Thanks for passing on my comments to Simon, but as it happens, they are friends of the family. Nevertheless, I still appreciate your kind actions. Sadly, nobody bothers to film the 'Young Stars' meetings, and I suppose that's because very few people bother to come and watch them, so sales would be almost zero. It's a shame, because like your recent meeting at Central Park against King's Lynn, this was an absolute cracker. It takes two teams to make a very entertaining meeting, and the Devon Demons can be very proud of how they went about their business, as can King's Lynn of course. I've praised National League racing to the hilt over the years, and taken a certain amount of slagging off on here as a result, but it won't stop me. Of course you get some crap races, as you do in the Premier League and especially the Elite League. Taking into account the level of racing we're talking about, the clashes between Lewis Rose and Simon Lambert were second to none at any level of racing. My only regret is that I didn't have my video camera with me, so that I could have put them on Facebook/You Tube for the speedway world to see, they were deserving of that.

Well they came.....they saw.....and they went home with nothing, but boy did they provide some guts and determination, and whilst I'm delighted that King's Lynn picked up all 3-points, the Devon side more than deserved a point for effort. Gentlemen, I stand up, take my hat off, bow and applaud each and every one of you. When folk look at the individual riders scores, they'll think I've been on the amber nectar, but believe me, they were worth more than they got, and had the inspirational James Shanes not had to withdraw from the meeting with an injury (hand I think), then the scorers would have been somewhat closer, and you were a credit to your band of travelling supporters. As for ourselves (King's Lynn), Scott Campos was terrific scoring 13-points from the main body of the team. Lewis Rose did all and maybe more than was expected of him, and as for comeback boy Tom Stokes, well I think he shook us all with a superb 12+2 from 5-rides. Final mention of the meeting, and pride of place has to go to 'Demons' guest for the night, Simon Lambert. Now in his 11th year of racing, I've never witnessed such a dominant performance from the Gosberton Risegate racer before. His performance even had a certain local promoter on his feet applauding. I just can't believe what I witnessed from this likeable young man, and after a troubled start to the season, I hope it's onwards and upwards from here on in. Bloody marvellous.

If like me, you live in the Hunstanton area, probably best you set off now. The place is already packed with day-trippers who seem to make their exit from the area at the same time as we want to leave for speedway. Also, the Sandringham Flower Show is on until 6.00pm, so we'll catch that lot too. But once you get clear of those two obstacles, that just leaves the A47........Happy motoring!!

Like your friend, due to health issues, I can only eat certain foods, which aren't available generally speaking at sports stadiums. I can understand why promoters don't want people to take their own food/drink into their stadiums, but forgetting any health issues, It costs people a lot of money to travel to, and pay to get into speedway meetings, and the weekly budget won't always allow for you to but overpriced refreshments as well.

I must say that I'm really looking forward to making my first ever visit to Shielfield Park this Saturday, although not the long journey involved from King's Lynn!! I did make the journey a few years ago, only to receive a phone call when some 10-miles from the stadium, to let me know the meeting had been rained-off. I see the BBC weather is forecasting some rain again for this Saturday, and all I can is wait with baited breath, and hope it's something of nothing. I get to see quite a lot of Rye House these days since King's Lynn opted to go into the Elite League, and I must say that I much prefer the Premier League racing. I spoke to a lot of Peterborough fans on Sunday, and for them, it's the best thing there club ever did was to drop down a level, if that's what you can call it. Although I think the 'Bandits' will chalk up quite a large victory, the introduction into the 'Rockets' septet of Anders Mellgren, does give them that extra bit of strength than they might otherwise have been. So good luck in your meeting against Edinburgh tonight, stay injury free, and I look forward to being in your company on Saturday evening.
