  1. Well I'm a bit late with the speedway news from The Netherlands this year. Anyway, the first round of the Dutch championship was held on sunday 13 may in Lelystad. Results: A group: 1. Jannick de Jong (3,3,3,3) 12 2. Henry van der Steen (3,2,3,2) 10 3. Pascal Swart (1,3,3,3) 10 4. Nick Lourens (2,2,2,2) 8 ---- 5. Randy Oldenziel (3,2,1,2) 8 6. Jeffrey Woortman (2,1,2,3) 8 ---- 7. Raymon Woortman (2,1,2,1) 6 8. Lars Zandvliet (1,3,0,X) 4 9. Erik Eijbergen (1,1,0,1) 3 10. Henkie Koonstra (0,0,1,1) 2 11. Sjoerd Rozenberg (0,0,1,X) 1 12. Robert-Jan Bangma (0,0,0,0) 0 B group: 1. Andy ter Schuur (2,3,3,2) 10 2. Mark Beishuizen (3,3,3,3) 12 3. Maurin Vochteloo (1,1,2,2) 6 4. Kelly Velda (2,2,X,1) 5 ---- 5. Roelof Postma (0,1,1,1) 3 6. Erwin Werkman (X,0,X,X) 0 The second round was supposed to be held at Veenoord on the 2nd of June. Sadly this meeting got cancelled, not sure why, but I think it has something todo with the lack of riders. Most riders got important grasstrack meetings on the same weekend...
  2. Well the runoff for the first place was kinda strange... Pawlicki hit Worrall and Worrall fell... Pawlicki thought it would be red flag situation and he returned back to the 'paddock gate' but it wasn't so he rode the 4 laps just to complete the runoff. Should have been a restart... Anyway, it was a very good meeting. Never seen such a good meeting in Holland before. Pics: http://baansportfans...in-blijham.html
  3. The news even made one of the Dutch biggest newspapers (with crash photo): http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/12125816/__VIDEO-Fatale_crash_coureur__.html. Not happy with this, normally they never post anything about speedway. Still quite a shock by that pathetic heat 11 with Kasprzak and Jepsen Jensen racing eachother while the Zielona Gora boys already had decided to stop racing.
  4. The Dutch rider can't be Pijper because he is on a French license... not sure if there will be a Dutch rider at Berwick.
  5. What a day! Brilliant weather, massive crowd and overall good racing. Gotta say that it wasn't Emil his fault that he crashed into Nicki. He hit the rut on bend 3 and had nowhere to go... after the crash they also did some work on bend 3 Here are my photo's from today: http://baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/99/hancock-wint-eerste-gp-.html See ya in Leszno!
  6. Photo's from todays official practice: http://baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/98/western-springs-training.html
  7. Glorious day in Auckland! Can't wait for the official practice this afternoon
  8. Best wishes from Guangzhou (China) I'm half way to Auckland now.
  9. Sounds excellent! Can't wait, I'm flying out tomorrow afternoon from Amsterdam
  10. Any info on what time the Waikaraka park meeting starts? The GP practice is at 15.00, so would be nice if the race at Waikaraka park is in the evening .
  11. sounds nice , at least now we can see some motor action in the area after the GP :t:
  12. Yes indeed. Shame though, as Reitsma should have got #16.
  13. Knapp and Hendersson were very good tonight. The crowd went wild when Knapp got second place in the Final, he got passed anyway by Ivanov a lap later, but 3rd is fantastic.
  14. You don't need new covers......... there are guards which are like the 'old' rear guards (but they are just lowered and little different shape) and you can still use your covers.
  15. No issues for the iceracing riders, so what's the problem with the speedway riders? Money?
  16. Why isn't there a meeting on the sunday after the GP? I'm sure it would attract a huge crowd..
  17. Yes; the complete standings can be found here: http://www.speedwaylelystad.nl/new/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=62&Itemid=25 20 points for the winner, 19 for second, 18 for third etc... Heat details are not realy available (only for round 6 I believe) 'Senioren' is the 'A Group' (the best riders) 'Nationalen' is the 'B Group'
  18. 6 rounds, but one (round 4) got called off because of the rain.

  20. Well in 2012 the UEM is going to chance a couple things in their European Championship meetings.... They are cutting down the number of grasstrack meetings, which is a real shame because most grasstrack UEM meetings are getting more spectators then the speedway meetings. So only 2 qualifiers at the Grasstrack Solo en there is only 1 qualifier at the sidecars (6 sidecars are qualified automaticly for the final). The European Speedway championship is changing drasticly. In 2012 there are 3 Semi finals, 1 Challenge meeting and 4 Finals... does anybody know more about this? Last big change is that the age limit for the Juniors is changing to 21 instead of 19.
  21. Why did they reject german championship in Dresden?
