Personally I'm delighted it's 6pm start time as I have a family and work so taking up my Saturday afternoon was a problem. Loys of people work Saturdays and if they do a 3pm start is not possible, I agree with others to it clashes with the football at the start and end of the season including the Reds. There are quite a few reds fans also attend speedway so if they are at home they have a choice to make. I do feel for the people relying on public transport to get there and home as its crap at best our public transport. Not sure if the attendance went up last season on the meetings they had at 6pm but hopefully the speedway do end up getting the floodlights from Borough Park and we get real speedway under the lights how good would that be.

Nope I said others had suggested that on the Facebook page 🤔

This is a big gamble both for the club and rider, I've no idea what the club have seen in him to give him a Championship place, he is not ready to be in the Championship and I see no past form to back it up. This could knock him back as a rider, there are many NDL riders who have shown more than him. I presume Viv Muddle can not have any parentage to be a 2 pointer because thats who i thought they were going to go with.

I'm going on about the coments on the Workington page not his personal one !!!!

I'm not confused I agree he no where near Championship level but the posts on Facebook suggest him thats all I put.

No7 named tonight and strong rumours it's Jack Schmelt now that would be a huge step up from what he been showing riding in the NDL.
-
I think Perry is a decent rider and will click soon, both Poole and Glasgow seen potential in him and I was sure he was in our 1-7 with him not being signed up this season yet.
-
Looks like leaving us with a very weak reserve if Max Perry does not fit.

Big gamble this yes he is a Danish rider but has anyone heard of him ? He very young to be doing 3 big Leagues, is he going to be available for Saurdays if he had a Polish contract ? 5pt average is alot to give away to an unknown rider. Hope I'm wrong just think it's a gamble and be fairly expensive contract to id say with flights etc.

No way would any club touch Garrity ? Surely not where has this come from ?

Unless it is a permit I do not understand why you would not announce your team if you have the riders signed up, this surely helps promote the club and sell tickets and sponsorship if people actually know who the team are. It's been every year last to announce there team.

That was a hard watch wasn't it ? So much he could have discussed but he came over as if he was forgetting everything.

Totally agree with that my only concern is him staying in the team, he jacked in 2024 when the team were doing really well.

Big gamble this on the last two seasons history of him packing in mid season. Never thought I'd see him back for the Comets after what he di in 2024 but the promotion have obviously accepted it now and moved on. Craig Cook when fit is still a top 10 rider in the Championship trouble is staying fit and motivated.

Yeah understand the costs involved to be competitive but most riders do not need two bikes. Massive vans to

Might sound daft this but its the riders that are killing the sport, they are asking for so much point money knowing the crowds attending can not raise enough money to keep clubs sustainable. Yes its a dangerous sport and they deserve to be well paid but the way its heading there will be no speedway very soon for these same riders. Yep I know its the promoters that agree to contracts but the sport is sadly not a full time job no more for the vast amount of riders. Years ago most the riders had other jobs nowadays they mainly are all full time riders needing full time money. I remember when Workington first started back i think there was only Stoney with 2 bikes now every rider has two bikes and even the reserves class it as a full time job.

You would think if the Cook rumour is true he would have had some serious conversations with Andrew about commitment. He would certainly be cheaper to employ than the last time he rode as his options are not great. But he has let so many teams down over the last few seasons would you gamble on him ? I still think he could be a top 10 rider in this league but its a big gamble.

Is this Cook rumour a serious one ? Where has it came from ?

Very strong looking team that and a brilliant promotional video to announce it to 👏 👏 👏 👏

Only asking as Workington really struggled last season due to no number 1 rider. The new rule meaning only one 8pt man rach team has him up against some good riders much harder to get points at number 1. I was expecting Klindt or Kilderman if im being honest. But I know nothing of this rider that's why I asked.

Genuine question is he good enough to be a number 1 rider ?
