Hi Laurence, Did the Coventry v Buxton fixture take place on Friday, as I can't locate any results from it if it did? Thanks Mike Laurence, The report says that Sam Ward suffered an arm injury in Heat 1, but then the heat details show both him and Bradley Seal falling and being disqualified in Heat 2. Can you clarify please, as the referee hasn't forwarded his programme through for the SCB site yet? Ta much Mike -

I didn't dare risk it with the weather being so bad around the country. Is there a website anywhere that I can pick up all the results and heat details please? -
British Youth 125cc Championship - 20th July 2014
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I would have though the Youth Meeting would be part and parcel of the Peterborough programme against Edinburgh as that's what Eastbourne have done in the past. -
I know it doesn't matter now that it's off Martin, but I just can't understand why the National League along with the MDL (although Laurence does do his best to keep on top of things) and NJL don't really push these meetings to the hilt. To be honest, with my own club, unless you've attended a senior meeting the week before, you'd hardly know the National League side had a match forthcoming, then eyebrows are raised at the pathetic attendance levels. It matters not whether it's Elite, Premier, National, Midland Development or Northern Junior League, at the end of the day, it's four people racing speedway on an oval track, producing thrill and entertainment at their respective levels, and are ALL worthy of support.......and PROMOTION. No matter what the sport, if the root isn't allowed to grow then it won't blossom, and will eventually fade away and die, and whilst a lot of people poo poo the idea, this will in my opinion eventually happen in speedway. The day is fast approaching when promoters won't be able to afford to keep bringing in riders from other countries, with the crowd levels at even some of the senior level tracks dipping away fast, then the need to use British youngsters will be more or less the only option left to them, by which time that development chain won't be there due either to lack of support by the public, or lack of promotion by various clubs.

British Youth 125cc Championship - 20th July 2014
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Even at 2.30pm, it leaves punters sitting around for a long time with nothing to do. I appreciate your comments about the track being sorted for what you describe as the main event, but surely it should already have been prepared properly for the kids anyway, and should only need a couple of re-grades. -
It was my intention to attend this meeting, but I'm told that it's starting at 1.30pm, can somebody please verify that? If that is the case, then I'll give it a miss, because at the non-stop pace that these meetings are run, which is how speedway should be run, it should be all over by 3.00pm at the very latest. This would leave a 2-hour wait before the Peterborough v Edinburgh meeting commences, which is a ludicrous amount of time to expect the public to sit around waiting. If that is proven to be the start time, then that is unfair on the youngsters, as apart from family and friends, nobody is going to be stupid enough to turn up that early with such a long interval. The young riders deserve support, and that, if true, won't encourage it. So would somebody please tell me that I've been misinformed and post what is hopefully a more realistic time, otherwise my custom will go to another track somewhere in the country.

Forget facebook SPEEDY69, it's a pain in the arse. If speedway clubs etc., can't be bothered top post on a forum set up especially for British Speedway, then I shouldn't bother with them, I know a lot that don't. -
King's Lynn V Long Eaton (mdl) - 16th July 2014
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Before I post the result of tonight's meeting, just because I'm quite a well known face at the Norfolk Arena, I only work in the Track Shop, and contribute to what I agree with you all when you say, it is not a good programme this year. I can fully understand the frustrations of the great many of you tonight, as you were not able to obtain a racesheet for the MDL meeting against Long Eaton. I also fully understand the disappointment of the 'Invaders' fans who made the journey to support your team, and to at least one person I saw demanding his programme money be refunded. Although it's only 6-heats of junior racing, at the end of the day, it's your team and is all you've got, and you want those keepsakes such as a programme. To those who said that every other club produces details in their programmes when a MDL match is involved, then yes I agree with that too, and yes I know Stoke produce a separate programme, and don't included in their National League publication. I can assure you that generally speaking the MDL details DO appear in our programme, and the fact they weren't tonight are for reasons unknown to me, and I found it equally frustrating and embarrassing. I made a contribution to tonight's programme, which also didn't appear, so there must have been good reason for the two things being missed out. I know it's still inexcusable that at least a single sheet with the heat details etc on, wasn't made available to you the public, but rather than show your understandable anger towards some us working at the stadium, you needed to approach the management, who may have been able to offer you the answers you were seeking. I hope you were still able to enjoy your evening KING'S LYNN 26 1. Josh Bailey 3-2-3-3 = 11 2. Layne Cupitt 2*-3-1*-3 = 9+2 3. Adam Kirby Rider Replacement 4. Hi Kieran, Referee Stuart Wilson has sent his report in as saying you scored 2+2 from two rides. I'll speak to Dennis McCleary who was sat in the referee's box, for his point of view. Thanks for highlighting the difference of opinion. Cheers Mike
