Sheffield v Wolves 06.19.22 PO semi second leg
Col replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can't see Aces getting 40 at Owlerton! Three visits, three drubbings. Lambert is not super human, if he gets 11 from 5 that will all anyone can expect at a track he hasn't visited for years. Expect nothing from Etheridge and Brennan, if Brennan pops out the start in heat 8 he might win it but Kerr was riding determined tonight. If Blodorn gets to grip with the track he could be a surprise, no evidence of that on previous visits but he did figure out Foxhall on his most recent visit. If Zagar and Kurtz manage double figures that would be more than I'd expect. Wright should be the the trump card, as he's probably done more laps of Owlerton than all the home riders except Howarth, but I can't see it. -

Wow... that was embarrassing for Wolverhampton! Having witnessed that I hope stop doing Sheffield a disservice saying Belle Vue have already brought the title signing Lambert. Wolves have been better at Owlerton on their three visits than the Aces and got trounced tonight. -
Suspect there will be an agreed limit per team on Ekstraliga riders with a Prem average of above a certain level... And it would be sensible to not sign to riders who ride for the same Ekstraliga team. Surely British Speedway has not agreed to play second fiddle to lower Polish leagues?
-
The riders you mention, very unlikely... but the level below them - Wozniak, Pawlicki possibly Thomsen & Michelsen alongside Lambert, Bewley, Fricke, Holder & Doyle make the league more interesting. The gap between Prem & Champ would be defined. Not sure Lindgren & Vaculik are as unreachable for Prem clubs as you'd think.

Climate change is coming. Global warming is part of that. Climate change is less predictable intense weather. More serious storms are part of that.

Whoever has the Elitserien TV contract probably won't agree.

Wolves v Sheffield PO Semi Final 3rd October 2022
Col replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You could argue that Musielak has progressed in the time between his last season with Swindon and his first season with Sheffield, but he started on the same average. But using averages for team building the way British Speedway does a rider has to get an average from somewhere. Should Ipswich have got a reduction on Doyle's average as he is no longer World Champion or Belle Vue a reduction on Zagar's average as he is no longer a GP rider? Even if Lambert had been reassessed on an 8:00 average as a new GP rider coming into the league would it would still be lower than the average Fricke as attained this season. -
I'm sure Sheffield & Ipswich are delighted.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Col replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Depends on the limitations imposed on Polish League riders, I'm sure he'd be on an absolute bargain average. It seems unlikely that he'll now surpass fellow Poles his age so a GP spot would have to be through the qualifiers or SEC. He rode 10 matches in Elitserien last year. Would think Howarth would stay at Sheffield if he had the choice. -
Has there actually been any indication that whatever Polish authority blocks riders in their league from riding for a certain number of other teams will be lifted?

Gracious in defeat as always Explain the difference between Lambert replacing Fricke in 2022 to Woffinden replacing Kylamkorpi in 2016 please. -

Just trying to compare scores at a track. Fricke & Klindt scored more than Lambert when all three riders rode the NSS this year. -

Paweł Przedpełski does and it didn't do him much good. Unless you are Paweł Przedpełski! Not that I think he deserves a permanent wildcard, but suspect he has scored more points this year than Kim Nilsson will next year. -

When was the last time Lambert visited Owlerton (or less likely Monmore). I would suspect he's never visited Owlerton in the top tier of British Speedway, prior to last night Lambert was last at the NSS in March for the Peter Craven memorial and only scored 7! Fricke and Klindt (who was booked as guest) scored more that night, so going on the form shown that night the Aces were weaker last night with Lambert in the team. According to Speedway Stats Lambert last visited Owlerton in 2017 and averaged 6.40 from 2 meetings. -

They've been around for years, I think I remember the sombrero wearing Ace's fans at Monmore in 2004. -

From the clips I saw, Monmore looked a monumental mess. -

Why? Belle Vue except for the Playoff semi at Foxhall have been lackluster away from home. The big NSS wins only came once Zagar was @#1 - which won't happen now. It looked in a fairly appalling state tonight. With 15 of them at Owlerton? -

Woryna v Holder was the highlight.

A year out the GP's might give Woffinden a wake up but who knows, certainly won't happen he's too much of a "draw". Shame Janowski finished top 6, he is well on his way to taking the title of best rider to never win a world title from Leigh Adams It's a shame he's more interested in increasing his teenage girl social media following than being a world title contender. After a year out Sayfutdinov & Laguta may not be the riders they were. I'd heard a rumour Sayfutdinov was thinking about retiring.

My first visit to Torun - what a fine theatre of speed & methanol it is! Only downside was Lambert. After 8 heats he & Vaculik looked the two most likely contenders. Then for no apparent reason in a heat which has 3 riders in it who have showed no form or speed in their first two rides he touches the tapes. A third in that heat would have got him into the semi. After that Lambert was under pressure: chasing other riders & necessary setup.

Anyone who thinks Keynan Rew is worth signing on anything other over 4.00 is crazy.
