What Do You Expect On Thursday
Subedei replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It is worth remembering that Poland finished second to Denmark in the SWC event at Vojens last season. And Australia were third. Poland's star performer that night was the semi-weird Walasek and he's riding tonight. That's an awfully polite way of describing someone who thinks unSteady is a world class performer. -

Would I ever ignore one of your posts, dear lady? Of course not. The words of mine that you quoted were a reply to SilverBee, nee SilverCheetah, who changed his name after being told that his support and money wasn't wanted by the then Oxford promoter. Thus, when he stated that he'd always support Great Britain I made an off-the cuff comment, which SilverBee understood and responded to. -
As long as they're six points behind the leader come Ht 10. And, realistically, they'll probably be six points behind everyone by then. Going to be a tough night for the Russians.
-
Yes, except of course that they ought to be permanently six points adrift of the leader after the first five heats, so they'll be able to cover his remaining four rides with the existing riders as tactical substitutes. As for Sajfutdinov, he's on his way to Croatia for the Under-21 semi-final that the FIM have stupidly scheduled for Saturday.

What about if you were told your support wasn't wanted? -

Make a change for them to have someone behind them - mostly they have people in front of them. -

And passing those secrets on to the Poles, Australians and even Adrian Rymel, but not the British boys? -

I remember him being asked whether the £100,000 bonus the Polish riders had just earned through winning the final at Wroclaw in 2005 would cover their engine and tuning costs for the tournament and him replying "probably not". -
G P Pay Rates

Okay, the maximum score is 24, so that would be £6,000. And the minimum score is, well, zero these days, which is £0. -

But you don't realise CheetahJake, in the mind of the global superstar it is the track, or the bike, or the time of the month, or the referee, because he can't ever be at fault. -
He got two, as a replacement for Kennett.

They certainly did. To me. After reading Peter Oakes recent article on Lee Richardson in the Speedway Star, where Oakes stated "a dress rehearsal for 2009 when the final will be at Brandon", I e-mailed Unia Leszno asking them what was going on. Their reply: There is no doubt that SWC race off and final in 2009 are in Leszno. -

Hardly. That was shock and anger. He couldn't believe that the referee didn't realise that he has a God-given right to do whatever he chooses on a speedway track. Didn't the referee realise that he's a global superstar? How could the referee possibly be so stupid as to not realise it was Ljung's fault for getting in his way? And how dare Ljung have the nerve to be in front of him anyway? Ljung should be punished for not realising the status of the global superstar. It's just all so unfair. -

I expect lots of complaining about the track. I expect lots of excuses if Great Britain fail. -
Lynch? Tuners? Bottle?

And between them they've managed two race wins in the GPs this season. I'd question whether either of them is "GP level" - Harris' win last year looks more and more like dumb luck, while the global superstar hasn't won a GP in over sixty attempts. -

Ah grippy tracks. Aren't they the best? Riders shooting off in all directions, while the few able to cope make hay and it's called great racing. Most of the time you have to wait until the track slickens off to see some half-way decent action. -

He was good, last season. And this season, apparently without Brian Andersen's presence? Well, he doesn't seem to amount to much, does he? One heat win in the GPs so far this season. Not very good, is it? -

No, there's practice - it'll be on Wednesday, I think. -

It obviously only counts as proper over-taking when it is being done by British riders. -

Hell's bells, Kenneth Bjerre was over-taking last night, so it can't have been the hardest thing in the world to achieve, can it? Adrian Rymel passed Hans Andersen in a sweet move. There was over-taking. And more often than not it was the hapless riders in the red helmet colour getting over-taken. -

Or a run of inside gates? -
A lot of the Edinburgh fans there are "on tour" - Reading on Sunday, SWC at Brandon yesterday and the Isle of Wight today.
-
The gate positions that the colour brings - blue has always been heavily favoured as a colour under the current format.

Okay, the draw has been made of the all-important race-off in Vojens on Thursday: Red - Great Britain Blue - Sweden White - Poland Yellow - Russia Top draw for the Swedes, but a poor one for the Poles. Taken from: http://www.speedwayworld.tv
