  1. M Riss 4.69 A Morris 4.06 (converted) M Williamson 4.04 (converted) J Pickering 3.85 (converted) D Ayres 2.74 N Greaves 2.54 Mark showed he had a lot of style and promise particually away. Would be good to see him retained. Greaves had a massive year and looked really good towards the end of the year. The only concern would be whether he has the funds to make the next step up. Would Danny Ayres be a better move? Matt Williamson and Ashley Morris are both Wolves assests. Shame their averages put them just over being able to both fit at reserve. Josh Pickering is a decent signing on that average. Coped well for Edinburgh last year. Maybe one to watch. One of Sam's friends.
  2. Kurtz had an OK season considering he carried the Poole team. Morris was very good last year but do you think he would have averaged as much as number 1 rather than number 5? Imo there about the same to me. 2018 will be a big year for both at number 1 from the start.
  3. Apparently Schlien was meant to sign at thestart of the year but due to the BV situation was not allowed to be signed until they had their team. Then Coventry didn't run and Bjerre who had signed for the bees given the nod so Schlien was left out at the start.
  4. CVS seems to be really upset by the Freddie/Jacob situation. I hope his concerns have been felt by the rest of the league. I wouldn't be against any decision. Will support whoever is given the nod.
  5. Anyone know who we've loaned Kyle from? Very unusual for Wolves to own so few riders. Maybe they have decided to accept paying loan fees due to the constant rule changes which makes using your assets harder.
  6. Disagre. Morris would walk in to Rye House or Somersets team.
  7. I could see Jacob at Lynn. He's a real racer and loves grip. But maybe he will give the UK a miss if he is coming back from injury and isnt at his home team...
  8. I think it's a shame that Morris and Thorsell are going to be pushed out of their teams plans. Surely if a rider over 8pas has ridden for a team for say; 3 years straight that they get half a point taken off. How else do you keep top riders from leaving these shores? Will seriously effect both teams attendances as they are real entertainers too. I think it's a shame that Morris and Thorsell are going to be pushed out of their teams plans. 9. Congrats to the Robins and their fans. They have been good at Wolves on all 3 occasions so no real surprise they had the edge without out top 2. Unfortunately for us - we just ran out of race winners. Main positive on the evening was that Nathan Greaves really stepped up and will hopefully be back for a 2nd season, and Rory Schlien proved what a great captain he is. Thank you so much RooBoy! Kyle and Sam, not a lot more they could have done. The KOC awaits - I know we have Bomber as our guest on friday - but will they try someone new against BV. Nick Morris wouldn't be too bad Lets just hope Freddie and Jacob are fit come March/April...and we do it all again!!
  10. Wow - how the heck did that happen? After last Monday and then Wednesday against BV - I honestly thought we were done for, and obviously totally gutted to see my personal favorite rider in Freddie seriously hurt and Jacob who has become such an entertainer home and away this year - with his improvement going largely unnoticed but thats not always a bad thing. Step up Rory Schlein, Kyle Howarth and Sam Masters. Wow! All three have been impressive this year so maybe we were harsh to think this was beyond us. I guess you just don't expect this to happen. I've visited Swindon many times over the years and seen some decent performances and some total whitewashes but this just shows anything is possible! Chris Harris- the sort of rider you want riding for you in a play off meeting. Mark and Nathan - did their job. Come on Wolves - lets do this for Jacob and Fast Freddie who have literally been unstoppable this year at Monmore. Its not over yet and I hope theres a decent meeting for the neutrals to watch on Wednesday - we need to keep our cool.
  11. The track has no part to play in those crashes. Howarth tried to go round Andersen and he hit his back wheel. Greaves and Shanes both riding mid track into the 2nd bend..someone was always going to fall off if the rider on the outside then turns in as the rider on the inside is still going straight.
  12. I guess you are correct about the abuse KL got. Personally I didnt mind it; other than the fact it often favoured gate 4 and we used to go there at midday when it was too dusty. We used to appreciate the grassy knowl
  13. Oh I see your now apart of the FF abuse squad. In the words of a well known football manager 'I'd love it if we beat you!' Sounds like a lot of Belle vue fans would be happy if Wolves closed down. What charming fans?! P.S I'm sure the ones on here are only a minority in that respect but seemed like everyone tars wolves fans as all the same. I would never cheer a rider falling off. Infact; when Tungate went down a lot of wolves fans around me went 'not again!' rather than cheered because we weren't going to make the pub! The then seriousness of Jacobs injury then made people react when the white light exclusion came on.
  14. Jacob was riding full of confidence and loved the monmore track. Its a real blow for us. Probably wins it for Swindon if we make it through. No malice involved just two riders coming together and there not being enough time to react. As for the other crashes and incidents... Seemed to be on bend 4 on the middle. I think its fair to say we have seen way more serious crashes this year particually on this bend. Howarths crash appeared to be caused by a mistimed move. Charles Wright was hit side on by Mark Riss who appeared to just not turn or had too much speeed. Now Tungate fell off infront on bend 4 under no pressure...rut? Or too much speed? Cooks falls were almost Tai-esque. Too much speed and riding too wide. Bewley rode defensively and that caused him to lock up. Greaves didnt predict it in time. Non of the crashes to me looked like track problems but maybe the wet made it harder for certain riders. Plenty of passing from Fred & JT to keep it interesting. Howarth riding out of his skin. Greaves never knows when to settle for 3rd. Rooboy was as smooth as you like. Only concern was Sam who cannot mix it atm. Now I know Im biased as Im a Wolves fan BUT i find it hard to stomach all this negatively which has stemmed from a certain BV fan. There is absoutley nothing Wolves can do about the track shape. There has never been public critisim of the track from riders.
  15. Will theyshow one meeting live and then show the other meeting during delays? Guess its hard to judge but better than keeping all the fans on the terraces waiting in the cold.
  16. Feel for Jacob...in the last 7 days he has gone from Manchester to Poland back to Manchester to Sweden to Somerset to Sweden (GP) He even tried to come back to Wolves inbetween Sweden & Somerset but that would have meant another trip back to Sweden. If only time machines existed!!
  17. Some riders are slow burners. Jack Holder will be a heatleader in 2-3 years time. Maybe riding in a struggling team hasnt helped.
  18. Heart really wants Fred to do it. But head says Doyle, with Tai in 2nd and Dudek 3rd.
  19. Tough meeting lastnight. The Aces were always in the meeting and gave a good account of themselves. Not sure Masters was fit to ride but maybe they wanted to risk him to avoid lots of extra rides for the others as you can tell it took its toll on Greaves and Perks over the last few weeks. Lots of decent races but didn't enjoy it as much as other meetings due to the fact that it felt a bit rushed and cramped. Greaves and Smith have been thrown in at the deep end with their bikes taking a beating with falls. Definitely think 2018 needs to be planned with as few R/R/ and Double headers as possible.
  20. I think what makes the SGP series so exciting this year is that none of the top riders are consistently better than the rest out of the gate. End of the day, you want to gate and win the race. Not sure riders get the same thrill from passing as us fans!
  21. The track imo looked really good with some decent racing. There was passing in most heats in the first meeting. The incident with THJ looked to me like a rider error. Greaves always locks up so nothing to do with the track. Jacob rode really well and the way he and Rory rode their races together was pretty impressive. Mark Riss had a very good comeback. Thank god for Josh Auty for giving the home fans someone to cheer on. Still tired. How these riders do it day in day out for months - salute them!
  22. Nothing much has been said over this. Think the BSPA need to stop giving facilities for riders riding in Poland over their original fixtures. May hurt my team more but rather we employed British based riders if thats the case.
  23. Shanes was out of control (hanging off the bike) and turning in. Not sure what Greaves could do to avoid hitting him. As it goes, Poole gained from that decision as we were on a 4-2 with Starke out of the race. In the re run he won it comfortably. That race win for Max could have been all the difference for him confidence wise.
  24. Such a big crash which if im quiet honest was the worst ive ever seen live. Anyone have any more updates on Kyle? Just want to say thank you to the paramedics who reacted so professionally. They all are heroes! GWS Kyle. Hes been a great rider to have in the team the last two years but take the docs advise and do whats best for you.
  25. Luke has shown he can ride the bigger tracks.
