The second round of the 250cc Youth Gold Trophy was held yesterday on the Czech track Plzen. After the first round in Gorican on april 8 it was clear that the championship would end with a exciting end with both Michael Hartel (Germany) and Eduard Krcmar (CZ) ending on 15 points (quite dodgy format). Hartel scored another 15 point maximum in Plzen and became the 2012 champion with 30 points in total. Eduard Krcmar crashed out in his third race, but won his other fout heats. This was more then enough to secure the second place with 27 points. The third (and fourth) place in the championship went suprisingly to France with Dmitri Berge ending on 20 points and Jordan Dubernard on 18 points. Great Britain was only represented with one rider. Nathan Greaves came 8th in Gorican but he didn't race in Plzen. It's a shame that he was the only GB rider, by the looks of it there are quite a few British 250cc riders. Think it gotta do something with the money part as the riders won't be paid in these meetings. Overall standings: 1. Michael Hartel GER 30 2. Eduard Krcmar CZ 27 3. Dimitri Berge FRA 20 4. Michal Prucha CZ 18 5. Jordan Dubernard FRA 18 6. Philipp Schmuttermayer GER 17 7. Michaela Krupickova CZ 14 8. Onno Rykena GER 13 9. Giorgio Trentin ITA 12 10. Daniel Spiller GER 11 11. I just got back aswell after a long drive back to NL. Awesome weekend in Croatia, already looking forward to the challenge in September. Just a tip for the people that will attend the challenge; on the day after (sunday) there will be a big meeting in Mureck (Austria), only 90 minutes from Gorican. They will stage the 4th (and last) final of the 2012 European Championship.

Any info on the logistic part of these meetings in Vladivostok? The riders will just fly I suppose, but what about the gear? As this track is at the east side of China and the rest are all in western Russia.

The 2013 provisional FIM calendar has been released today. See: http://www.fim-live.com/fileadmin/alfresco/FIM_Track_Racing_Commission_-_2013_Calendars_-_July.pdf So by the looks of it they have trimmed down the events a bit and they have finally got rid of the scandinavian round in the U21 series. Another interesting change is that the Longtrack Teams event will be held for the first time in the UK, to be precise; 4th of August in Swingfield.

Very impressed my Appe Mustonen last night at Groningen, he came second at the Longtrack GP. Apperently a switch of tuner (now Robert Barth) and 3 weeks holiday turned his chances in the World Championship.

European U21 Semi 3 Holsted 07.07.2012
DutchGrasstrack replied to iris123's topic in International World of Speedway
There won't be a rider for Belgium, that's for sure. Wim Kennis is the only Belgian U21 rider and he's currently out with a wrist injusty plus he has turned this focus to MX sidecarracing instead of speedway. -
Yeah that was a big shame, but even more for the club as this rain-off cost them alot of money hope the sun will be out at their Golden Helmet meeting!

The meeting got rained off sadly .

Gorzow Gp Saturday 23rd June
DutchGrasstrack replied to iris123's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just a tip if you're going to Gorzow on saturday, there will be a mini-speedway event (80cc, 125cc) at Wawrow which is about a 10 minute drive from the Gorzow stadium. The meeting starts at 11.30. -
Many thanks for the calendar, I'm hoping to visit one of the meetings in August/September. What time do these meetings start?
