  1. Yes, Andy who is Connor's dad, did ride at King's Lynn. They both rode in the same Amateur Meetings last season.
  2. He's a very good prospect Bee 26, but that is for the future and not now. He'll race his heart out, as he does for Mildenhall, but Elite League is a step to far I'd have thought. The fact that Ashley Morris hasn't found his form yet, might enable Connor to keep on the pace with one rider tonight. I wish him well though. Incidentally, summer has arrived this afternoon.....i.e. It's not raining now, and is drying out, but jeez it's damned cold.
  3. It's pouring with rain at Heacham (13-miles from the track) with no breaks in the sky at all. It is forecast to clear away this afternoon, and as someone has already said, Buster will provide a good track if it stops early enough. Rain apart, it's so bloody cold and windy, it's not going to be comfortable for anyone, when oh when are we going to get some warm evenings????
  4. Up to and including the 28th April, the MDL riders averages (excluding Challenge Matches) are as follows: - 12.00 Ryan MacDonald, Arron Morgridge, Danny Phillips; 10.67 Alex Wilson; 10.29 Conor Dwyer; 9.71 Ben Basford; 9.33 Adam Sheppard, Jamie Halder; 8.89 Tom Bacon; 8.71 David Holt; 8.67 Layne Cupitt; 8.00 Paul Bowen, Lee Geary, David Morgan, Kevin Whelan; 7.56 Robert Parker; 7.50 Andy Mellish; 6.67 Ryan Kinsley, Sam Ward; 6.55 Danyon Hume; 6.00 Ben Holloway; 5.33 Jeremy Pestell; 4.89 Rob Watts; 4.80 Jack Thomas, Adam Portwood; 4.71 Sam Darroch; 4.67 Luke Whitehead; 4.00 Chris Bambury, Sean Phillips; 3.75 Connor Fletcher; 2.67 Lee Springthorpe; Lewis Griggs, Harry Jones; 2.50 Mitchell Beckett; 2.40 Bradley Seal; 2.00 Lloyd Ditchburn, Niall Strudwick; 1.60 Cameron Hoskins; 1.54 Stephen Whitehouse; 1.00 Lawrence Fielding.
  5. That of course is now 60.6 secs by Georgie Wood on the 19th April 2015.
  6. You'd better contact either Dale, Laurence or Alison mate, but I haven't heard that it is.
  7. I thought there was a lot more KL fans than normal, but no where near as many from Mildenhall as in previous years.
  8. Tonight's 2nd leg of the MDL Vase has been called off due to Milton Keynes not being able to raise a team.
  9. It turns out that the MDL Vase in the 2nd half has been postponed due to rider unavailability for Milton Keynes.
  10. Norfolk has woken up to a fabulous morning weather wise, and is forecast to remain the same all day and evening. Although the 'Young Stars' built up a healthy 14-point lead in the 1st Round KO Cup tie in Suffolk on Sunday, automatic qualification can't be taken for granted. The 'Fen Tigers' are a wounded animal, and that makes them a threat, so the support of both clubs fans is of paramount importance, as we strive to urge our respective riders onto overall glory. King's Lynn are expected to line-up as they did at West Row, which is 1) James Cockle 2) Josh Bailey 3) Scott Campos 4) Shane Hazelden 5) Tom Stokes 6) Adam Portwood 7) Ryan Kinsley. Due to the sudden retirement of Liam Rumsey, the visitors are forced into making a change, and will be represented as thus: 1) Daniel Halsey 2) R/R 3) Connor Mountain 4) Nick Laurence 5) Connor Coles 6) Tom Bacon 7) Luke Ruddick. So as you can see by the line-ups, there are four riders who contested last nights British Under 21 Championship at Coventry, so there is quality in abundance to enjoy. This fixture is followed by the 2nd leg of the MDL Vase Final where the King's Lynn 'Lightning' hold a slender 4-point lead from the 1st leg. Line ups for this are expected to be: King's Lynn 1) Ryan Kinsley 2) Lewis Griggs 3) Adam Portwood 4) Jack Thomas. Milton Keynes 1) Tom Bacon 2) Stephen Whitehouse 3) Rob Watts 4) Sam Darroch. The meeting starts at 7.30pm, gates open at 6.30pm.
  11. I'll try giving it a go.....................OH DEAR!!!!!
  12. That would be nice if thicko's like me had the ability or mobile phone (I assume that's what you need!!) to use Twitter. Some of us older people have to use the older methods of communication. I am using Facebook, but struggle with that at times.
  13. It's a really lovely day tonight, albeit cold and windy, so hope a lot of King's Lynn fans can make it along to West Row this afternoon.
  14. With the weather look set to be good tomorrow, I'm pretty amazed that this local derby hasn't aroused any comments yet, other that on Facebook, which is a social media outlet that we don't all use!!! Providing the track doesn't get destroyed by the stock cars tonight, it could and should be a tight affair between two evenly matched sides, and a meeting I've been looking forward to since it was first announced. So fingers crossed for a big crowd, and a terrific afternoon of speedway.
  15. You can read all about it in this weeks Speedway Star.
  16. As others have said, a good meeting which was definitely helped by the not so regular grading, which in turn also lead to a much swifter run meeting, which is what the public want. Obviously on this occasion, Belle Vue were weak in certain areas, but then so are we at times when riding away, just look at the Lakeside meeting on Good Friday. Nicholls and to a lesser extent Fricke were top draw, well supported by Worrall. The Aces rider that took my eye was Nielsen, who has made a torrid start to the season, but he showed some form last night. I do however accept that both Lewis Kerr and Ashley Morris were off song, which no doubt boosted the scores of their two reserves. I think the future is bright for the 'Stars' because I doubt that the two reserves will have another night like that this season (at home), and if I were an 'Aces' fan, I wouldn't feel to disheartened, because I doubt Zagar and Cook will have many bad nights like that either. At the end of the day, everybody rides as a team, and its up to others to cover for fellow team mates who are struggling for whatever reason. Now changing the subject, what on earth is the Buster Chapman column all about in the programme? It's been identical, word for word, for three meetings on the trot now, and having known him for many years that's not his style. We are paying £2.50 for a programme, which is about par for the course, but we shouldn't have to be reading exactly the same things on both page 3 and 7 every week for our money. Finally, well done to Dale Allitt who stepped up to the plate, and did a tremendous job in covering for Rob Lyon. Like the riders, you did us proud.
  17. Hi Laurence, Are Peterborough going to take the Castleford fixtures as originally advertised? Thanks Mike
  18. So that's what's called speedway racing is it.............................I DON'T THINK SO!!
  19. It's a brilliant publication, and costs less than a lot of speedway programmes. Well done to everyone involved in this weeks great effort.
  20. Blimey, this meeting isn't being spoken much about by Lakeside fans!!!
  21. Pleased to hear that Lewis has been declared fit to ride by a doctor, subject to SCB approval. Lets hope that the bad weather holds off, so that the meeting can go ahead.
  22. I think the end of the world is nigh in this part of Norfolk, the weather is horrendous now. It'll be a miracle if the world is saved and this meeting goes ahead!! Don't think Jaybea would agree do you???
