Belle Vue. The Aces are very vulnerable at home for the first couple of months so it a tricky one to call. Having said that if they miss the gate they have the opportunity to pass and man for man they should have the beating of the robins even on a neutral venue. Whatever the outcome it's just great to finally see The Aces take to the track at the NSS and there are plenty of entertainers on both sides to provide a spectacular evening.

I think the conversation went more like this. Can we sign Cook? No. Why? Both teams ride on the same night. But you've allowed it already where one rider is signed for clubs running on the same night. Errrrr, putting that to one side we're sticking with our decision. You know The Aces only ride a small percentage of their fixtures on Fridays and we run quite a few Sunday's. Doesn't matter you're both Friday tracks. How about if the situation remains the same but I say we run on Sunday? Errrrrrr. Then it's not the same race night then is it? Errrrrr. 'Cause that was the issue wasn't it? Errrrrrrr. I think we're done here. Get me Cook on the 'phone.

Why is Bech always shown as d/u on the bspa team sheets?

Very good Sky match. Beautiful move from Feddie in heat 14.

Over 750 tickets were sold online by early afternoon so add in the pay on arrival folk, I'd say there was over 1000 maybe 1200.

Wow, nothing gets past your two journalist mates. I'm not sure how they can look at each other knowingly when they know nothing. Woodward & Bernstein they are not.

Fact alert! The Aces ride the vast majority of their fixtures on day's other than Friday. Arron Summers was recently allowed to double up as both an Elite & Premier heatleader. Their is at least one other rider included in teams with the same race night. Cook rides for Belle Vue. Porsing is on loan.

I'm guessing this is the beginning of the end for Chapman. It's been a truly terrible rein as chairman. Whereas before there was a kind of benign incompetence Chapman has been able to squeeze in a full years worth of poor decisions into just two months. Missing out on loan payments for the Dane was bad enough but the potential of The Aces benefiting was too much to take and led to this shocking outcome. I feel for young Craig I really do. Keith Chapman you are an utter disgrace.

If you use the A34 is 35 miles and I reckon if you measure "as the crow flies" it's just below 30. I think it's just clubs fighting over the diehards who follow speedway these days.

Lakeside V Belle Vue - 4 May - Sky Match
ouch replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bad day at the office for The Aces together with some bad luck. They need to knock these poor starts to meetings as we are then on the back foot early doors and that can set a tone for the meeting. The racing was ok for Lakeside and I think people's perception were skewed due to the early delays. We keep getting fans and riders saying the track isn't normal when Sky are in town and generally Sky matches are very poor in terms of entertaining racing. I've never seen a good Sky match from Wolves even with their award laden track. Something needs to be done about Sky's involvement with track prep as essentially this is our weekly two hour advert and it needs to look good. -
Must admit I'm one of the strange ones who would rather watch a lad bust a gut to score 4 than watch a "star" score 7. Over the last decade we've had loads of journey men going though the motions and it does my head in. I take your point about winning but another quirk with me is I'm happy to see us lose if the match has been great but feel short changed if the meeting is dull irrespective of the final result. I can't defend those opinions, it just is. I'm also a big MPT fan.

Belle Vue Vs King's Lynn May 2nd
ouch replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Three league matches as I don't think today's would have made it. We lost seven league matches to the elements last year and we currently stand at four this year. I'm hopeful we can beat last years sorry total and though they wouldn't have saved today's meeting the track covers should save some over the rest of the season. All in all I'm happy to be at NSS rather than a dog bowl. -

Stock cars next door at four. Council don't want traffic chaos so asked what we start early. -
Belle Vue have an online shop. You can also buy and print off tickets on. Belle Vue have a massive online presence. They publish just on average more than one story per day on their main website but put out more than that on Twitter & Facebook. I liked the shop display Poole have sorted locally. Belle Vue for years had a similar display in a shop window near Piccadilly in the centre of Manchester. It's a great bit of PR.
