  1. I thought it was only Justin Elkins people at Wimbledon wanted to forget Obviously my list the other day wasn't all from memory, but a lot were, it was just that I didn't have time to dig out a comprehensive list. STILL WAITING FOR YOUR APOLOGY ABOUT THE DERBYSHIRE DALES.......................IN PUBLIC
  2. Parsloes old chap, I was just getting ready to go to speedway at King's Lynn when i saw Speedguy's request, so I knocked something up as quickly as I could from memory, so yes there were names that I missed. Here is the 2003 list. 4. Come on Parsloes, don't be so damn stupid about this Cumbrian Dales branch, your boss knows full well that the Barking Dales branch has what you want
  5. Drive past Derwent Park & Tesco on left, and follow road down to the roundabout. Straight across at roundabout, where you are bound to see the venue signposted. If memory serves me right, I believe E-on is on the corner where you turn in, but I'm not 100% sure on that. There must be a Worky fan reading this who can provide exact directions for you.
  6. The meeting is scheduled to take place at Northside during the day on Saturday 19th September. It will finish in plenty of time for people to get to Derwent Park for the mouthwatering clash with King's Lynn, as I understand that some of the track staff will be working at both venues.
  7. Thanks very much everyone with your help regarding Adam's DOB. Mike
  8. I'm trying to bring some of my records up to date, and I had it noted that Adam was born in Spalding on the 6th February 1995. However, my friend has something completely different recorded, so is there anyone on this forum who is in a position to confirm or otherwise the information that I have, happy in the knowledge that they are 100% correct? Thanks very much. Mike
  9. Rob, Look at my posting in the King's Lynn v Bournemouth topic. Mike
  10. Sure is, I hope the British U15 meeting has the correct date by it, and not the next day!!
  11. Thanks Rhidassa. This Saturday sees King's Lynn host the next round of the highly successful British U15 Championship. So far, each round has been raced out in front of very healthy crowd levels, and having witnessed the recent round at Buxton, I can see why. These lads show a class and maturity way beyond their years, and GB team manager Rob Lyon, must be extremely optimistic of a good long term future for the sport in this country. Broken down into two classes (250cc & 500cc), the meeting provides a minimum of 19-heats of scintillating action. The 250cc line-up usually comprises of Daniel Sibson, Jack Cornes, Brandon Freemantle (outstanding talent), Steven Archer, Nathan Stoneman, Reece Downes (Oh so entertaining), Adam Portwood, Jack Jones and Tyler Govier. The 500cc and slightly more experienced riders come from the likes of: - Jack Butler (former Boston mascot); Kyle Howarth (already a Scunthorpe Saint), Darryl Ritchings, Ashley Morris (another Saint), Josh Dingle, Adam Portwood (races both 250cc and 500cc), Daniel I'Anson, Adam Kirby, Tom Stokes and Cameron Hoskins.
  12. So now we are a matter of days away from this supposed British U15 meeting at King's Lynn, and still no official announcement has been made about it. Is it any wonder that the public don't come along and support some of these events, it's not always their fault? Come on people, is the meeting on or not????

  14. Cheers Neil, will we have the pleasure of your company this evening?
  15. Thanks Steven. I must admit that a National League fixture on a Saturday afternoon is quite unusual. All the Best Mike
  16. It was reported in the Buxton programme that a round of the championship would be staged at King's Lynn on the 22nd August. Could the organisers of the competition please confirm that is right, and what time the meeting is scheduled to start. The reason I ask is because the King's Lynn Barracudas are advertised as racing againts Bournemouth on that particular date. Thank You Mike

  18. A question I've asked too, but as of yet got bo reply
  19. I'd have travelled miles to see this meeting.......and did!! After witnessing a superb meeting between Scunthorpe and King's Lynn on Friday night, I motored across to the Peak District this morning, not really knowing what to expect from such young riders. I need not have worried, as they rode with a maturity way beyond there years, and were a joy to watch. Once again, Buxton put on a slick presentation, completing the meeting in a sensible time, something that not many tracks manage to do these days. The riders were a credit to all concerned, and were out for their races without any need of a two minute warning, apart from a couple of times. What really impressed me, and something I think referees should make the professional riders in the National, Premier & Elite leagues adhere to, was the fact that if there was a starting offence, or a rider falling early in the race and suffering a disqualification, the remaining three riders returned straight to the tapes immdeiately instead of the pits, thus wasting more time. Although it's probably not practical, I'd like to see every club in the country have to stage one of these type of meetings (Junior GP if you like), and it should be compulsory for ALL speedway fans to attend the said meetings, failure to do so would mean either life imprisonment or the death penalty, dependant on who you support Thanks to everyone, for making my afternoon such an enjoyable one. Just one question now if Main Man should read this. The programme today says the next round is at King's Lynn on the 22nd August, do you know what time it is scheduled to start, as the Barracudas are racing against Bournemouth that day.......unless that fixture has been altered? Mike
  20. Cheers mate, at long as it stays dry the rest doesn't matter. Cya Saturday.
  21. Yes, looking forward to this one Laurence, do you know what the weather forecast is for them there parts? Mike
  22. I would have liked to have seen meetings at Norwich, Stamford Bridge & Yarmouth. Of the current tracks, I've never been to Redcar, so I need to do that sometime. My favourite all-time racetrack was Hackney (Ouch, and I was a Wimbledon supporter in those days!!)
  23. Mimmo

    Ken Vale

To the best of my knowledge, Ken is still around, and will be eighty-five on the 24th of this month. Mike
  24. Cyril celebrated his 75th Birthday on the 19th January. Regards Mike
