  2. Fantastic news, so pleased for you all, as are my friends here in Norfolk.
  3. Well believe it or not, there is a speedway meeting at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight. With the announcement earlier this week that Cradley Heath are seeking a new management team for next year if the club are to continue, then this could be our LAST EVER chance to see the Heathens on a speedway track. The forecast is for the remainder of the afternoon and evening to stay dry, albeit it getting colder by the hour. With a fairly strong wind blowing, this should enable any rain that fell yesterday and the early hours of this morning, to dry out and provide a racers race track. The 'Young Stars' will want to be able to build up a substantial lead this evening, to take up to Perry Barr with them for the 2nd leg next Wednesday, and with a hoped for large vocal support from the terraces, this is well within the capability of the boys in Blue & White. The line-ups are as follows: KING'S LYNN: 1) Tom Stokes 2) Scott Campos 3) R/R 4) Shane Hazelden 5) Josh Bailey 6) Layne Cupitt 7) Ryan Kinsley. CRADLEY HEATH: 1) Max Clegg 2) R/R 3) Darryl Ritchings 4) Arron Mogridge 5) Matt Williamson 6) Jack Parkinson-Blackburn 7) Tyler Govier. The gates open at 6.30pm with the first heat getting underway at 7.45pm. So come on King's Lynn 'Stars' and 'Young Stars' fans, it's been a while since we saw any track action here in Norfolk (Amateur Meetings apart), so lets make it our aim to out number the usual large Cradley Heath travelling support.
  4. Do you have all the points scorers from this meeting please? It seems a bit bizarre him riding in the meeting, when he only competed in two league matches all season. But ride he did, so congratulations on retaining the trophy.
  5. Whoops I did Rob. I had two of them, and gave one away. It's just that I sold all my World Final programmes (1956 onwards) in auction a year or two back, and they didn't fetch much money at that. I think you pay way over the odds generally speaking on e-bay.
  6. If you have a look at the BSPA website under the 'Junior Section', I've had them put on there, and you'll find it all more presentable. Things seem to go ** up when I try and put them on Facebook or the BSF.

  8. Once again a superb British Youth Championship meeting presented in a very professional manner by all concerned. 2 hours 40 minutes to run an event of that nature with so many races, is a great effort, as we've probably all known Elite League matches to take longer than that at times to get through. Congratulations to the riders on giving it your all in the name of entertainment, just a shame that so few people bothered to turn up. The normal reason people give for not attending is for financial reasons, but surely most speedway followers can afford £5 to watch some stars of the future, especially if they only have a minimal distance to travel. It was over a 200-mile round trip for me, but worth every penny of the fuel that it cost me, although I do realise that not everyone could run to that particular expense. Now looking forward to returning for the NLRC next week.
  9. Still the King's Lynn website says that we are riding at Buxton this Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Buxton v King's Lynn has been scheduled for this Sunday for a long time now, and my/our hotel has been booked accordingly. However, I now read on the BSPA website, along with those of Buxton & Eastbourne, that the Sussex club are now visiting Derbyshire, and not King's Lynn, even though our website is still showing the fixture as being on!! If a switch in visiting teams to Buxton has been made, what is the reason for that, because Eastbourne are surely into the Gold Cup tournament, so don't need to beat the cut-off date. If this is the case, it's completely unfair on travelling supporters, who like myself, book hotels so as to make a long weekend in that beautiful part of the country.
  11. I agree with what both you and Halifaxtiger said. It was a superb night of racing, and it just beggars belief why there won't more people in attendance, I certainly thought Mildenhall would bring more supporters along (unless of course they were dressed in Birmingham clothing). It obviously didn't help with Peterborough running a meeting 30-minutes down the road, and the cold weather might not of helped, plus the football on TV. I know of five people that didn't attend purely because there was no concessionary rate of admission, but that was only five people. Crowds are dropping at an alarming rate, and unless a magic wand can be waved, I don't know how its going to sort itself out. It's such a shame when you see such a marvellous product as we did last night, unlike the follow the leader scenario of the Elite League.
  12. I've not seen a concessions price quoted, which is quite unusual.
  13. It's a beautiful afternoon now, and I'd have thought the only problem will be one of a possible sun delay.
  14. What a great afternoon of speedway the MDL Final produced, and well done to the hard and dedicated work put in by the Scunthorpe promotion, in enabling this meeting to go ahead, when every other meeting in the country was rained-off. It's been a funny old season in the MDL this year, with so many riders wearing the colours of so many different clubs, and I have at times asked myself whether this tournament is worthwhile any longer. It still needs some tweaking here and there for 2016, but when you see the startling progress that some of these lads have made in past 12-18 months, it makes you realise that it is worth persevering with. It's only a short while ago for instance, that Alex Wilson for example couldn't complete 4-laps without falling off, yet here we are now, where he's looking very polished, and was a real contender for the title yesterday. So, well done to all the riders, who it has to be said, presented a better race meeting than the earlier Premier League affair, although to be fair to those riders, track conditions weren't quite so good at that point. Team-managers of all clubs, and parents and sponsors of competitors involved, a round of applause to all of you for the massive part you've played in the 2015 campaign, and last but by no means least, well done and thank you to Laurence Rogers and Dale Allitt who have co-ordinated this competition during the summer months, with such expertise. Bravo to you all, and here's to more in 2016.
  15. Any weather news this morning please, as it's absolutely pouring down in Norfolk, and has been all night.
  16. BUGGAR, I looked at the club website a minutes ago, and there was nothing on there. Someone said it was on Twitter, but not everybody lives in that world, me included. I've arranged to do something else tomorrow night now, which means I've got to let the people down that I work for at speedway.....BUGGAR!!
  17. The rain has stopped again now. Playing in a bowls tournament this afternoon, so may not make the speedway tonight anyway, but still hope it stays dry for those that do venture along.
  18. What a fantastic evening of top draw racing, just brilliant. Well done to all riders.
  19. Here we are talking about the end of season play-off's in mid-August. Whatever happened to the good old days when we could carry on watching our favourite sport until the end of October!!
  20. Didn't see you Maureen, which is unusual. I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, even the MDL match too. Yep, a very good night out.
