  1. Luke Becker anyone? Looks an entertainer:-)
  2. My view on the Woffy situation has changed alot over the years. When he rode for Wolves in 2009 - he was breath of fresh air into our team. He looked the real team player. His SGP success was amazing - I remember reading hit fitness routine prior to the 2013 season and thinking 'ya no what, hes gonna do alright'. The season of 2014 when Freddie and Tai both didn't want to race in the UK (as they could see what Greg and Nicki were doing without it) kinda changed it all though. Tai reluctantly did ride in 2014 but wasn't the same. He rode for Wolves with some bad injuries this year. He was never 100% comfortable at Monmore but still had some great races. I put this down to the fact he was riding with so many injuries and the lack of experience in the team at the time (no PK or Fred). Plus the pressure of being WC. Then his decision to not race in the UK over Poland & Sweden was for me - at the time - a smart choice. However, since then I've seen less and less of Tai riding and I now just see him as another rider that used the GB tracks to hone his skills but now does not need us/them. I can't say he was wrong to do this but from a fan point of view - it is disappointing. Then his decision to not race in the British final and now the SWC. I honestly cannot understand the logic of this from the BSPA POV. Surely he adds to the potential revenue of these meetings. Give him Wild card into the British final, or at least make his Semi on a non-GP weekend??? The only part of me that disagrees with this logic however; is I do think we should be supporting riders that are loyal to the British leagues - and whilst we have 5-6 riders that are capable of competing in the top league (which Harris, Lambert, Cook, S Worrall and Ellis) with a few others close behind are - we should be giving them the SWC places. That said - if Tai was willing to ride for GB then one would have to make way. Maybe his departure from the SWC scene will enable these newer riders the chance - a bit like Greg not riding for the USA - it forces a newer members to step up. Anyhow - Tai's views on twitter show he does care otherwise he wouldn't respond as he does. It would be interesting to know the full details (not in a twitter post) but in a detailed press release) why he doesn't want to race in the GB team this year.
  3. R/R allowed Swindon to use their inform reserves. So whilst their guests werent as strong as the riders they replaced, they did enough. That being said - we were just not at our best for whatever reason. King didnt perform as expected. Masters looked sloooow. Dany Gappimier has to sit out 7 days of racing as his illness was non speedway related. Id imagine Wolves will be making a protest if he does ride.
  4. This was refering to Dany Gappmaier. If the rules are followed - he cant race for 7 days
  5. For all their talk and spiteful comments, FF and R72 are happy to critise a person who they know whilst he has no clue who they are. Yes steve doesnt help himself with his constant replying but if his name is being used so distatfully then he has a right to reply. I was 14 years old when i joined this forumm. Back then it was a bit fun. I would not have been able to comprehend this level of point scoring and sarcastic responses.
  6. Difficult one. If 3.51 is his average - he would be one hell of signing for anyone. Unforunately , I cant see the BSPA allowing it.
  7. Back to the meeting... The last time the Lions came they should have drew but since then Wolves have stepped up a gear. Fred will no doubt want to be in the points straight away but Nilsson is proving to be a good signing so wont be an easy one. 50-43 is my prediction. Mon the Wolves!
  8. This meeting will be the 4h 4a for all teams I believe so it needs to go ahead so teams can make their changes.
  9. Stoney. Class rider! He was a fans a rider .Surprised hes not more involved in the sport.
  10. Still a fixture that we want to win! Guest for Rory and R/R for Fred may be more beneficial if allowed.
  11. Its pretty cool & damp. Heading to Wolves for a few bank holiday drinks - keeping an eye on the weather. Shame theres no Fred for this fixture but no excuses this is the team we have tonight. Jacob & Sam to step it up a notch!
  12. Just glad that Magic, Matej & Bartosz managed to walk away. The GP rounds this year are going to be as much a battle of attrition as well skill & set ups; due to the standard of riders. Rest up Fred.
  13. It was a strange ending as we expected Fred and Jacob to ride and try and split Morris & Doyle. Track was very fast, so fast that Fred managed to hurt himself when he & Morris had a battle in Heat 13. He sort of dragged his leg back as he went into the last corner. He didnt appear on the parade. Hope its precautionary.
  14. Oh yes - the last 4 home meetings, freddie has wobbled around the track to achieve max after max or the 3 British Champs Tai has managed to win. Now if you said there is a lot of skill and set up required which may throw away or even GP riders off - id agree. We have meetings with no crashes or incidents. Then we have some with loads of crashes but would put that down to inexperience or a heavy a downpour prior to the meeting. Be interesting to hear from riders and whether they agree with your opinion.
  15. Which GP rider/s? Must have missed those meetings.
  16. You can have a guest for a double upper riding for his other team & number 1. Who else is missing?
  17. Judging from his email, his attitude can read as arrogant but in reality he is willing to do more than just worry about himself. Something the BSPA have not excelled in. My message to those in charge - see past his image and just listen to his ideas. We need him and it can work. Time to put the fans first!!!
  18. Hate to see teams beaten out of sight at home so I do hope the team changes for Leicester improve them. Well done to Maximum men Fred, Jacob & Rory. They have found another gear this season.
  19. Well the way our team is riding atm a win is more than possible. Hope the rain stays away and theres a decent turn out!
  20. Can someone put the youtube link up? So happy for Freddie.
  21. Tbh I cant recall any of the Somerset riders at Monmore. That maybe more down to my bad memory than their performances. Sure they wil put up a fight. Hope Greaves form continues and we see some good racing.
  22. Loking at the updates- there was lots of passing. Great win for Wolves - well done Ellis,Robert & Ritchie!!!
