First and foremost I must say that in a couple of previous postings I've made on the BSF, I've been very critical regarding the gentleman behind the microphone (in referee's box), saying things that maybe I shouldn't have done. These were caused by my frustration of not being able to hear what he was saying, when everything else was audible over the PA system, especially the magnificent performances of Rob Godfrey. I have to say here and now, that yesterday, everything was spot on, but what really impressed me was the fact that the announcer, whose name I don't know, requested that I go up into the box to speak with him, to see if he'd been any clearer. He didn't have to do that, and the fact that he did, has earned my utmost respect and admiration. You're a true gentleman sir, and I thank you very much indeed. As for the meeting, WOW, WOW, WOW, what a fabulous show from both sides, on what has got to be one of the best race circuits in the country, particularly this season. Yes, there were some lesser performances from a couple of riders, but it's a team sport, and you win or lose as such. Thank you to EVERYONE, who made it such an enjoyable afternoon, apart from whoever ordered that blooming cold weather again, does it ever get warm in that part of the country. It will almost certainly be my final visit of 2014 to the Eddie Wright Raceway due to varying reasons, but what a memory to depart with. Good luck for the remainder of the campaign, one which of course is going to see you end up as Premier League Champions, because Rob Godfrey said so....haha!!! Mike Moseley

Looks like the home fans are looking forward to this Rob, with all the postings they're making!! It's unusual for nobody to pass any thoughts on what might, or might not happen. I reckon the Scorpions will emerge victors, but Plymouth are no mugs, and they'll put up a good fight. Does anybody local reading this, no what the weather forecast is for tomorrow afternoon please? Ta ever so much.

I'm very much looking forward to these two matches Rob, and just hope that we enjoy some good weather. I know the racing will be good, as it nearly always is at the Eddie Wright Raceway. My biggest wish is that the PA system will be finally audible, and that you can hear what the guy behind the mic is saying. Understanding Ron from the middle is no problem, but it's the guy in the box (god only knows what he does with that mic when he's speaking into it). As a matter of interest, have the 'Stags' re-declared their side, or are Sam Chapman and Adam Kirby riding as guests?

I hope that all goes as planned Malcolm, and that you can get your season underway, and hopefully enjoy a successful one. I've got two scheduled visits in my diary so far, so fingers crossed on all fronts. All the Best Mike

Stockton V Castleford (cm) - 10th April 2014
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
It's hardly surprising that it's not easy to establish what is going on in this league. So it seems that this meeting was actually a cup match between Redcar & Castleford, yet the referee has clearly headed his programme as it being a challenge match between Stockton & Castleford!!!!!! I rest my case and give up. -
King's Lynn V Belle Vue (mdl) - 16 April 2014

To be honest you older looking man, it appears that very few of us, and I can only think of a couple, really care. We'll keep fighting the cause though!! -

They were just your everyday sort of tumbles really Martin, but it was an enjoyable meeting to watch. The only negative(s) was that the meeting was drawn out way to long, and it was damned cold, my old bones are beginning to let me know they are old. On the positive side, I still look umpteen years younger than 'Main Man'....LOL!! -

Tonight sees King's Lynn take on Belle Vue in a meeting that both sides will be wanting to win, as both sides are pointless at this moment in time. Last Friday saw the 'Lightning' go down 24-11 at Coventry, whilst two nights ago, the 'Colts' were beaten 23-13 at home against a very impressive Stoke quartet. With neither Buxton or Sheffield having ridden a meeting yet, points gained by either side, will lift them off the bottom of the league, in fact an outright victory for either side, will also lift them above Rye House. Although the team line-ups must be known, as the programmes will have been printed, neither camp has disclosed their sides to the public, but whatever they are, it's a meeting that will be staying on to watch after the Elite League match.

Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Thanks for explaining the situation, much of which I was not aware. You're obviously one of the people that organises the NJL meetings, and I wish you well, and that your hard work id fully rewarded at the end of the day. I will quietly search around to see if I can find the details that I want, but sadly, for whatever reason, I just don't seem to be able to navigate Facebook very well. Well I do know the reason, it's called age!!! Thanks once again. -

Thanks for that, but I don't think Facebook publish heat details, which is what I require. Thanks also for the info about Castleford v Berwick, which has to be a bit farcical. Blimey, it's only mid-April, surely a new date could have been found, the season has only just started. Best Wishes to you. Mike -

Hi Buxton Tiger, Well that didn't reproduce in anything like the way that I typed it. If the opponents are in capital letters, it means it's a home fixture for Northside. For the second season in a row, the Midland Development League, thanks to 'Main Man' is providing a good service, but as you say, this Northern Junior League is a "Secret Society". This is not just a shame for people who like to follow what's going on, but it's a travesty of justice for the young riders who are not getting to see their names in print, which is the least they deserve for putting their young lives on the line to entertain us. I know that the scores eventually find their way into the Speedway Star, but it's not an in depth service (i.e. Heat results etc), and not everybody buys that magazine these says. Some might say that the results go on Facebook, which is something I rarely dabble in, as it can easily take over your life. I must admit that when I've checked Facebook for the results for my own team, it's a very poor service once again, with just the scorers, but no heat details. It's a sad fact of life, that most clubs just don't care. -

As NOBODY seems the slightest bit interested in posting their clubs results on the BSF, I do wonder if maybe I'm wasting my time researching all round the web trying to put these results together. In case anyone is interested, here's a result that I came across from three days ago. Please Please Please clubs that are participating in the Northern Junior League, get your acts together and start providing something for those who care to read how your youngsters are progressing. Last year the results service was very poor, this year, it's dire. Simply disgraceful in fact. STOCKTON 17 1. Dale Lamb - DID NOT RIDE 2. Ben Basford (2-3-3) = 8 3. Kyle Bickley (3-3-3) = 9 4. As always Laurence, very many thanks for posting these in depth details. Be happy in the knowledge that one person at least appreciates what you are doing, and that you are providing a service for those that don't use Facebook. 10 out of 10 mate. -
