Gp Wild Cards Next Year
tigerblues replied to rentaghost's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sometime in October I do believe. And there's already a thread on this in the Grand Prix section(if it's still open ) -
Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
tigerblues replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeah, like the 2nd rider in the world did at Cardiff. Yeah, I know, there's not much chance of them doing much, but this is the GP for God's sake, it's not as if we can guess and be right(well, not often anyway) -

Who will? The Brits? Don't comment until you've seen the meetings....you can't predict whether Lee and Scott will be good until you see them in next years GPs!!!!! -
Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
tigerblues replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Because they're not ready. It's about entertainment as well as scoring. Anyway, I'm not taking this argument further, Lee and Scott are in and the rest aren't. Simple. -
Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
tigerblues replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well, if that's the reason, then they DO want Brits. Now I'll rephrase my original post....if they want Brits, which British rider is better than Lee?! -
Confirmed Wildcards Are.....

Well, they're not good enough because they didn't qualify? 8 riders in the GP then! Unless they have qualifiers, because getting a nomination is a bit stupid really. -

Well Scott Nicholls should defo have a place. Lee then...if he's not good enough, which British rider is? Unless of course he was replaced by Zagar, Bjerre, Iversen, although I think they will want 2 Brits(Dunno why, just think they will). -

I understand what you're saying about why is it Lee and no Anderson, but why the Brits are saying he shouldn't be in is beyond me! Well, put it like this. We should really have two Brits, right? Scott Nicholls - No question about it, he deserves it, being the British best. Lee Richardson - Came 2nd in a GP, and who else replaces him... Simon Stead - Excellent, this lad is. But not ready for GP just yet. Chris Harris - Same as Steady, will get a chance when he is ready. David Norris - Had a bad injury, and is not at his best currently. Might get the WC again, but not a fixed place. Mark Loram - Now for me, he is THE best of the Brits! BUT, has been nursing a lot of injuries, and also had a weird season(had his moments, but not at his best). Edward Kennett - Was a Cardiff reserve this year(I think!!!)but is no where near ready for the GP. Well, there ya have it ladies and gentlemen. Now, take your pick on who can replace Richardson....exactly, no one!!!!! -
Date Of Cardiff Gp 2006
tigerblues replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Will be my first trip to Cardiff next year, so can anybody tell me how quickly the tickets sell? Is it likely they'll sell out? Just that we were planning to book a bit later. Thanks in advance. -

I heard 6th June! No idea what day that is, lol, but I don't think we'll know for definite for a few months yet. -
2005 World Champion
tigerblues replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done Tony...a credit to the sport, inspiration to many. I think he has it in him to make it 7 before he retires, but that will be decided in the next few years. -
Polish Grand Prix - Bydgoszcz
tigerblues replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done Lee!!!! Obviously I wanted him to win it, but there was just no stopping Gollob once he got out of the gates well. Best Brit on the track....at least he didn't make a numpty of himself in the semis, like one Brit does a lot...*cough* Scott Nicholls *cough* -
Yeah, that's what I meant, he's past his best.

Scandinavian GP - Meeting comments
tigerblues replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It amuses me how Richardson can win one race and then be pathetic afterwards. OK, so the tapes going up wrong was part of it. But surely he should be performing the same as he did in the World Cup!? It's the same opposition and the same tracks, so has he got an excuse? Not really! It might be worth putting Steady or Bomber in, giving them a chance. Chrznowski out, Sullivan should go too. Iversen and Zagar in. -
Goooooo Wright and King.....

Jumping The Start
tigerblues replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In the GP, EL, PL and I bet even CL racing, you get people jumping the starts all the time. In many I have seen, this has been a bad move. What I want to say, is I think it was the SWC, I think it was Lindback!? Anyways, he set off far too early, sent the tapes in front of him, but seeing as he didn't break the tapes, the ref let the race continue. How stupid is that!? As it happens, I don't thnk he won the race, but surely the ref should have excluded Lindback(correct me if I'm wrong, btw!)or sent him off 15 metres. If they'e gonna enforce rules, are they gonna stick to them, or just exclude who they want when they want(Like the GP on Saturday, to quote Nicki P..."Well, I know you're Polish and everything...." ). Surely, if they're going to be harsh on exclusions etc, they should be the same on every rider! -

Well said Tsunami. Wait till Greg catches someone's wheel. Then see what Sam has to say. -
Any News Of George Jarvis ?
tigerblues replied to MONKEYBOY's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Sorry to hear about George. If I'd have been at Sheffield on Thursday(which I normally am)I would know how bad he crashed, as I would have stayed after heat 15 to watch them. Hope you have a really speedey recovery. xxx -
Hmm, to be fair, Screeny is getting a bit old. He's still got it in him to race Elite, but not exactly a Team GB rider IMO. Scott Nicholls.......very surprising result. I thought he might have been looking towards 10....he is the best in Britain and a 6.55 average is not his best. Steady and Bomber......very very pleasing. They did superb at Swindon, and never stopped trying at the final. And Richardson......better than the GP, he was this year's star. Not the averages I expected, but still a pleasing start to the younger twos careers with Team GB. The Poles deserved it more than anyone though

Lee Richardson
tigerblues replied to full-throttle's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ooh, Mr Richardson, top scoring Brit........AGAIN. Unlucky that we lost, but Lee was really something. I know he didn't do quite as well as Swindon but still a class act! -
A GB panther, what next? I might find a nice little picture to put in mine actually.......watch this space, lol!
-
I'm just going to think positive. I did it on Sunday and I'm going to try my luck again tonight. If we don't win.....oh well, we made it into the final which is more than the Aussies can say. If we win, we win, and it'll be fantastic. If we don't, we just have to think, oh well, let's wait till next year. Don't write us off yet though!!!!!! COME ON TEAM GB!
-
Don't worry, if we win, mine's staying up until next year! Well it might do, I might get bored after a few weeks
-
Lee Richardson
tigerblues replied to full-throttle's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You know tonight, if, and it's a big if, but if we win, and everyone performs the same as they did on Sunday.......I hope there'll be a few more people on here supporting Lee. Because some of the stuff being said on here is just unfair(I said SOME not ALL). He is trying hard to represent his country, and tonight, whether we win or lose, I think all the team will have done their very best. Just out of curiousity, is there any other Team GB riders you don't like, or just Lee? Just wondering.........
