Still, this should've done Stead and Harris no harm at all. In fact I'd expect to see the duo up their performance levels in the Elite League as a result. Why the hell be worried about entering the main body of an Elite League team when you've just ridden in the SWC Final?
-
Okay, but what about the track? I thought it was in good condition, but it does beg a question. According to reports, it was raining heavily for much of the morning Wroclaw and yet after Ht 5 and subsequently they were watering the track quite heavily. Would that've been the case in the UK?

If any team manager was at fault tonight it was the Swedish manager. He waited until Poland had disappeared 13 points in front before he used his Joker. Even allowing for a Swedish heat win and the Pole finishing last, they'd still have been 7 points adrift. As it happened Walasek won and Jonsson finished second.

Afraid not young fellow. Look in your Oxford English Dictionary and you'll find: chose. See choose. So, either is acceptable.
-
What argument old fellow? I haven't been in an argument tonight.
-
I'd hope that Nicholls isn't that petty. It's hardly "sweet revenge". First of all no one can prove Andersen did anything untoward and secondly the Danes were only going for silver, not gold.

I passed first time.

Such a dreadful Americanism. Anyway, there was little chance of Stead going down. The only rider likely to have hit the deck would've been Gollob. And in that case, yes, Gollob should've been excluded as the primary cause of a stoppage.
-
Because the race hasn't settled down until the 3rd-4th turns in my view. However, it does appear that you are correct and that it was entering the 3rd bend. But anyway, as you'll be aware, I believe in racing incidents and if it was entering the 3rd turn it was a racing incident and since no one went down the race shouldn't have been stopped and no one excluded.
-
Ah well, it's repeated on Sky Sports Extra at 11:00pm. It does seems as if I might be in error and I'll verify that during the repeat. Anyway, it remains the case that neither race should've been stopped (apart from the unsatisfactory start in the Gollob-Stead heat) and no one excluded.
-
Think you'll find Gollob-Stead was exiting the 2nd turn, while Jonsson-Stead was exiting the 4th turn. Actually, there were two Gollob-Stead incidents. The 1st was exiting the 2nd turn on lap one, the later one was entering turn 3 as Gollob passed Stead. And the later incident, entering turn 3 was perfectly fair from Stead. He was leading the race, entitled to chose his line, pushed Gollob out wide and Gollob still kept it going and passed him. A super race and full credit to Stead for his efforts.
-
The difference being, of course, that Gollob-Stead was on the 1st and 2nd turns. The Jonsson-Stead incident was later in the race. And anyway, it does make perfect sense, because I said neither should have been an exclusion. Perhaps you missed that bit. So, by my calculation, it makes double-perfect sense. And you can't get much better than that.

Lee Richardson won as many races as the Swedes and Danes combined. As did, of course, Tomasz Gollob.
-
You ask about Nigel Pearson and Kelvin Tatum and the exclusions? Well, I didn't think either warranted an exclusion. In incident one, Gollob was on his outside line and Stead drifted coming out of the corner into his path. Wasn't a hell of a lot Gollob could do about it. He did well to stay on the bike himself. That race should've been stopped for an unsatisfactory start if anything. The second one Jonsson picked up grip and ran across in front of Stead. But Jonsson was in front and entitled to chose his line. Anyway, no one went down in either incident, so why stop the race?

Well, he was in fine form on Tuesday. That's when he made the comment.
-
So, take Holta's 12 points away from the Poles and they still win by 16 points. They didn't just beat the opposition, the annihilated them.
-
He got a 2nd in one of those heats. That's getting away with it. There were 20 riders out there tonight, and only one jumping around at the starts.
-
He's strung together 3 outstanding meetings in a row, so don't count him out just yet. Now he's got a fast engine underneath him, I'd expect him to finish the GP season strongly and with Bydgoszcz steaming up he could win a GP. And then there's next season.
-
And again Lindback gets up to mischief at the starting gate, but gets away with it. It's gone far beyond a joke now.

Lee Richardson

What a super display from Richardson. First class. He won more races than all the Swedes put together. And a super win over aTomek Gollob, altough sometimes you do wonder where Gollob's wandering off to on the first bend. Both big tracks which'll suit the Poles down to the ground. It's tracks like Eastbourne they struggle on. -
That just adds up to 11, you're missing a 3 from the last heat.
-
The team management of the Swedes was woefully inept tonight. As was TR. Only Jonsson and Lindback showed well for the Swedes. And Lindback's antics at the starting gate are way past a joke now.
-
Sadly, trickydicky, they did get less than 30. But they weren't the only German-Czech Republic team tonight. The Danes and Swedes and Team GB all filled that role. The only team in it were the Poles. They won 16 of the 25 races. They only scored 1 less point than they did in the race-off. They were magnificent.

Swc Final Day - Weather

Would make a mess of the Polish fixtures scheduled for Sunday as well. -
Can an old Mongol warrior be the tree? Or has Matt Davis beaten me to it?
