  1. Very early call off this, forcast does not look that bad to make a call now.
  2. My concern on Cook is he has not been near since his "injury" even only living down the road which I find strange, you would think he would be down supporting his team mates.
  3. Strange with Cook missing again, not even been near the track the last two home meetings which seems strange considering how close he lives. Edinburgh away is certainly a track we need him at. Just seen Edinburgh post on teams but nothing off Workington looks like Max not riding either
  4. All sorts of rumours about Cook flying around again.
  5. I'd say they had his Kevlars made with the rest of the team as this looked to be a done thing once 4 meetings were complete. I'm a bit suprised by some of the comments on Facebook about this being an excellent signing and Awsome let's just calm down a bit and give the lad a chance he has a under 3pt average for a reason after quite a bit of experiance now. Just hope his liking for Northside can kick him on to the potencial that both Poole and Glasgow seen in him, he should by now be a +4 pt rider.
  6. This whole incident was how not to run a sport. I was watching the stream and the angle definately backed the referee's original call and it should have stayed that way. The way it unfolded was embarassing to say the least, even the phone footage made it a 50 50 call as you could say Cook was leading and Battye should not have gone for a pass that was not on which to me was what Jackobson did trying to go around Battye on that same turn. It's a big manouve to try and pass around the outside at Berwick and pull it off that high. Greg should still have been no where near the box to be in a position to show the referee anything but as for Willie to actually watch it well I still can not belive he did never mind then change his already made announcement. Was not going to change the meeting much as Berwick were fantastic out of the gate espesially prior to ht9 but was still wrong.
  7. Gonna be a struggle today now, after all the positives from the first home meeting this is the last thing we need. Surely there is a better option than Cluff available, he has hardly scored a point riding at reserve for Edinburgh this season. Its not even a phone call you would make asking if Cluff was available. And young Jamie is so far out of his depth its doing him and the Comets no good at all, why was he ever signed ?
  8. I always thought once the decision had been announced that was it. Came over very poor on the live stream. They even showed some clip they received from a fan on the 3rd bend.
  9. I thought it was a stupid move from Niklas to try and go around turns 3&4 at Berwick not knockkng him for effort but there was no room up around there, even if they had not clipped each other I think he would have ended up in the fence. Really bad decision from the ref to change his mind and then exclude Craig even though after the stream showed a reply off someone's phone Craig left him with very little room Comets gating was shocking to say the least up to heat 9.
  10. To me it's either use guests for a while or it's change both reserves, think we all agree it seems to soon for young Jamie to be in the Championship it's just going to ruin his confidance. He was miles off the pace at Redcar.
  11. Weekend P&P cancelled plus 1st meeting so going to be a while until our 1st meeting as the track is being used next week for them Flat Track racing events on Saturday and Sunday.
  12. I think Tate is one of them confidance riders but with injuries and getting constantly beat up rising for Belle Vue this knocks his form and with Belle Vue can see that continuing this season also unfortunately. Should have just stuck to the championship for a while building his confidance up. On a side note has anyone seen Craig Cook on a speedway bike since he signed ? Seen hin on a mountain bike and a motorcross bike but not a speedway one.
  13. Totally agree the Comets have to plan ahead with there fixtures and start times but just a quick check at what else is on flags this up, and there are a fair few Comets fans that also watch the Reds or Carlisle so will have an effect on there crowd. Not sure if it's the same stewards that also do the Reds because if it is there last ever game at Bourgh Park could be a big crowd.
  14. 25th April is a bad date to run at 3pm start time with both Workington Reds and Carlisle United having their last league games of the season that day to. Could also be reds last ever game at Bough Park.
  15. Personally I'm delighted it's 6pm start time as I have a family and work so taking up my Saturday afternoon was a problem. Loys of people work Saturdays and if they do a 3pm start is not possible, I agree with others to it clashes with the football at the start and end of the season including the Reds. There are quite a few reds fans also attend speedway so if they are at home they have a choice to make. I do feel for the people relying on public transport to get there and home as its crap at best our public transport. Not sure if the attendance went up last season on the meetings they had at 6pm but hopefully the speedway do end up getting the floodlights from Borough Park and we get real speedway under the lights how good would that be.
  16. Nope I said others had suggested that on the Facebook page 🤔
  17. This is a big gamble both for the club and rider, I've no idea what the club have seen in him to give him a Championship place, he is not ready to be in the Championship and I see no past form to back it up. This could knock him back as a rider, there are many NDL riders who have shown more than him. I presume Viv Muddle can not have any parentage to be a 2 pointer because thats who i thought they were going to go with.
  18. I'm going on about the coments on the Workington page not his personal one !!!!
  19. I'm going on about the coments on the Workington page not his personal one !!!!
  20. I'm not confused I agree he no where near Championship level but the posts on Facebook suggest him thats all I put.
  21. No7 named tonight and strong rumours it's Jack Schmelt now that would be a huge step up from what he been showing riding in the NDL.
  22. I think Perry is a decent rider and will click soon, both Poole and Glasgow seen potential in him and I was sure he was in our 1-7 with him not being signed up this season yet.
  23. Looks like leaving us with a very weak reserve if Max Perry does not fit.
  24. Big gamble this yes he is a Danish rider but has anyone heard of him ? He very young to be doing 3 big Leagues, is he going to be available for Saurdays if he had a Polish contract ? 5pt average is alot to give away to an unknown rider. Hope I'm wrong just think it's a gamble and be fairly expensive contract to id say with flights etc.
