  1. Yes but they will be solid though. It will be like going to see Oasis with Noel as the lead. Whereas if you want excitement and entertainment you want Liam there. So to speak … 😂
  2. They’d be better off with Martin Kemp or his older brother Gary. They would provide the half time entertainment aswell.
  3. I’d have a face like a smacked arse if I’d left the hot Australian summer to scrape around for a living over here to be fair . Kurtz smiles a fair bit but that’s because he’s the one smacking the arses more often than not.
  4. I’d go for the Wurzels . I am a coider drinker .. I drinks it all of the day 🎵
  5. No need to get personal with someone for having a different opinion but here goes. If second halves were re introduced , do you reckon that would provide 1 or 2 extra riders to add to the usual 7 , making a squad, so any absences would be covered by your own riders, not some fuc.er else’s ? These 1 or 2 riders would push for places so anyone not producing in the 7 would always have their place under threat. You know like in football? Probably nonsense though, as all this would get in the way of the half time band, comedian, juggler etc that you’re pushing for.
  6. Total nonsense in your opinion. All I know is the sport is dying a death and unless a new generation of fans come along to see a relevant meaningful product professionally ran with an identity attached to keep those new fans interested, it’s all over sooner than later. It’s a speedway meeting. What entertainment other than the racing do you suggest during a break . Yes people want the good days back but the sport was run properly in those days. Second halves etc.
  7. Great post . Your views make total sense. We all know the speedway fan base is a rapidly ageing one and to attract younger ones to the sport , they would need to feel an attachment to the team that they are watching. That they identify with the riders in their team , the same riders week in week out and choose their favourites. In return those riders will feel the attachment to the club also, rather than riding for two or three teams ( if a guest) . Things need to be professional in that sense and not the free for all that has ruined our sport.
  8. As a professional team sport it’s all wrong signing for two teams while also guesting for other ones. Just dosent look right in my opinion. Imagine Phil foden playing for Man City on a weekend, then playing for Stockport on a Wednesday. Different sport I know, but professional so on the same lines .
  9. I remember the back of the star always had a team on it with the captain labelled as ‘ on machine’ . That was your team with your riders. You were attached to them. Nowadays it’s a free for all . A pay day for the rider. That rider could be doing his own team damage by winning with his guested team. Just dosent add up in a professional sport.
  10. Those were the days. The riders in your team were yours to cheer on only. Like any sensible sport. Bomber would have been knackered back then. If someone was injured a squad member or junior stepped in more often than not. Or rider replacement. Guesting wasn’t the free for all like it is these days . They certainly didn’t ride for 2 different teams.
  11. I remember going as a kid with my dad in the 70’s , it was that smell that made me want to go again and again. That and getting splattered in shale on the bends . And an hot dog 🌭. The racing was a bonus.
  12. Milking it for all it’s worth is old bomber . Shale , grass , long track , snails in France . If there’s a race on and dough to be made he’s there unloading the van ..
  13. Can’t see Ipswich repeating last season’s win as in losing Doyle and Emil , they’ve lost that fear factor in a 1 and 2 . It’s not possible to improve on those 2 , so they’ll be relying heavily on their second strings and reserves to step up regularly. And as Thompson has also left , that makes that even harder. But we’ll see . The excitement is building …
