Agreed. There needs to be some form of disciplinary procedure for the grands prix series. Look at last season's grands prix series. Crump excluded for falling on the first bend in Gothenburg, but no action for the kick aimed at Pedersen in the run to the 1st corner. This could end up with a very serious accident, unless real sanctions are introduced, including possible exclusion from the following grand prix.

I assume it was a Swedish broadcaster responsible for the footage. And it looked as if they were angling for a Jonsson reaction during the meeting. It always seemed that in a "quiet" moment, they'd cut to a shot of Jonsson in his pits.

I have some sympathy with Jonsson on this occasion. He shouldn't have swore. But at the same time he shouldn't have had a microphone shoved up his nose at that time.

Ridiculous Gp Gate Positions Balloting!
Subedei replied to 25yearfan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The problem with your idea 2ndbendbeerhut would arise if a rider scored 8 points and qualified for the semi-final, came second in the semi-final and won the final. He'd have 13 points, but a rider scoring a maximum in the 20 heats but an engine failure in the semi-final would have 15 points. Who would the winner of the GP be? -
Then what is wrong with swearing on this forum garf? If you swear, generally, you'll get a warning. Now are you suggesting that people from outside the UK should be allowed to swear on this forum but not Britons?

Good point. Bad point. If Lindback had been rightfully excluded (and replays clearly showed he did touch the tapes first) it would have changed the course of not only that race, but all the following races including riders from that race. Nicholls might have made the semi-finals, but he might not have. We'll never know. Agreed. It was a bit of a desperate effort, but he had nothing to lose. He was 4th in the race and no matter what happened he was still 4th in the race. I'm sure that Mr and Mrs Jonsson were beaming with pride as their son swore his way through an interview. That said, I personally think it was unfair for the television people to stick a microphone under the fellow's nose at such a time. This needs to be looked at by the authorities.

Take note of the the passage in bold, it is the important part.

Personally, I'm hoping to see the mighty Gollob blasting around Krsko. But he looks desperately short of horsepower and that's something you need quite a bit of at Krsko.

Okay, my thoughts on the riders individual performances: Adams: Will be disappointed to have dropped out at the semi-final stage, but it's often the way with Adams. Andersen: An improvement on Wroclaw, but still not quite the performance he would have been expecting. Bjerre: Performed very well in his first grand prix and should be well pleased with making the semi-final. Chrzanowski: Did as well as could be reasonably expected. But this level of racing is clearly too high for him. Crump: Had an indifferent grand prix and yet still ended up winning. He'll be happy with the result, but probably not the performance. Was terrific in the semi-final and re-run of the final. Gollob: Looked well off the pace, but still scored a win. He'll not be happy and he needs a good result in Krsko. But Krsko's a power circuit and Gollob doesn't look to have enough. Hancock: Was there, or thereabouts and made the semi-final. Holta: Was there, or thereabouts in all his rides and performed reasonably well. Jonsson: Better not say anything. Lindback: Another super performance by the young fellow. Nicholls: Pretty hopeless really. B Pedersen: Probably the best he's ridden all season. He performed very well and thoroughly deserved his place in the final. Well done to a fellow I've dismissed in the series this year. But needs to build on it. He won in Wroclaw last season and did precious little else. N Pedersen: An eventful grand prix for Nicki Pedersen, as ever. Richardson: Pretty hopeless really. Rickardsson: Was awesome again. Unlucky not to win. Sullivan: A solid showing from Sullivan, but I can't see him getting anywhere this season. And his pathetic attitude isn't wearing thin? Well, Lincoln said you could fool some of the people all of the time.

I'd guess that was my fault Liontamer. I broke the golden rule that says you can't criticise Andreas Jonsson. Can say anything you like about Nicki P, but Jonsson is inviolable.
-
I see ALL my comments pertaining to Jonsson have been removed from the other thread. Just illustrates my point about why he will never progress anywhere. People always defending the indefensible and pandering to him.
-
Anyone think Jonsson will walk away from Coventry after the last week?
-
Would he? That's far from certain. And anyway, he was excluded, so no point discussing ifs and buts. Both British riders looked on the pace, but I think both rode rather naively and ended up in the wrong place on the track.

The Golden Horde were always good at a slaughter. Can't say I've ever heard of the Purfleet Horde. -

Wish he'd taken me to the chip shop. I'm feeling a little hungry and fish 'n' chips is my favourite food. Except it's a bit rare here on the endless steppes. -

There's not a problem. What else was he supposed to do? Settle for last? He was in fourth place and he ended in fourth place. He tried for 3rd didn't make it and was excluded - anyone wanting to win enough would have done the same. But it gifted the win to Crump. Although Crump rode a great ride in the final to take it. -

Well, Nicki gifted that win to his arch-rival Crump. I bet he's devastated. -

The grim reaper? He was excluded. Nicki Pedersen's a great racer and always good entertainment value. -

Aside from the unfairness of the result, that was a fabulous final and Crump did ride very well to win it. -

That's Nicki for you. He had nothing to lose. He was fourth, he's still fourth. -

Agree Steven. I still think TR will win, but if he doesn't, he'll know who to thank. -

You were saying Liontamer? Got to be an exclusion for young Nicki.
