why is thompson getting a 4th ride? feels like ipswich have thrown in the towel here already. BSN commentators are really polishing a turd with this meeting.

Belle Vue -V- Wolves day/night

it’s how you read it pal. it’s a shame swindon closed down - ironically after they had taken the effort to make the track better for racing. i’m no swindon fan though as i support the club where i’m from, ipswich. my comments were never been anything other than about the speedway and the commentary. both of which made it a poor spectacle in my opinion. my wife was born in wolverhampton and her family are from there so i have no issue whatsoever with the people or wolves fans and hope a new site can be found where a quality circuit can be built. riders will always struggle to adapt and find the set up for monmore as it’s a one off, even on the british circuit. good meeting there are therefore few and far between. -

it’s a poor advert for the sport and means taking airtime away from other tracks where the away team is able to challenge. it’s my nearest premier league track now but after a handful of less than entertaining visits down the years i’ve given up going -

it’s mickey mouse speedway racing. whilst monmore is in existence it means having to put up with it every time it’s televised. riders getting rewarded for poodling round on the inside. hopefully wolves can move to a new track where proper racing is possible. -

not sure what’s worse. thr commentary or the racing -
poor presentation. scott’s analysis should have been in the gaps after ht4,7,11 when the track was being graded. trying to squeeze him inbetween heats gave him no time to prepare. kelvin needs to be told less is more rather than filling every second with meaningless rambles. a camera on bend 1 is essential. chris louis much needed as co commentator but i guess he was at wolves
-
masters jumping the start in ht 13 and wolves kerb crawling their way to victory. need a different bike to ride wolves
-
worst team on the day? sheffield or eurosport
-
bring phil on to save the day
-
what terrible coverage. scott is having a mare as the super analyst. would help if he could share some footage
-
is the track still slick or is it grippy now
-
anyone know what happened in ht 5
-
scott and kelvin keep saying the track is slick but not explaining what it means?
-
camera not capturing the action in ht 3
-
think i prefer the BSN coverage. kelvin is annoying me already
-
should get a better idea of where the wooden spoon is headed after this one

it’s ok Nicky has quit the Panthers if you hadn’t heard. The only rider he fenced this year was himself

I personally don’t think it does a lot for speedway if you are trying to improve its perception as a professional sport. This must come under the remit of improving the product? Sure I understand it’s about entertainment and supporters enjoy it when emotions boil over. At least it shows the riders are committed. In that sense some would have come away from the meeting with their experience of the product enhanced? However, sponsors might think twice about being associated with a sport where physically attacking a fellow competitor appears to be just part and parcel of the spectacle. The BSN camera crew and commentators were also quick to follow the action. Part of me feels they shouldn’t have given it the publicity it got.

https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/scb-statement/ Kerr fined and warned of future conduct.
-
any news on whether Kerr has been sanctioned for his antics last night? it was amusing (and a bit embarrassing) to watch especially after Phil Morris was preaching about improving the product on BSN. if Kerr doesn’t see a punishment then it diminishes Phil’s credibility in my view.

if Emil and Jason stay fit I can see Ipswich winning the league. That and at least one strong r3serve ;-)

haha what a joke. as if the belle vue team isn’t strong enough already. -
the witches are tracking an out of sorts reserve pairing so are unlikely to be able to command a big lead for the 2nd leg. as others have alluded to, the condition of the belle vue track will likely determine the odds of either side progressing with the witches likely favouring damp or cooler conditions. a warm up is forecast for next week but whether that gets as far as manchester who knows…
