  1. How about fluttering your eyelashes and see if you can get seven of them to put on the old leathers and throw their leg over a bike again Shazz. If you could do the same at the Hackney re-union we could have an ex Crusaders v ex Hawks match at Sittingbourne later in the year. Probably sounds far fetched, but I bet the guys would love it and I'd be willing to bet it would be the biggest crowd at Old Ferry Lane ever! Give it some thought mate - if anyone can do it, you can.
  2. Oh yeah, of course. Not suprised Les' lad had that expression after seeing his pic in Backtrack recently.
  3. Who you on about Shazz? Barney and Les used to have the flowing locks didn't they?
  4. Do you know what, I think you might just be right there.
  5. Thanks for the info Tom - were the riders names drawn out of a hat do you know?
  6. Yep, you've got it Jo - that's a good teacher you've got there.
  7. I can't answer that one, but I do know that Peter Collins had both his throttle and clutch lever on the same side to allow him to ride with a wrist/arm injury in the '70's.
  8. Sorry Shazz, you'll have to give me a course on social etiquette.
  9. You didn't answer the question Addy, are you practising to be a politician?
  10. Well yes, but I've always liked you anyway.
  11. So how old are you Addy?
  12. I've always liked you Gem.
  13. Me too - that's the biggest regret of my speedway life, not going to that meeting!
  14. Almost the perfect day TT, but two out of three ain't bad.
  15. There were five England v Australasia Test Matches in 1958, at Swindon, Oxford, Coventry, Belle Vue and Southampton. I can find no reference to a further meeting at Poole - do you have the teams and/or year correct?
  16. If Steve could make it over here for the meeting, that would be awesome Does anyone know what Mike Ferreira's doing nowadays?
  17. It's about time you released that news Shazz. Should be a great day out anyway, but any chance of talking Uncle Ted and Barney into having a couple of match races?
  18. 1976-77 ish....... Intercontinental Final or similar......... John Davis and Dave Jessup trying to team-ride and keep Peter Collins in third place, but PC split the pair of them in the fairest and best manouvre I can remember - that's the clearest memory I've got of White City. Others include watching the riders appear from the tunnel under the centre green, the gap of about 6" between the stadium wall and the M40 fly-over, Bruce Penhall's British debut, the original Grand Prix Final, the echos and the street parking (happy days).
  19. I'd have thought the odds will be stacked in favour of Team GB being drawn/seeded to the Swindon meeting and Sweden to the Eskilstuna meeting.
  20. I'm sure the answer to this question is negative, but is there any way these Polish channels can be viewed using (and not realigning) a Sky satellite system?
  21. Well i havent heard anything about it before i read that report.. is it a new thing thats happening this year or have i missed something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes Matt, it's a brand new competition. GB weren't originally entered, but thankfully the BSPA had second thoughts and we are now in it (in the qualifier at Abensberg as Lucky Star has pointed out).
