  1. Tonight was pretty much crap. Races were over by the 2nd bend. There were a few good races but out of 25 it's a very small minority. Time the GPs and World Cup tracks were prepared with something on them? Slick as a board and no lines or grip to pass at all!
  2. Watching the world cup now I've noticed a few things about this track 1. there is no air fence (doesn't look like it anyway) 2. fans are allowed to stand right up to the boards, just seen 2 who shook Andersen's hand after a race Now I'm not being bitter, but surely if there is rules for the EL regarding safety fences, such rules should also be in place for the World Cup, and if a meeting like the world cup can be allowed to run here, why has the ELRC been moved from Sheffield? Sorry to bring all this up again but are there any rules like this for the world cup, similar to those in the EL and as far as I know, other leagues that must have air fences.
  3. Unfortunate for AJ and Sweden, but how much as this upped our chances. Straight to the final will be a lot easier now.
  4. Hope you didn't misinterpret my post as that I would disagree with this, I really agree. I just think that this year we don't have enough riders and a manager only has to name the riders, in the future no doubt we'll have a lot more to play with in which case I think a new manager would certainly be a lot better, in fact I think it could be as soon as next year, surely a few of our young Brits coming through will be just about ready to ride and do well in the world cup.
  5. Holder is awesome, can't wait to see him mixing with the top riders.
  6. It's down to the riders, not Middlo. Middlo picked a top 4 that anybody would have and then there are only about 2 or 3 riders who could even replace Kennett and 1 of those is out now injured (Howe), so what else does he need to do to "inspire us to SWC glory"?!
  7. Kyle doesn't know how to give up so yeah I agree, it might not be this year, or the year after, or even the year after that, but it will happen.
  8. It's becoming clearer who we really should have kept at Sheffield now. I doubt he'll make the GPs (but then again I also doubted Chris Harris once he got the wildcard ) but for getting this far Kyle, very proud of you.
  9. That's a good point actually. I would agree here... Nicholls and Bomber will be near enough untouchable I'd imagine on their home track... Steady AFAIK is pretty handy at Brandon, and everyone knows what Richardson can do in a GB racejacket as well as the fact he's no stranger to the Coventry track. Kennett is on form and even if he doesn't ride to what we need we can always stick Howe in for the latter stages of the meeting, if need be, although Ed will definitely be out to impress.
  10. IMO, Denmark will walk this. Strong all the way through whereas most teams don't have it all the way down to the bottom riders. Sweden don't look bad, neither do Poland.. USA is a bit odd I don't think Finland look strong at all, or Russia, Australia will be challenging. Don't entirely agree with the GB team myself but would fancy us to at least make the race-off. Come on you Brits!
  11. Not a bad side, I think I'd have put Olly Allen in myself and Kennett at reserve and then swapped them round if we get into the race off or final.. and then left out one of Stead and Richardson but Middlo's got the right idea IMO.
  12. Oh bless him! Get on with it Nicki, you didn't make the final, deal with it like everyone else has to The banner "Taxi for Pedersen" was great btw.
  13. What a meeting. Chris "Bomber" Harris.. what a guy. True racer and a really likeable rider aswell, rode his heart out and a little interview in yesterday's Mirror was right where he said something like "I won't give up until I've passed that checkered flag". Well he certainly didn't. Deserved that 100%. Makes me proud to be British. To credit the other 2 riders on the podium aswell, I was well impressed with how Hancock and Crumpy congratulated Bomber after the race and on the podium, that was fantastic to watch. Also, don't know if there's a topic for these or not, and sorry to move this post away from Bomber, but well done to the other 2 British riders last night. They didn't disgrace themselves, and I haven't seen Nicholls ride like that for a long time. British GP winner, Chris Harris. I noticed the presenters say some of his moves were similar to Loram's a lot.. and I'll tell you what, I honestly reckon Bomber will be the next British man to do what Loram did back in 2000.
  14. This is a good one, sounds like it's going to fetch in plenty for a good cause too. Nice 1 Hans and team
  15. The Hans/AJ incident... not implying Hans is a dirty rider or anything like that but I'm sure he's done a similar thing in the past and if the boot was on the other foot he'd be whining to the ref or AJ or whoever would listen to him if the race was stopped! Bomber and Scott weren't great, although Harris was a bit unlucky. Nicholls needs to start scoring points quickly if he wants another chance next season but I suppose with Harris in his debut season, all this is part of the learning curve he's on in the GPs.
  16. Awful news. One injury like this is bad enough but so many in a season. Nothing can be said, just best wishes to his family and friends, terrible
  17. Either way, it'd show what kind of rider he really is I suppose.
  18. Certainly does, pleased with that side.. hopefully can prove there will be some good British talent coming through in the next few years.
  19. Fantastic ride to take Andersen for the win. Well deserved. Have to question how Millard described the victory though.. something along the lines of "Leigh Adams, always the bridesmaid, but tonight is the bride".
  20. Came from absolutely nowhere to get into second, then starts pushing Andersen and was away! Brilliant
  21. Does he want to race over here or is it a case of nobody having a particular interest in having him over? Don't like the idea of some foreign riders taking the mickey out of British Speedway but if he could commit to a British club, it could only be good for the EL?
  22. I agree, but carry on like he is doing and he will not be in the series next year, or he shouldn't be anyway, because he certainly will not qualify on merit.
