  1. Wonder if she's got the Havana cigars ready for tonight then?
  2. I sense it's going to be loud at Live Updates tonight.
  3. Nicholls rode the Wroclaw track a couple of weeks ago with Tarnow. But, so did Gollob and he was at the practice. I must say I thought Nicholls was flying in on Friday, but perhaps not.
  4. For actual, genuine, photographs of the practice session, try: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.php?dysc...6&news_id=76292
  5. Anyway, Ht 1 tonight should be interesting. TR and Walasek, both unbeaten the last time they rode Wroclaw (TR in the GP and Walasek in the race-off) up against each other. It'll give the Poles a massive boost if Walasek beats TR.
  6. I'm fond of TR. An outstanding rider. But I think you're stretching it a little to call his "elbow" of Hampel "legal". TR should've been out on his ear in that heat.
  7. And I suppose they relied on Leigh Adams to beat Gollob in order to win Event 2 at Eskilstuna? There's no proof that Andersen did anything untoward in last year's final. I suppose it was a pesky Swedish supporter with the mysterious "red light" that only Scott Nicholls saw.
  8. And it's Tomasz or Tomek, not Tomas when referring to the great man Gollob.
  9. Photographs of this meeting can be found at the following: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.php?dysc...6&news_id=76183
  10. Which means, if I'm not much mistaken, that Ht 25 features: Tomasz Gollob Andreas Jonsson Hans Andersen Scott Nicholls Should be good, but a bit of deja vu. And last night's 15 point man Walasek squares up to TR in his opening ride. It'll be mighty impressive if he turns TR over. A bit of a baptism of fire for young Harris, up against aTomek Gollob in his opening ride.
  11. Tony Rickardsson, Leigh Adams and Tomasz Gollob are all around 34-35 years of age. And yet, as the GPs (TR mainly) and SWC have shown they're are far from spent forces. Rickardsson seems to be riding better than he ever has this season, especially in the GPs. Gollob, after a mid-season change from Jawa to GM, still looks as magnificent as ever. Adams, while not having the best of seasons, is still a class act and was superb for Australia in the SWC. So, how many more years do these greats have left in the tank?
  12. And after they've signed him, all they've got to do is get themselves a 387.4 metre track and they're in business. But, as I've said, Walasek was superb last night. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on in the final. Worth remembering that the last time TR was at Wroclaw he walked away with the GP winning all 7 of his heats.
  13. And ZKZ Kitten thought the meeting was boring.
  14. Surely Lindback's got to be the favourite for a tapes exclusion.
  15. Well, I suppose Chrzanowski is a bit of a handful, but Kennett?
  16. The Poles were mighty impressive last night and didn't look to have any weakness in the team. But it'll be tougher come Saturday. Rickardsson will be a huge threat and Andreas Jonsson always performs well in the SWC. PK will be solid, but Lindback and Lindgren could be weaknesses for the Swedes. It's definitely between the Poles and the Swedes. The Danes were pretty hopeless at Swindon and then again last night. They'll have to raise their game massively if they're to mount a challenge. And Team GB? Welcome to the role Germany and the Czech Republic have played in the last two events. If Gollob keeps his current form going, I'd say the Poles will win. If not, those pesky Swedes could make it 3 in a row. But Gollob will be at his best, I know it, and so Poland will win. But, make no mistake, this is a tougher meeting than any of the GPs this season. It should be a classic.
  17. What's wrong with that? The guy is a Pole after all.
  18. As you know, I'm not one for conspiracy theories. And I don't buy this one either. If Hampel was intent on finishing two places behind Rickardsson, why was he in front of him heading into the first bend in the initial running? Could it be that if Hampel had beaten Rickardsson the gap would've been 3 points (assuming Rickardsson finished immediately behind him) and TG could still have taken it to a race-off in Ht 25?
  19. Steve, tell the gnome to push the boat out and get Gollob as No 1.
  20. Might have been a good idea to give this one a miss. It would've been pretty intimidating seeing the Poles so dominant. I'm sure the Swedes will have gone away with plenty to think about.
  21. ZKZ Kitten probably exploded with excitement at the way the Poles were leaving everyone for road kill.
  22. I agree. It was simply a light-hearted comment. I think part of the mystique that surrounds Gollob is that stony face that he puts on and an aversion to being interviewed often. That and the often outrageous moves he pulls on the track.
  23. I'll repeat, Walasek's most difficult opponent of the night was Sophie Blake. Sullivan was pretty gutless after a decent first ride.
