  1. So what are Lions hoping for? 1. B Kurtz 8.24 2. R Worrall 6.15 (=6.31/1.025) 3. K Pieszczek (can't find an average for him) 4. S Woźniak 5.91 (2016 GSA) 5. C Harris 7.40 (=7.59/1.025) 6. D Thompson 3.00 (??) 7. C Mountain 4.40 (=4.51/1.025, or do the RS's get some other discounted average?)
  2. I was in Gorzow when a male British referee smoking a fag with his feet on a counter while being shown on the big screen in the stadium wrongly excluded Zmarzlik from a heat. Brennan & Blodorn did enough, just!
  3. I don't really think British Speedway can ask more of its teams than the two legged final. Which was incredibly tense tonight.
  4. Yes, I saw fireworks on the TV while the trophy was being handed out & 10 riders were trying to squeeze onto a bench.
  5. I'm unsure on the Musielak exclusion, need a better angle. Holder & Howarth have been poor for Tigers over the two legs Brennan rode much better than I expected and the racing at Owlerton has been much better than it has been when I've seen it in recent years.
  6. Commiserations Sheffield Tigers. Couldn't go tonight due to medical appointment in the evening but it was tense enough watching on the TV.
  7. Or good ride from Blodorn from the awful gate 3. Not that I'm convinced gate 2 is much better. Not using Zagar in heat 8 means Aces need a 1-5 advantage when he's with Kurtz.
  8. So far so good for Aces but gate 4 has been an advantage and they've had it 3 times in the first 4 heats. If Holder was excluded Monday Kurtz had to go in heat 1 today. Ellis exclusion was frankly baffling.
  9. Different times indeed, I used to enjoy watching Wolves at Monmore back then.
  10. In my opinion SGP are planning a season without Russian's allowing Torun & Wroclaw to use ZZ for Sayfutdinov & Laguta again is denying two other riders employment.
  11. Kronso will probably survive in Ekstraliga as Grudziadz are going to be abjectly uncompetitive.
  12. Barely any passing at Owlerton after turn 2 lap 1 is complete these days.
  13. The NSS sets a high bar and that didn't get near it, one line near the fence. I thought Holder was correctly excluded from that heat. Unlucky as it was 50/50. Kerr was always going to drift out but Wright had his wheels in a straight line a long time prior to the collision, Holder hadn't finished turning the bike.
  14. Advantage Sheffield I feel. Topsy turvy night. With all the speed out wide track wasn't to Blodorn 's liking and after the coming together he had to have 7 rides. Why couldn't Aces use Brennan as injury RR for Wright in heat 14? Musielak has never ridden NSS so well. What Wright was doing when he hit the fence I have no idea, nothing to race for & no pressure just needed to get 4 laos complete and pick up the points.
  15. Yes. Modern day "gardening" is OTT. What makes me laugh is a rider spends an eternity preparing a groove, the start marshall makes them move. The riders does nothing in that new position and still makes a great start.
  16. With the exception of Bewley no Brit in attendance that night is as quick as Zagar and probably Kurtz at the NSS. The only Ace I'd expect Howarth to beat everytime they meet is Etheridge. I'd call it 50/50 between Howarth with Wright, Brennan & Blodorn. If Brennan can recapture his British final form Tigers are in trouble.
  17. Exactly the same could be said about Howarth's Aces counterparts Wright & Brennan. I think Ellis is the key man for Sheffield tonight, can he take points off Zagar & Kurtz?
  18. I think Belle Vue need to hit 55 tonight, which they are capable of doing. You do? I'm not sure I agree. Blodorn can be tremendous at the NSS but has shown no liking of Owlerton in three visits, that said he rode well in his final two rides at Foxhall in the semi final so could discover his form there. Etheridge tends to get by with one heat win at home and a couple of third places again showed no points scoring form at Owlerton this season. Sedgmen has struggled at NSS and has been a surprising choice as guest for teams on a few occasions, but as both have finished their Championship seasons how do the two reserve Aussies compare: Justin Sedgmen 7.39 Jye Etheridge 6.71 Sedgmen has been a heat leader (often the only one) for the Brummies, Etheridge started at reserve for the Bandits. Mountain showed good form in the British Final. Personally I think the Aces have the edge in the top three but the Tigers are stronger in the bottom 4.
  19. Tigers will stay Premier to run on Thursday. Steelers own Sundays in Sheffield.
  20. Doyle shed a chain battling Wright for 2nd if I recall correctly, the other Ace in that heat was well clear. Doyle didn't move from the gate because he didn't turn his fuel on. Wright. 7/5, 10/5 & 5/5 at Owlerton this year. 10 again would be good.
