  2. How many meetings do they stage this year? Do you have a calendar?
  3. Yes it was the Grasstrack Youth Gold Trophy, apparently the word 'grasstrack' or 'longtrack' means nothing if you look at the tracks they use in these meetings. It just has to be bigger then a speedway track... The 250cc is going to be held on the same track in Vechta, the bikes they use are just like the 'normal' grasstrack/longtrack bikes but with a smaller engine. The kids on the 125cc bikes usually use their same bike(s) on speedway or grasstrack/longtrack tracks. They don't use brakes. Please see the link below for a report plus pics from the 125cc meeting at Vechta: http://baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/134/veel-talent-voor-de-toekomst.html

  10. Mathias Thörnblom isn't in Terenzano, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen is replacing him.
  11. For live updates from Sankt Johann see the following link: http://www.speedway-forum.de/board51-live-updates/board53-live-aus-dem-ausland/6993-live-update-von-gp-quali-in-st-johann/#post104418
  12. Well the surface is speedway-ish, but it called a longtrack indeed, the track is about 550 meters long. The trees have been removed a couple years ago I believe, no sign of trees anymore on Google Earth.
  13. Two riders will represent Great Britain in this years 125cc Youth Gold Throphy (ie World Championship) which will be held in Vechta (Germany) next saturday on the 8th of June. This meeting also features riders from Germany, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, France and surprisingly Poland got also a place. Last year Dutch rider Romano Hummel won the meeting which was held in Saint Macaire (France). Jack Cornes was the best Brit with a 13th place. 1. Sandro Wassermann (GER) 2. Patrik Mikel (CZ) 3. Buddy Prijs (NL) 4. Jordan Dubernard (FRA) 5. Michaela Krupičková (CZ) 6. Jack Cornes (GB) 7. Gaétan Stella (FRA) 8. Richard Geyer (GER) 9. Romano Hummel (NL) 10. Enzo Dubernard (FRA) 11. Roman Mády (CZ) 12. Dave Meijerink (NL) 13. Lukas Fienhage (GER) 14. Darrel de Vries (NL) 15. Michal Škurla (CZ) 16. Baptiste Comblon (FRA) 17. tba (PL) 18. Zach Wajtknecht (GB) -- 21. Fabian Wachs (GER) 22. Nils Oliver Wessel (GER)
  14. The Veenoord meeting was indeed cancelled due to lack of riders. Strangly this is because there are some important FIM/UEM grasstrack meetings on the same weekend, so infact they could know this months ago. Anyway; the next round of the Dutch championship will be held on the 15th of July at Lelystad.
  15. Well I'm a bit late with the speedway news from The Netherlands this year. Anyway, the first round of the Dutch championship was held on sunday 13 may in Lelystad. Results: A group: 1. Jannick de Jong (3,3,3,3) 12 2. Henry van der Steen (3,2,3,2) 10 3. Pascal Swart (1,3,3,3) 10 4. Nick Lourens (2,2,2,2) 8 ---- 5. Randy Oldenziel (3,2,1,2) 8 6. Jeffrey Woortman (2,1,2,3) 8 ---- 7. Raymon Woortman (2,1,2,1) 6 8. Lars Zandvliet (1,3,0,X) 4 9. Erik Eijbergen (1,1,0,1) 3 10. Henkie Koonstra (0,0,1,1) 2 11. Sjoerd Rozenberg (0,0,1,X) 1 12. Robert-Jan Bangma (0,0,0,0) 0 B group: 1. Andy ter Schuur (2,3,3,2) 10 2. Mark Beishuizen (3,3,3,3) 12 3. Maurin Vochteloo (1,1,2,2) 6 4. Kelly Velda (2,2,X,1) 5 ---- 5. Roelof Postma (0,1,1,1) 3 6. Erwin Werkman (X,0,X,X) 0 The second round was supposed to be held at Veenoord on the 2nd of June. Sadly this meeting got cancelled, not sure why, but I think it has something todo with the lack of riders. Most riders got important grasstrack meetings on the same weekend...
  16. Well the runoff for the first place was kinda strange... Pawlicki hit Worrall and Worrall fell... Pawlicki thought it would be red flag situation and he returned back to the 'paddock gate' but it wasn't so he rode the 4 laps just to complete the runoff. Should have been a restart... Anyway, it was a very good meeting. Never seen such a good meeting in Holland before. Pics: http://baansportfans...in-blijham.html
  17. The news even made one of the Dutch biggest newspapers (with crash photo): http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/12125816/__VIDEO-Fatale_crash_coureur__.html. Not happy with this, normally they never post anything about speedway. Still quite a shock by that pathetic heat 11 with Kasprzak and Jepsen Jensen racing eachother while the Zielona Gora boys already had decided to stop racing.
  18. The Dutch rider can't be Pijper because he is on a French license... not sure if there will be a Dutch rider at Berwick.
  19. What a day! Brilliant weather, massive crowd and overall good racing. Gotta say that it wasn't Emil his fault that he crashed into Nicki. He hit the rut on bend 3 and had nowhere to go... after the crash they also did some work on bend 3 Here are my photo's from today: http://baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/99/hancock-wint-eerste-gp-.html See ya in Leszno!
  20. Photo's from todays official practice: http://baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/98/western-springs-training.html
  21. Glorious day in Auckland! Can't wait for the official practice this afternoon
  22. Best wishes from Guangzhou (China) I'm half way to Auckland now.
