  1. Ok meeting I suppose, decent close racing early on but became processional. Of the three Gladiators exclusions the only one I'm convinced was the correct decision was the second, Pearson got to the first turn ahead & clamped Morley. Morley took a nasty tumble locking up hard. The other two I didn't have a great view of... instinct would suggest Andersen deserved to go, Bowtell didn't. Thanks to Josh Pickering for making the meeting a contest. Why you wanted to go off gate 2 in heat 15 I do not know! Question is did he pass Nicholls in heat 13 before Nicholls bike packed up? The only Brummie that can be satisfied with that performance is Neilsen. Ok bet he feels rough! two falls & a push for a point Shanes & Morris were down on their modus operandi of 2021, Sedgeman was poor - gated once, had 4 laps to pass a visiting reserve but never looked likely to do so. Wells was anonymous. Pearson gave a point away in heat 2 but can't expect much more. Barker clearly knows the quickest way around PB still. Andersen scored more than he probably deserved. Nicholls was good value, expect more from MPT. Bowtell & Morley did enough, Coles wasn't too far off the pace but never looked like scoring. I won't be coming again.until I don't have to drive to Wednesbury to get on.the M6!
  2. It is sunny now. The traffic lights above the fence on turn 2 are quite distracting.
  3. It's been warm today but cloudy, hardly seen any sun. 15 miles North admittedly. Can't imagine weather will have caused any issues.
  4. Nicholls wasn't so good Ashley Morris didn't beat him crucially in beat 14 when Kent visited last year.
  5. Lejonen v Vastervik it seems for the title. From where has Hubert Łęgowik emerged? Where is Hellstrom-Bangs?
  6. Drabik has forgotten how to ride Wroclaw, that surprised me. Wroclaw will be putting Bewley @#8 for what remains of the season. Lublin v Gorzow will be playoff final.
  7. How do changes to GSA'a impact line ups? Zagar or Kurtz likely to overhaul Fricke for Aces #1? Kerr to reserve, Worrall into 2-4 for Stars? Basso into 2-4, Nicholls/Andersen/Osterggard ro reserve? Harris to #1, MPT to 2-4? Surely no changes for Witches, Tigers or Wolves. Or has Barker sneaked above Starke or Riss?
  8. The bikes were slower, if a heat is two seconds slower that is two more seconds that gives a passing opportunity Heat 1 was OK, Fricke chasing the Wolves duo, heat 2 was better with Brennan battling the Wolves duo. Heat 4 saw Brennan pass Morris on the run in to the line. Fricke passing Morris in heat 6 was a great move. Next time you visit you could ask Zagar to be slower out the tapes if you want?
  9. Isn't it odd that MPT is a second string for Plymouth in the championship but #1 for Peterborough in the Premiership. Do the Premiership tracks suit him more? Does Pickering average less than Wells?
  10. I assume Nicholls guests for Kennett, who is listed as Plymouth #1 on British Speedway GSAs. I though Kennett retired when Eastbourne sadly closed last season?
  11. All being well should be making my first trip to Perry Barr tomorrow. Ricky Wells & Josh Pickering guest for the home team one for Auty (injured?) and one for Vissing (Danish clash?). Scott Nichoils guests for the visitors (in place of?)
  12. Football only have penalty shoot outs in finals. Rugby codes are happy with draws. Ice Hockey have a way to do it that works. Nothing wrong with a 45-45 in speedway. In 1989 Cradley drew with Belle Vue as a teenage Joe Screen ran rampant at Dudley Wood, never been so happy with a draw! Winning a last heat decider which is no more than this was essentially is always a buzz. Agreed. It isn't.
  13. Really? They weren't that good. The customary 1-5 was coughed up in heat 1, although at least Fricke looked interested in passing a Wolf & tried as few different lines. Wright had a night to forget, Etheridge & Brennan leaked a few points. Would have put Fricke rather than Kurtz in eat 15 myself. I have never listened to speedway on the radio, must be hard to commentate on, just watching I missed why Wright fell and I missed couple of "photo finishes" for a point in heats 10 & 12. Tennis & Football on the radio I can follow, Rugby Union & Ice Hockey are impossible to explain on a radio broadcast.
  14. Best meeting I've watched for some time, some great races when four riders enter the back straight in lap one and "You could chuck an army blanket over them" and impossible to predict who will emerge in front entering turn 3. Of course Matej Zagar missed it, he was superb and only troubled once by Becker in his final ride when the American almost sneaked through on the inside of the final turn. In fairness to the Aces #3 I suspect the track had changed from his previous ride which is what caught him out. Fricke's pass of Morrris in his 2nd ride was superb, forced him wide which allowed Etherigde through also, and the dive up in inside of Matsers to start the third lap in heat 13 was also impressive. Masters managed to go from first to last somehow in that race. Kurtz had a decent night but was outshone by the Aces two other heat leaders, Wright had a night to forget, strange fall in his second ride. Etheridge needlessly gave away a point to Becker in his final ride. Brennan was up & down, won heat 8, good battle with the Wolves reserves in heat 2 but couldn't get past Flint, while holding off Kemp. Missed out on a point to Kemp later on when after diving under him entering turn 2 lost momentum as he lifted on the back straight. Blodorn won heat 2 comfortably and was in the mix in heat 14 before his engine gave up. For Wolves I thought Becker & Kemp deserved more points than they managed, Kermp really needs to learn to gate. Masters & Worrall delivered the traditional away team 1-5 in heat 1 but then they didn't win a heat again for what seemed a long time as Aces dominated, grabbed a few 2-4's towards the end once the result was no longer in doubt. Morris hadn't looked quick suspect injury R/R did as much as he'd have scored. Why did tactical genius Peter Adams put a TS against Zagar? Fool. Douglas, Flint & Worrall did OK, Worrall will surely be disappointed to concede a 5-1 in heat 8. Highways England obviously knew Wolves were at the NSS tonight, so many bloody lane closures (and reduced speed limit) on the M6! No NSS premiership until July now, when the Aces look to restore some Roses pride.
  15. Big queue to get into the Grandstand as it opened & to collect a program.
  16. After posting this I noticed none of the club's who's adverts I see on social media seem to list the visiting teams main club sponsor. I remember one season in the early 90's Belle Ace were the Belle Vue Lookers Piccadilly Gold Aces according to the Cradley program, it didn't fit in the column!
  17. This looks like a painful fixture for the locals. 35-55.
  18. Just park in one of the surrounding urban roads, there are enough of them. If there is I haven't found it. Not one in Gorton certainly, might be one in Longsight. BELLE VUE V WOLVERHAMPTON – MONDAY, JUNE 13 @ 7:30PM [SGBP] Belle Vue ‘ATPI’ Aces: Max Fricke 8.23, Jye Etheridge 5.32, Matej Zagar 7.48, Charles Wright 6.13, Brady Kurtz (C) 7.71, Norick Blodorn 4.00, Tom Brennan RS; TM: Mark Lemon Wolverhampton Wolves: Sam Masters 8.48, Steve Worrall 6.43, Luke Becker 6.62, Ryan Douglas 7.33, Nick Morris 7.23, Drew Kemp 3.32, Leon Flint RS; TM: Peter Adam All riders seem to have come through Sunday's action unscathed. Are Wolves no longer sponsored by Parry's?
  19. So Monmore men return to NSS where they came away with the points from the Northern League Cup. Aces as yet unbeaten at home in the league but ideally need to stop leaking 1points to visiting teams. Assume both teams at full strength but Zagar, Fricke, Becker & Kurtz at least are in Polish eWinner Liga 1 action today. Brennan & Douglas also in Championship action today.
  20. Harsh on Neilsen, strongest team have in theory improved.
  21. Yes, I tend to agree. It would take a huge turn around for Panthers to grab a top 4 spot now, too many points dropped already. They also seem to be team with fortune on their side, facing Belle Vue & Kings Lynn in the same week when both are missing two riders including the rider that started the season as the teams #1. While I'd the Stars will be the other team to miss out on the playoffs with the Panthers, this Stars septet is much more competitive than the team they had on track last year, think Starke may have struggled to score 5.
  22. Did you witness Allen in Aces kevlars? It does seem that way. P'boro are one team that miss the cut, who is the other?
  23. I have only been to Wimbourne Rd twice, when on holiday in Dorest, I'm sure I saw Panthers there one year - Bjerre is the only Panther I remember that day other than those two, I'm sure the got a 5-1 over Chris Holder in his pomp that meeting.
