Poole vs Rye House Weds 16/05/18
Chris replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Heavy Poole win, Rye dreadful on the road. -
Rye very fortunate. Nielsen EF while leading in heat 14 and looked like the pole beat NBJ on the run to the line in heat 12, but wasn't given it. Desperate move by Josh G in heat 14, very poor piece of riding and hopefully hasn't caused serious injury to NBJ. No excuse for ploughing through a rider even if your form is dire and your desperate for points. Rye are not going to go anywhere with this team. What are the promotion waiting for? A home defeat? That will come no doubt. Clegg carrying on is pointless for everyone. Miles off the pace and won't get involved in the first corner. No confidence. 3 changes are needed. If NBJ is out now then his points, Summers and Cleggs need to be used to make the side stronger. Having Harris at number 1 says it all.
-
Possible options for changes: Kim Nilsson Danny Gappmaier Matej Zagar(seems he's only doing Polish league at the moment) Gregorz Zengota Krystof Buczkowski

Decent meeting. Delays unavoidable really so no criticism. Not like the old bank holiday meetings under Silver that limped on for 5 hours. Constant watering kept a bit of moisture in the track for the riders. Rye are really just hanging on at the moment and hoping to scrape wins at home. The team is nowhere near strong enough and it must be obvious that changes are needed. Summers, Clegg and Robbo need to be moved out and the points used to restructure the side. Clegg is completely out of his depth, Summers is on way too high an average and will never hit it and you can't wait for Robson as team not strong enough. The 14/15 odd points these riders are taking up need to be used as soon as possible. Nicholls excellent yesterday and kept Rye in it.

Not sure it's particularly bright to have a pop at the fans after scoring 0 from 4 as a number 1. Best thing would be to shut up and sort yourself out. He's on a downward spiral now and isn't the rider he was 10 or even 5 years ago. He's struggling in the league below, so that says it all. The fact he is number one at Rye is probably unfair on him as he's nowhere near that level anymore and the Rye promotion need to recognise that very quickly.
-
What a mess and sadly all too predictable. The side when announced was crap and they have proven it on track. Needs to be taken apart and start again with riders now out injured. Only one who should be kept on is KK. The rest are offering nothing.

Belle vue -V- Rye House 23.04.18
Chris replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree with majority of the post. The old PL league was getting very stale at Rye. There wasn't much motivation to watch poor sides like Scunthorpe, Berwick, Plymouth and Redcar turn up year after year. Also Silver built dreadful sides for many years, so I had no problem with him going. His time was well up. Crowds were down to a few hundred in his final seasons. The problem is Jenson, who is running the show for BMR, has no idea about the sport. Has come in as a complete outsider and looks like he doesn't know what he's doing and has no knowledge of riders etc. Having someone like Schroeck alongside who was away from the sport for years doesn't help. The size of the crowds last year proved the decision to move up was correct, but they will ruin it all this year with such a crap side put out. Lose at home to Wolves on Wednesday and that should be it for some of these riders and will show how badly they got the team building wrong. -

There's a time and a place & bouncing out on track all smiles, pats on back, handshakes and congratulations with the BV side after being stuffed by nearly 30 points again is not acceptable. If you see the young man in the car park on the way out by all means give a nod, but don't be running out on the track straight after the final heat. Would Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho or any self respecting manager do that? No. You wouldn't be seeing Peter Adams behaving like that. It just comes across as having no pride in his sides performance & Rye as a club not to be taken seriously. -

Rye look a mess of a side. Harris and Nicholls as the top two is putrid. Both are not even impressing in the championship. Speedway GB put a tweet up of Bewley bumps after his maximum & Schroeck the first man out on track after the BV riders with handshakes, smiles and pats on the back with Jenson not far behind. Awful to view. Have some f'in pride in your clubs performances. With these two in charge it doesn't bode well. Dumb and dumber spring to mind. -
Wolverhampton v Rye House 16/4/18

Pathetic, but no surprise. It's a poor side which will get nothing away from home all season. Should be a laugh seeing what crap Schroeck comes out with. No tac sub used? -
Rye House V Leicester Lions 11/04/2018
Chris replied to JamesM09's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Pretty poor stuff due to weather & track conditions. Track wet & damp meant racing was strung out and from the gate. What with a mist/fog developing as well it made it impossible for the riders to have any sort of vision. Credit for trying to get the meeting on but the sensible thing would have been to knock it on the head earlier in the day. No one would have enjoyed watching in those conditions & the riders certainly didn't enjoy it. Crowd well down as well from last seasons. Bizarre track grade after heat 4, completely pointless. Schroeck clueless as usual, Robbo should have been put in heat 8 as meeting always likely to be curtailed. No team suits this year? Looked very poor -
You have just been quoted above as saying Hancock preferred to over pay Doyle than purchase team kevlars. Embarrassing for the club.
-
Embarrassing from Poole and Somerset. Should be made mandatory that all top flight sides must have team kevlars. Excuse of saving a few quid is pathetic. Show a bit of professionalism ffs. Makes the sport look pikeyish. The self proclaimed "Manchester United" of speedway looking like a rag tag bunch thrown together is a terrible look for the sport & that club. Looks like they've gone back to 1988. Somerset over paying Doyle as their excuse for no suits is dreadful. Team kevlars was one of the few professional things about the sport & now we have Ford being a t0sser & Somerset taking us back to the 80's.

Looking more closely at the video the stadium looks a real mess. They have bought in a shipping container in place of the scaffolding on the home straight and there is a new (refs?) box on the floor nowhere near in line with the tapes. Anyone in the small stand in front of the pits/bend 1 won't be seeing a thing of bend 3 & 4 with the humps. Anyone who used to stand at ground level won't see a thing. There was a problem with there not being enough viewing positions last season & will now be even worse as everyone needs to be up high to get any sort of view. What an absolute shambles & embarrassment.
-
What the &*+# is this monstrosity? Must be a wind up with April 1st near? Who the hell puts a motocross track in the middle of a speedway track? Must be illegal. The view was diabolical last season with scaffold stands etc and they come up with this now. Joke of a club.
-
He talks a good game but there isn't much substance. Stadium still a mess after nearly 3 years & promised improvements haven't been spoken about in a long time. Social media side is embarrassing. Think his wife does occasional Twitter updates but only posting links to the official site. The team signed this year lacks any sort of ambition. He's kept banging on about signing GP riders then signs dads army again. That didn't work last season. He's general knowledge of riders, particularly foreign riders, is virtually nil. Would doubt he's ever heard the name Woryna. Seems like he has good intentions but it's all a bit too much for him. He has no speedway bank ground at all as he's admitted. He's still learning and is a bit naive. Seems Ford is trying to take the piss already over KK. He'll probably be realising what he's got himself into now dealing with the likes of Ford and the BSPA in the top league.

Fords being a nob
-
You were chatting crap as usual about Thorsell Bum, so you were pulled up on it. Of course, as is normal for you, you then had to have the last word. Get some sleep Steve....
-
^This wally trying to patronise, but just making itself look silly. Bless. So what the same guy does the track. Completely irrelevant. One is billiard table smooth, the other a motocross track. For a so called glamour club, the track at Poole is an absolute embarrassment. It's like Man City having to play on a Hackney Marshes pitch at the Etihad. Ford can't be bothered to invest in it. Clear to see. Must be a massive reason that crowds have dropped alarmingly over the years at Poole.
-
Holders a t0sser, wouldn't want him. KK enjoyed riding a properly prepared track, riding with good blokes & under a management that like to build a good spirit. Couldn't fault his attitude at all at the end of last season & should be a no brainer to claim the last spot on his average.
-
Very uninspiring. Not sure why Jenson hasn't learnt the lessons from last season. The side with a fading Harris at number one will never ever win enough heats away from home to be competitive. KK will have to return to former glories if this side is to do anything. Its a 5th/6th place side again. Very strong at home but crap away. It only takes a couple of lacklustre home performances or a wet track & the season is done. Reminds me of the Lakeside EL sides who were strong at home but dire away & done nothing once the play offs came around. Jenson constantly speaks of attracting and using GP riders, so why has he not tried to get Doyle, Lindgren or Iversen in? Would've thought Rye pay better than Somerset & have much bigger crowds. Where's the ambition? Use Barker or Robsons points on a genuine number one. Whats happening with the stadium improvements as well? Gone very quiet.
-
Would never want Twatchelor in a side I followed. Heart the size of a pea.
-
Harris & KK no brainers. Edward on a 6.5 average & as an asset should also be a no brainer. Wouldn't be averse to Nicholls but only if his average fits. He's very poor these days on the bigger circuits. Always liked Thomas Jorgensen around Rye. Linus Sundstrom would be welcomed back with open arms. Wouldn't use Robbo, Barker or Wells as can't see any average improvement.
-
Calm down Sidney, you'll cause yourself a mischief at your age. Your retired & live in a camper van. I'm not retired or live in a camper van so can't travel round the country when I want. The fact is the objective of the season has not been met. Many on here had Rye down as one of the favourites pre season & we were nowhere near the top. I'm not going to start lavishing praise after a 5th place finish & out of the KO cup in round one. I'm incredulous to see that many want the same team back next year. Absurd. They weren't good enough this year & with the veterans in the side a year older then where's the improvement? Would only have Harris & KK back next year.

Rye House V Swindon 1st September
Chris replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Said in the programme tonight that the promoters want to put on one more meeting to finish the season after the Leicester match.
