  1. Unfortunately I don't think Belle Vue will come back from the first leg regardless of Thorsells injury, which I believe means Swindon will win by a country mile in the final, regardless of who they are against.
  2. Absolutely gutted I couldn't go to Owlerton tonight, due to circumstances.. It has been too long since my last visit. Despite everything the Tigers seem to have put themselves in title winning position. If Sheffield win, who does Bates ride for in the Leicester relegation/promotion play off? I could repeat the same question if Ipswich win, who does King ride for?
  3. This is Leicester v either Sheffield or Ipswich? Busy night for Danny King as Sheffield have been crippled by injuries. What a joke.
  4. Why would any team sign either Holder? Signing both or either Kurtz is bad enough. Go on Poole make my day & sign all four.
  5. Why are you being so negative? Thorsells injury was unfortunate. Lindgren can take an R/R, which means if he is on his game he can score 18, he is a class above every Belle Vue rider, this year. If Schlein, Riss & Masters can add a few second places Wednesday, 13 points is a defend-able advantage to take to NSS. Howarth & Greaves need to nick a few thirds also.
  6. I just caught up with this on the TV box. What an awful meeting it was. Poole were dreadful. The track was awful. The referee was awful. Heat 8 was it's only redeeming feature.
  7. How messed up is Swedish Speedway. If Smederna win the league & Piraterna are relegated The bookies, if betting on speedway is allowed in Sweden will be aghast. I still don't get how the playoffs are decided. Unless the league table on the SGP site is wrong. Have Dackarna & Lejonen broken rules?
  8. Neither am I, but he deserved to be World Champion last year. I am not certain he will this year, I think one of Woffinden (who looked out of it a few rounds ago) & Janowski will pip him too it. I don't see Dudek winning the series overall, but he has been very consistent.
  9. This was the first time I have ever seen a meeting from Rye House, the odd YouTube clip in the past didn't fill me with much excitement at the prospect. But I didn't think it was a bad meeting at all, I'd rather watch that racing than what is usually served up on TV's visits to Swindon & Leicester and in the past Lakeside & Eastbourne.
  10. I'm sure getting Holder & Batchelor on 14.99 for next year having made a mockery of Kings Lynn Speedway will soften your KK loss.
  11. Would THJ commit for a full season? Will other clubs offering bigger pay packets come calling? Do you really want to rely on him, he's a bit on a nomad. No Dane with a spot in the Ekstraliga is going to ride in Britain. Your 3 current Danes are difficult to judge, they blow very, very hot & cold. The first rider you should try to sign next year is Lebedevs. He hasn't got a GP spot by right, so will be relying on a Wildcard unless he wins the SEC, if that gets him a spot. All very political. If riders from smaller Speedway nations, Zagar & Vaculik qualify, I don't rate his chances. I would suggest Lambert stays, but for his own progression he maybe better served having a year away. Depends if he can get a regular spot in Swedish Elitserien and a spot in the Polish Nice League. Which would be better for him than spending another year in the Championship. Surely P'boro, would be an easier commute, than Newcastle. And it is a new track to get used to.
  12. Hope the racing was good, else it would have been a fairly depressing night to be a Stars fan.
  13. Shovlar has been a long time Poole forum marketing machine. I have been to Wimbourne Rd twice, while holidaying in the area. P'boro's visit in 2012 was reasonable racing wise, Lakeside's visit in 2016 was pathetic. They have had their stinkers at that track on Sky & had a few epics. Until this year, when turns 1&2 have appeared to be little more than a bouncy castle, who can stay on the bike. I love the racing at Sheffield. Never been to any track further North. Ipswich meetings I have never bothered watching when televised, track is horrible, or at least was last time I watched a televised meeting from it. Smallmead was also dishwater drivel when televised, I went once as on a training course from work in Bracknell. The most interesting thing as where was that horrible stench coming from. Never been a fan of EoESg racing, having visited a few times and watched televised meetings. The rider that can get his front wheel but not his back wheel over the white line on entering the first corner then wipe out any other rider speed off as he barely turn the bike until mid corner and near the fence gets 3 points.
  14. You can say many things about Billy Janniro but he was the last rider who regularly graced these shores who could properly team ride. I thought Scott Nicholls did a good job when the opportunity presented itself when he was last involved in a televised Speedway meeting. The irony that Billy Janniro, Sam Ermolenko & Bobby Schwartz are without doubt the best 3 team riders I have ever seen when they come from California where there is almost no team Speedway is not lost on me. Not sure I have ever seen Adams have the opportunity to team ride properly on a regular basis. Allot depends on the two riders on track chemistry, at Dudley Wood Alan Grahame alongside Phil Collins, Simon Cross or Jan O Pedersen was fantastic. When paired with Gert Handberg it just did not work. I have watched little Speedway other than that on TV in recent years, the last time I saw a pair operating in total unison was Gary Havelock & Tony Rickardsson for Arena Essex. That wasn't a bad meeting from Blunsdon, having just finished watching it, better than most televised meetings at the Abbey. Shame Kings Lynn don't have a "big gun" who may have got them a point, they're team that is basically based on the hope they will not finish last, to win. 7 riders averaging 8-5. It is a shame they have been forced into this position due to Holder & Batchelor's lack of man sacks.
  15. If Poole make the play offs with that team they will get hammered. The Swindon team has been on a massive roll, but I don't see it lasting. Wolves & Belle Vue have had their blip, and should be over it now.
  16. Hope Milik qualifies. No Lebedevs Is Piotr Pawlicki riding, thought he had broken his leg.
  17. Watch the SEC. All the Danes involved are terrible. Iversen has been my favourite GP rider for a few years simply down to his plucky never say die attitude & style, he has been Danish Champion for the last 7 years straight. He has won GP's. The SGP needs a Dane. He is the only sensible choice. They needed a Swede a few years ago & chose THJ, how did that work out? Last every event pretty much. Madsen, MJJ just no, had their chance & didn't deliver. I do have a horrible feeling that in ten years the SGP will be 10 Poles & 5 also rans from the most profitable nations.
  18. I would like to see Doyle win the WC, he should have won it last year but for the injury. Unfortunately I think Janowski will, I have no problem with Janowski being WC because at least he spent time learning his craft in British leagues with various teams. But he has more time on his side than Doyle does. As soon as Zmarzlik or Dudek become WC and I have no doubt one of them will the incentive for any rider to turn up for league racing in the UK is gone.
  19. So who do you think are favourites? Assuming both Swindon & Belle Vue finish above Wolves, whichever of those teams will choose whichever team finishes fourth. Surely? If Wolves are at full strength I would take them over two legs over whichever team they come up against with the possible exception of Rye House. But I don't see Rye House making the playoffs.
  20. Madsen in the SEC has been awful. Iversen easily, he scores 6-8 every GP. He won Cardiff two years ago, I'm sure he won a GP last year. The stupid Polish federation rule cutting down his schedule hasn't helped him. He seems like a rider that needs to ride as often as possible to stay on form. 7 consecutive years of being Danish Champion.
  21. Lebedevs & Milik should get wildcards if they don't qualify through the qualifiers, they're the most entertaining riders in the SEC. Plus a Dane, Iversen isn't having a good year but still mixes it.
  22. After the weekends result, it looks like Janowski all the way for World Champion. I just can't see him throwing in a stinker. Except for Dudek & Doyle, the other riders are too far behind. The Swedes & Woffinden are the ones in form but they are too far back. No Danish rider in next years GP series?
  23. All a bit odd, I am currently off work recuperating from a ruptured sciatic nerve and live less than 3 miles from Monmore. No rain until after the BT Sport Meeting had concluded & I had watched Game of Thrones! And then only light downpour for less than 20 mins.
  24. Rebels got away with a point they shouldn't gave got. Fair play to the Lions select team for adapting to the track after a poor start. Lynch should surely have used the tactical on Starke when he was off gate 1 in heat 7, even a 5-3 is better than a 3-3 as Bewley hadn't looked great all evening. Even so the Rebels were saved by the rain believe Leicester would have had the choice of gate positions in heat 15 by which time Nicholls & King were flying. Two terrific rides. The best was Nicholls in heat 11, to stay behind the slower Riss when there was only one real racing line while keeping Lawson at bay. Wright in the following heat was almost as terrific. Newman in heat 14 also note worthy. Unfortunately it didn't help either teams cause in the long term, dropped points for the Rebels who due to the recent poor form of Poole, the team changes Kings Lynn have virtually been forced into & Rye Houses lack of form all season had a sniff of a play off spot. The 2 points will do little help Leicester avoid the wooden spoon.
