The Global Superstar is ditching his Swedish club for a month in a desperate bid to get his flagging Grand Prix career back on track, according to his diary on the Sky Sports site: I have taken the decision to give Sweden a rest for a month, after the Grand Prix, I had a chat with a few people and on reflection I need to make some changes. It has become a bit too much, and I'm not enjoying the racing as much as I should be. Things haven't been quite right and I need to take a step back with a view to getting the Grand Prix right. It is very important to me. It is a big, big move for me, it is something that I have never done before in my career. I feel terrible about letting my club down, but I think that it is something that I have to do to benefit my career. I have two more Grand Prix this month and I need to get things right. I do try. I don't always succeed, but I do try. And as Mark Loram always used to say, God loves a trier.

You probably couldn't see the bananas, Ghostwalker. I gather they were the real hazard.

Live Polish Speedway On The Internet
Subedei replied to Blazeaway's topic in International World of Speedway
No, looks like I was wrong. If those are the rules in Poland then naturally 6+1 is correct. -
It is interesting that most GPs are generally poor for racing, yet the SWC usually supplies excellent racing.

I hate to be a pedant, Lawrence, but it looks to me as if the rider scorechart is wrong. Shouldn't Billy Forsberg have a bonus point from Ht 2 making his scorecard: 15..B Forsberg..1',3,0,2',0 = 6+2 Some remarkable racing again. I think my favourite is the race between Jonas Davidsson and Magnus Zetterstrom in Ht 11. Superb. -

Rider Gate Draw For Gps

The meeting format is constant. What changes are the rider positions. For example, No 1 always has the same gate positions throughout the meeting, but so far this year Rune Holta (Krsko), Bjarne Pedersen (Leszno), Jason Crump (Gothenburg), Bjarne Pedersen (Copenhagen), Leigh Adams (Cardiff) and Chris Harris (Prague) have drawn No 1. -

But for the global superstar and his sidekick Harris there are huge risks in taking on the qualifiers? What if they don't make it through? As things stand, they can claim that seeing as they're the titans of British speedway they could've qualified, if they'd wanted, but being the kind and generous souls they are, they allow mere lesser mortals to have a chance. Well, it's easier than facing the truth.
-
I bet Kelvin Tatum MBE wishes he'd been in the commentary box instead of associated with another pathetic display from the global superstar. Is that one win in thirty-two races for the global superstar this season? Is that sixty-three Grands Prix without winning one?
-
Well, maybe if Kasprzak hadn't had the occasional "walkabout" last season with Lakeside, maybe he'd have found himself a team place in Britain, so there's no real point him moaning about it. Yes, but Iversen won, Dryml was second and BP third. So, if one less qualified, BP would've been the one less.
-
Yes. It would be better to exclude any rider not entering the qualification process from being eligible for a nomination.
-
Like I said, I don't think Jagus is shedding too many tears over missing out - he didn't even bother entering the qualification process this season. He makes a good living in Poland and Sweden (occasional trip to Russia these days, as well). And that seems to be good enough for him.
-
Hampel missed three Grands Prix last season, while Wieslaw Jagus didn't miss any, but was withdrawn after 3 rides at Eskilstuna after being Nicki Ped - he'd won his previous two races and Eskilstuna is his home track in Sweden. But, as it happens, Jagus didn't seem that bothered about missing out on the GPs - he missed a couple of lucrative league meetings due to the Eskilstuna crash. Jagus would rather earn money than pay for the privilege of trying to be world champion. Once last season - in Lonigo - and he finished 4th as a "wild card" in the Polish Grand Prix the year before.
-
You think it could be a case of Cabaret Atlas here we come?
-
Dryml did, Kasprzak didn't.
-
I said 5,000, not 55,000 - I'm not Brian, you know.
-
And my next trick after that would be to feed the 5,000 - probably a whole lot easier to achieve.

Scandinavian Gp Wild Card?
Subedei replied to BelteshazzarBee's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not true. Or are you suggesting that the British Final being used as a selection process for the Cradiff GP is, in truth, a facade? The Swedes nominate and Olsen ratifies. Now, while he'll ride roughshod over the Danish nomination, he won't be quite so cavalier with the Swedes or Poles.
