s if that is the attitude of BSI. Not worth the risk. I hope BSI lost a hell of a lot of money last weekend.
  22. Can't see what the fuss is about with Garrity. Awful, horrible crunched over style on the bike and very much a white line rider.
  23. Anyone who's not wet behind the ears knows what the Aussies are like. I've been at a GP in Poland before where I've witnessed Jason Doyle get thrown out of a bar for eating plants after going around 4/5 tables, putting all the left overs in a glass & knocking it back. A couple of other Aussie riders as well were out of their faces. Doyle was riding next day. It's not uncommon. Ward obviously had a big old session the night before and got caught out. Tough luck, accept your punishment. The lad seems a bit of a prat so won't learn whatever punishment he gets, but the few defending him on here is laughable. You only have to listen to his excuses to see he doesn't give a sh*t. Wasn't hydrated enough? Hahaha
  24. Yep. Sad, but no other option if silver won't sell up. Would rather the club be put out of its misery than carry on like this. If only a Matt Ford/ John Chapman type could come forward and buy it off Silver.
  25. Floodlights could defo do with an upgrade, track looked very dark for the riders. As I predicted, postman pat & silver to blame for heat 15. Completely unprofessional, but not at all surprising from them two.
