There is a beautiful photo of the Brisbane Exhibition Ground Speedway (EKKA) on the back cover of this week's (w/e Nov 20) Speedway Star. What a great and historic venue for our sport. -
Yes, Noah Moss is half Danish and half Korean. Thomas Sörensen was half Danish and half Sri Lankan. ... and that young German lad You mentioned is Mario Häusl (see picture below), whose father is from Munich and his mother from the Seychelles. He is even sporting the national flag of the Seychelles on his kevlars. He must be the first speedway riders ever to emerge form these Indian Ocean islands.

Long Track does not get such big crowds here in Germany anymore. With one or two exceptions attendance figures are less than for the big speedway meetings. You are spot on with Poland. They price their league meetings low and affordable for youths and families to attend, which has a very positive effect on crowd figures, which attracts sponsors, tv etc. Riders are "stars" or at least familiar names with the public because they are omni-present on Polish TV and other media. And the Polish speedway stadia facilities are of a good quality, which is another important fact .

Polish Division 1 Signings 2022

German riders Tobias Busch, Valentin Grobauer, and Marius Hillebrand remain as seniors with Landshut. Landshut have signed 18-year-old Erik Bachhuber as their second under-21 rider (behind Norick Bloedorn), and have retained Mario Niedermaier as a back-up junior rider. -
Lambert AND Bewley should get wildcards - we already have four Poles, so we could (should) have three Brits

Forget the old scoring system, even a fifteen point max for Laguta will mean nothing as long as Zmarzlik also makes the semis, even with only seven or eight points. It now depends on just one race for Laguta, his semi-final. That is the only race that is really important for him. If Laguta finishes first, second, or even only third in his semi-final he is World Champion, but if he fails in this race, Zmarzlik has the chance to make up the nine point deficit with a win in the final. The first twenty heats tonight are only a warm up for the world title contenders, since neither of them will have any problems to qualify for the semi-finals (only eight or nine points needed to do that). They are well adviced not to take any unneccessary risks in the qualifying heats. For them this meeting only really starts with heat 21.

I thought that Heat 21 Sweden vs Denmark last night was a really good and exciting race. The meeting was not a classic, I agree, but it was not that bad either. The Americans (Luke Becker) were exciting to watch, and even the Finns had a couple of good moments. Seems to me that only two riders really struggled with the track conditions, that's Leon Madsen and Pontus Aspgren. Others were riding it really well (Freddie Lindgren was fantastic).
